  1. So many kickers having bad days this season, even on XPs. It’s very weird how many misses there have been, even among good kickers. Bass has been extremely solid, comparing across the league, after early yips. Difference being, he’s a rook and his ceiling goes up.
  2. Well, I suppose with newer teevee come better upgrades. And once stations start broadcasting ATSC 3.0 (a number of markets already have; was due to roll out in many more markets in 2020 here but COVID messed that up...) & the NFL converts to 4K cameras, and a 4K teevee, you won’t be able to get a better picture than an antenna / over-the-air signal because it’s uncompressed. Antenna is already better than Cable & satellite even for 1080 HD for the same reason.
  3. Such 💩 that pass interference is SO inconsistently called. Dallas WR got completely held up by that CB, no call. Wallace did f—-all to the 49ers WR last night and got flagged by a ref who was 50 yards away, 5 seconds after the play.
  4. I would imagine a new stadium is tabled for the next few-several years now with the impact of COVID and a future where more viruses or strains pop up. A smaller stadium was probably in the cards before if the plan was / is for the Buffalo waterfront. Now it might be a consideration to reduce it more 🤷🏻‍♂️? I have been in favor of a retractable roof since all the talk about replacing started. It’s the best of both worlds. It can be open in good weather and closed in bad weather... or even have a clause to keep it open if a bad-weather game is ever wanted?... and closed in winter months so the stadium can be used for other events like NCAA tourney, NCAA hockey, concerts, gymnastic events, etc. All of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments now have retractable roofs... for two weeks of use per year. It should be do-able for NFL. Gonna take some investment by the Pegulas and probably a little side help from the league and the state.
  5. This shirt has seen some special tailoring work, I must say. AT&T gal: But is anyone a bit annoyed how she says, “Word of mouth adverDizing”?
  6. “It is what it is” or my preferred “it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be” isn’t bulls— when I use it to describe construction or DIY work. It’s the acceptance that things rarely come out absolutely PERFECT. You do the best with what you’ve got and you live with it. Mine is: “Time heals all wounds.” Maybe for people with sh— for memory.
  7. This D is proving to be water-soft against 2min offenses.
  8. The second season has been great so far. But wow. Episode 5 “The Jedi”. A favorite character of many makes her first live-action appearance and we learn more about BY. Just about the only thing I was a bit disappointed by was that Asokha’s pointed ‘hair?’ was not nearly as big — more like mosquito bite bumps here — as shown in the other series and the Black Series figure. Maybe they couldn’t make it work. Otherwise exceptional and is the slam-dunk showing why Dave Filoni needs to run Star Wars after Kathleen Kennedy leaves early next year.
  9. I honestly think that was about Ralph being cheap. IIRC, pro competition helmets cost about $1,500 a pop when it’s all said and done (in today’s money).
  10. BREAKING NEWS: Per a Chipotle’s delivery guy who took a picture yesterday evening and posted to Bills Mafia Twitter, Josh has gone clean shaven.
  11. I’m not sure Mitch Hedburg belongs because his time was so short, but his style was & is my favorite and it’s emulated by a lot of modern humor... so up there he goes. (A cleaner follow-up on his act is Demitri Martin, who I’m also a fan of.) Eddie. Carlin. Chapelle.
  12. Right on. I forgot to add that I like them when they’re a bit stale.
  13. Aaaand now not. I was to get it via antenna here in NE CT from the Providence FOX and that got switched too. Can’t believe the first output when you get the Bills game b/c lord knows they’ll change it 😠, even tho it should be the better game by far.
  14. Probably my number 3. 1. Funyuns. Just... there are so few in the bag it doesn’t seem worth it. 2. Triscuits Fire Roasted Tomato... but then again most any Triscuits flavor will do.
  15. There were a LOT of missed figgies yesterday (a few boinks off crossbars) in much better conditions than Bass faced. Kid’s getting experience and there’ll be some hiccups along the way but that was solid yesterday in wind. For whatever reason, this is all-around not a great year for kickers...
  16. Jefferson getting mauled there too. No holding in today’s NFL.
  17. Did the same with Motor last year and seems to be the situation with Milano now, easing him back in / pitch-counted.
  18. That happened when I was still in diapers and a bassinet, so I don’t have the lived experience at least as far as football is concerned. But some years ago on the ESPN3/BBC feed of Wimbledon 🎾, there were a number of matches where the commentators spoke only a couple of times a game and it was awesome to be able to feel like you were just a guy sitting in the stands. Some graphics came up which provided info and the umpire would announce the Hawkeye challenges and such. It was nice to just have the sounds of the court in full breath and not have to listen to someone trying to get in your head and chat you up and explain their worldview. But tennis is different; shorter time between play. Maybe not advocating a full removal of an announcer, but definitely paring down how much they talk might be refreshing. With the coming ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard I’m hoping that comes with more audio options.
