  1. And whose fault is that? When JP was named the starter, he invited Evans and Moulds to work out with him to get their timing down and generally acclimate to each other. Moulds chose to take out his anger at TD cutting Drew, by not showing up. JP was on the same page as Evans; Moulds wasn't thrown to as much last year b/c he wasn't. Hard to empathize with someone who created his problem in the first place. And then there's the whole Miami game spectacle. The fact he's still on the team sends the players the wrong message that they can defy the coaches; Rueben pulled the same thing and he got his. Levy's hand was kind of forced, as you want to try to get something in exchange. And yet, he couldn't shop Moulds around in the situation last week b/c other teams figure all they need to do is wait to get him for free. Moulds and his agent now are moving things along on their natural progression by announcing that he is, de facto, on the market. I think we get something for him, but maybe not as much as one would like.
  2. We haven't heard a fuggin' peep from him since the season ended, in contrast to last year's hypefest, but what do you expect from a loudmouth, cocky punk!
  3. My inside sources say that in addition to that new rule only applying to the Bills, we have a $2 salary cap and must purge our roster of everyone but JP Losman, who will hike and throw to himself and then catch the ball; he will also play defense. Marv will be forced to coach pro bono by NFL fiat. Also, our opponents are allowed to have their entire roster and pratice squad on the field at all times.
  4. Oh, dear. BTW, her name is Madeleine, just so you don't have to say "Lindy Ruff's daughter" while doing thoughts/prayers. Link
  5. Yes, but he banged Blaze Starr in a linen cabinet. Tell me you wouldn't've nailed this back in the day, even if she was swarming with cooties.
  6. Crennel put together a shopping list and he's getting what he wants. Good for him.
  7. ... and TD's Plug-'n'-Play LG, Lawrence 'Larry' Smith. Buh-bye(!), Justin.
  8. The FB is not irrelevant, especially given our weakness in the interior OL. Antowain Smith griped about 'having to follow a FB' b/c it was the only excuse he had left while he was here, and the next season the times he was in a one-back set showed that, like all players who think they can be coaches, he was wrong. You're right that Shelton should be gone. McGahee should have either a blocking or a multi-use FB, and there are a couple in the draft that could be had in the 3rd or 4th. I for one am not overly confident in having Willis as a single-back or Neufeld or someone as a lead blocker on 3rd and goal from the 1. We've dealt with the effects of not having a bruiser FB since Gash left. In my mind, this is as important as upgrading the OL. Link.
  9. To be fair, Buchanan has some jaw fat and structure left, and he brushed his hair (or someone cared enough about him to do it for him).
  10. And, at times, fetal.
  11. I can really see how Jefferson might have had Asperger's (high-functioning autism). Wrote the Declaration in 17 days. Gunshot and sword wounds are diseases? What entails "debilitating diarrhea"? Why does everyone assume that b/c Cal was quiet, he was depressed? You'd've thought a couple would have had paranoia.
  12. I've been pointing this kid out since last season. With all the onus on 'We need OL!' this kid would be a GREAT pickup if Marv and Dick are truly serious about the running game. Bernstein is a bruiser and will remind you of Sam Gash. If we're looking more toward a rushing FB, there's a kid, Nick Hartigan out of Brown who will do well if he goes to the right situation; Ivy League TD record and I've seen him take big hits and pop right back up; Alstott-type player. Shelton underwhelmed me last season, and he's... 33? 34? There's a reason he was watching football from his couch two seasons ago.
  13. Maybe having to pay his own way will turn him into a fiscal conservative Dem... or Libertarian. Good thing for one to have to do, in learning the 'Maybe govt shouldn't spend other people's money like a drunken sailor" idiom.
  14. Best way to learn a foreign language too. He was in Puerto Rico for a few months and down in Columbia when that plane went down (lots to that story that he would not say), and if I had to list all the other places, it'd honestly take less time to tell you where he didn't go. My s-i-l went down to PR for a couple of weeks and stayed in the hotel room. Fabulous deal for her.
  15. My uncle served on the Midway in late WWII & Korea. Lost his hearing and is just now getting VA benefits for it. Thanks. I'll make sure to send him this.
  16. I was thinking stuff like this. Get a few pictures of administration officials with a split-second bizarre facial feature, some nice clip-art of demons, and a grainy photo of the cover of "Wag the Dog," combine it all with 12 different color fonts and you've got yourself a sizzling indictment of the Clinton Presidency, yessiree. All of these Dems under accusation by the Repubs must go un-indicted and get away Scot-free with everything because.... they control all three branches of government?
  17. My brother in the Air Force Ravens goes on missions from time to time. Taking care of his checkbook while he was away after 9/11, it was a vertiable checklist of five-star hotels (for amenities the gov't didn't pick up, which meant, not much b/c they love to spend it). But after Khobar, that's what they have to do; anything less doesn't have the required security.
  18. Cisneros was the only one I could find. Another (Espy?) was fully acquitted. The ideology machine that spurns out pages like "The Clinton Crime Family" is much more enamored of spewing baseless accusations re: Vince Foster's death (BTW -- I attended a talk by Henry Lee, where he showed case photos, many of them stomach-turning, and gave descriptions of numerous cases he's worked on. I challenge anyone to actually look at the pictures of the scene and explain how it clearly wasn't a suicide rather than quote Rush Limbaugh's conspiracy theories as gospel. And by the way, if you're not easily bothered by stuff like that, I urge people to meet Mr. Lee; guy would make a fortune in stand-up comedy), the FBI files in the WH, campaign contributions and a photo with a guy later arrested for drug dealing, Ron Brown's 'assassination' and the like. Many of the very things the current administration does out in the open and vocally defend. If these people weren't so blindly partisan, they'd take the sites down in shame. So far, I count four Bush officials who've been arrested: Scooter Libby, Thomas Noe, David Safavian, and now Claude Allen. Maybe future presidential candidates would be well served to NOT make promises that their WH will "bring back honor, ethics, and blah blah blah" to the office. As if it ever was any of these things under any president, or ever could be just b/c a certain party is in power. Thing is, time after time, the lemmings in this country actually buy this bullsh-- and vote for either of the Big Two's nominees which virtually ensures that they had to claw, canoodle and carouse with truly bad people on their way there.
  19. No sh--. Where else is going to go that would give him a better shot at a starting job, or a you'd-better-be-ready #2? Green Bay, if Favre retires? San Fran? It's an excellent situation for a QB with a few years of experience and a drive to show what he's got if he has it (which last year led me to the conclusion that Volek didn't have it and he knew it and stuck in Tenn, and I think his play proved that right). Holcomb is what he is, and JP, while I want to believe he has it and will root for him to step up this year, hasn't earned much so far. And both are the previous GM's guys, which as much as Marv is courteous when he answers questions in the media, they may not fit the style of football he wants.
  20. Well, to be fair, it's kind of like everyone who said/predicted that Mussolini and Eichmann were going to be executed before their trials even started. Not that it's going to be rigged, just that things don't get to this point only to have the judge say, "Oh, our mistake. We're very, very sorry. You're free to go!"
  21. Handy magazine usually has some good ideas, but they have a pretyty barebones website and I think you need a subscription # to access. Lots of places online when you search through Google, many say FREE but many/most charge a nominal fee. You also have to key in on what exactly you want to make. I'd recommend going to Lowes or HD's book section and thumbing through the woodworking sections. Some have really good plans, and a one-time $15-20 is better than spendig $5/per plan of something you may not like once you download it.
  22. Maybe, just maybe, this is the same type of thing as when Dorenbos was cut before last season in favor of Schneck(?). We wound up paying more, but look at what this small change spurred for the STs, Lindell in particular. If this is a sign that we FINALLY get serious about getting back to the running game we need here (and I think Marv does see this), then stand aside. For all those freaking about the money, it's doubtful that Royals even finishes that contract out, and it's probably backloaded. (See: Jay R., Dave Moore, Mark Campbell)
  23. Bare-knuckle fighter you are, I hear.
  24. Andrea Davis Well, Marv is 128 years old.... Nah. Still no excuse.
