  1. What's with that whole argument? "The Sands of Iwo Jima" shouldn't have been made unless all the profits went to make a statue? "The Perfect Storm" shouldn't have been written or made into a film 7 years later? That's sh--. This is America. There is NOTHING wrong with a film making a profit. This is called capitalism --- something the terrorists want to destroy. W/in this system lies economic choice, you can go see it or not, regardless of whether you see a 'need.'
  2. I'm finding that about a lot of Will Ferrel movies. Watched "Anchorman" last week and while it had a few moments of comedy, it was mostly gibberish and crap writing & acting. The funniest parts were in the previews; I think the same thing could be said about T-Nights. I just fail to see how execs think WF can carry a movie for 2 hours by shouting and jumping around. Haven't seen WTC. I don't watch movies in the theatre; and I've watched fewer and fewer American movies b/c they're sh--. But if I were to go to the theatre, WTC and "A Prairie Home Companion" (an all-star cast in this gem; I'll wait for DVD) have been two recent movies I would consider.
  3. In my travels here in NE it has always been 'milkshake.' To call it a 'frappe' you have to be wearing a beret and order in an outrageous pretend-French-accented English.
  4. Maybe the players could voice their opinions to Ralph re: the throwbacks, too....
  5. Let's all say it with Bills / Sabresfan --- CUT LINDELL NOW!!!! I mean, the guy only made a 50-yarder that would've gone 57. And then a measley 45 yarder. I stand by my comments earlier in this thread and add in a "You're an idiot."
  6. Hey, no scouting department worked for the Bengals in the '90s.... O-hhhh!!!! There are lots of things videotape does not show.
  7. That's just disgusting. He will likely get out in a year and a half and there's like an 80% or better chance he'll do it again. We see Jessica Lunsford, we see Elizabeth Smart, we see how many others, and we ask 'Why is this happening?' And there's the answer. Catch-and-release keeps the lawyers, judges, baliffs, media, politicians, et al. in a job. We slap these ^$%@ers on the wrist and let them right back out. Diddling and rape-then-murder are the ultimate in the ever-more-degenerative gonzo porn addicted society that we live in. The media creates the first by dressing Brittney Spears in a schoolgirl uniform and having her sing in a cackling voice. And it hypes the second. Schopp is a %$^^ing idiot.
  8. Yep. All six of us. HB, KD.
  9. My question is, are they going to have to replace all of those footballs that have Tagliabue's signature on them?
  10. My self-same thoughts.
  11. That reporter has the stretched-leather, blue-eye-shadow look of many of the type of American that quite care about this. I guess it's not enough for the easily offended that the photo indeed doesn't show a nipple or anything other than a curve, but the idea that the woman was baring her breast at some point in time in something other than a hermetically sealed room is a Red-Alert danger to all and sundry. But, of course, there's nothing wrong with CSI:Miami (including one intro scene that nearly got coital) and 30 other shows on her network that show things FAR more obscene than that. The media's inability to report objectively on itself while holding everyone else's feet to the fire doesn't shock me. Look at when 90% of TV stations missed the analog shut-off date b/c they dragged their asses and refused to upgrade their equipment in time. Not a fuggin' peep; it never happened. Their moralizing campaigns --- and I say this, b/c they choose to air these crap 'controversies' and provide a forum for the puritanicals --- ring hollow.
  12. Meh. Doesn't matter. They'll each get over 1,000 yards rushing.
  13. Over ten grand for agreeing to go up 16 jersey numbers. Easy money. That Witner held out for more money just so he could spend it like this.... That's a little disconcerting.
  14. Your 'sources from deep within the organization'? You mean Chris Brown's blog entry from Saturday on BB.com? There's more on it today.
  15. If you don't like the fact that it was made 'so soon', wait. If you don't like that 10% of the opening weekend gross and 10% of the entire release gross will be going to WTC families/charities, don't pay money to see it. If you think it's too intrusive, complain to the guys whose story the movie tells. Oh, wait. They helped on the movie. This is a very, very small portion of what happened in a very discrete time period. More will follow in time. Get used to it. Too anyone who feels it's their right to B word about whether a movie should have been made, who think they are the sole proprietor of what happened on 9/11, who should have starred in the movie, what color the captions should have been, the answer is simple. Watch. Or don't.
  16. I believe it was versus Carolina.
  17. I see it's Pile-on-Madden time again.... He has made a hell of an improvement over his FOX days and the first year on MNF. I don't know if ABC got him a speech therapist or what, but I watched a dozen times the past couple of years and Madden was clear, fairly succinct and did exactly what a color analyst should do; good insight, a touch of whimsy, share stories. Michaels helps him stay on task. Same tonight (up until he kept saying 'hope' and 'prayer' when the guy was down --- but then again, what else are you going to say?). I think it also helps him to be at his peak when it's actually a contested game rather than a snoozefest, which many MNFs were recently. The new SNF has real promise after I earlier feared how Bush League NBC would be. Try listening to the guy instead of plugging your ears and yelling MaddenBad.
  18. And in some people's case, no matter how much information they provide --- and, ohh, do they provide --- they're still unintelligible.
  19. You mean the jagoff that suggested we 'CUT LINDELL NOW!!!' about two months ago?
  20. It was sarcasm w/o a hint that it was sarcasm. Which, especially in writing and I guess especially on the Internet, is hard to distinguish/flesh out. He took a few digs that one could call a joke, but also what one could call a little crass. Referenced Trebeck's roll-over accident, the show's new sets always using the same color of blue, etc.
  21. He kept doing it over multiple days, I saw somewhere. Tame, yes. Thing is, the "Mormon Assassin" probably thought they were real 'zingers.'
  22. I'm pretty sure it does not affect onsides kicks. Free kicks are done after a safety. ----- What happened to a rule re: players' hair length coming down over the nameplate e.g. Mike McKenzie? I remember a blurb (TMQ?) saying they'd visit that.
  23. Ken didn't do himself any favors for being invited back for tournaments, etc. with his blog's string of techie-dork insults ('You don't even have 256MB of RAM! Trebeck is a robot! Boo-yah!') for a show that gave him the opportunity to line his pockets with a cool $2.5M. Someone please inform him that his 15 mintues were up last year.
  24. Jay, be considerate to billsfanone and just put 20 snakes on his motherf--kin' plane instead of 50.
