Assuming we draft a QB next year...
UConn James replied to McNubbins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL. I'm keeping an eye on Lamar Jackson's development. -
This. It was on this date several years ago that the guy in Norway killed 70+ people at a kids day camp where it took the police there 90 minutes to respond. Security is self-help and 90 percent of the time, cops are there after the fact to do paperwork for the insurance companies. AW, from accounts, acted a little oddly during the situation but I'll chalk that up to the nerves / loss of sauve in the heat of the moment and to him being a big black dude in a country that has had headlines such as they are. His intent was to prove that although he was lawfully carrying, he was not a threat to the police or bystanders. All involved came out OK. This isn't what some want/wanted to make it out to be. Let's move on.

Of all the cooking shows, which one do you like?
UConn James replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I would have to say "A Chef's Life" on PBS that follows Vivian Howard's NC / Southern cooking is one of the easiest to watch. It's down-home and really well-produced. "Mind of a Chef" on the Netflix is really good for topics and I enjoyed the first chef that was featured on it with the ramen and Japanese influences of his heritage. "Chef's Kitchen" is really artsy and more personality / ambiance driven than about the actual food, but it is visually beautiful. I don't have pay-TV so I can't rate any of the Food Network shows and such, but when I have seen ones like that where it's competition and judges and whatnot, I just don't like that. The ATK and Cook's Country ones are really helpful for the aspiring home cook to learn some new techniques. And while I don't hate Chris Kimball as the host, I don't really miss him either. -
Any "Cord Cutters" here? I need your help!
UConn James replied to Guffalo's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Which model of antenna do you have? I'm pretty dubious of set-tops with amplifier. If that doesn't work, there are many more tricks in the OTA bag. I'm in Northeast CT and get Boston, Providence and Hartford stations. -
Whaley wants Cardale to be 2017 starter
UConn James replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, well that just adds to the QB class to pick from. Lamar Jackson. Haven't had any caffeine yet.... We're in nowheresville until we have a franchise QB and I'm sorry to say that isn't TT. Really wanted it to be him but it's just not. -

Darnold was a freshman this season, yes? Not eligible to declare next season. You know... I'm not completely averse to this. Tank the season with Cardale / find out what his ceiling is, and then have a top pick --- if not THE top pick in what some are saying is a very good QB draft. Colts did it to get Luck. Lamar Alexander, anyone? -
Say a prayer for Danny, my son....

Deepest condolences, NG. -
Majors tennis has become so much more watchable as I've aged and drifted away from other sports. These guys and ladies work their buns off and it's just them out there, no one else to blame, in a game that hasn't changed all that much since Renaissance times (I may be one of the few who kinda misses the players curtseying to the royal box at Wimbledon). Rarely do you hear about off-court troubles. Nadal and Federer really do seem like two of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. I was pulling for a Fedal final and am glad they're getting another chance at playing each other. HD and Hawkeye have helped make tennis so much better. The AO is a little difficult with the timezone difference, but for the past several years I often wake at 3-3:30 a.m. for whatever reason (well... grief, probably) and putting on the ESPN3 app has been as good a time-passer as anything else at that hour.

Stephon Gilmore is a 1st Time Pro Bowler
UConn James replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt --- and I mean there is NO doubt! --- that the NFLPA has a finger in this stuff to give a tap to guys who are up for U/FA so they can give a little boost to guys who will "raise the tide" so to speak. It is completely a fluff game and should be ended. -
Great Play calling yet again......

Atrocious. If Lynn is hired, that's the sign that they will be tanking next season to blow everything up and pick the Louisville QB. -

Mowing the neighbors lawn update 5/25

Well that changes EVERYthing!!!! But seriously, if you don't want to do it anymore either for time or non-compensation mixed in with liability, I'd do what mrags said above. Only, I'd just go the hose-mender route because that's a cheaper fix. -
My father is a USPS substitute carrier. Do you know how many papercuts you get when you handle that much mail? After the 9/11 and anthrax stuff, they were provided latex gloves, which would routinely rip/tear after maybe 30 minutes and cause all kinds of annoyances because carriers often need that fine tactile ability that gloves really get in the way of. So... he gets some papercuts. This is a different situation, but still, if it were bleeding *that* profusely... that's something that one should notice and put a freaking band-aid on.

Is it only me who sees the shoulder pads on these guys and they now maybe they should be a little thicker or extend a little more?

Haven't logged on this week, but I'm now offering my belated best wishes and prayers for Bill and your entire family. Encouraging news. Let's keep that coming!
