  1. Merry Natal Anniversary, SDS!
  2. Denver the city & Colorado the state aren’t paying. The word usage didn’t specify that. 👍 “Denver” in the colloquial usage refers to the franchise / team. “Denver, who has an owner with a net worth 5x of the next richest NFL owner, contributes nothing.” It just implied “Broncos” to me. The city of Denver doesn’t have an owner. => ‘Broncos contribute nothing.’ I did editing. It was just an unclear sentence to me.
  3. Bro, your sentence said that the Denver owner is contributing nothing.
  4. You’re mis-reading that. It’s saying that Denver isn’t going to / planning to use any taxpayer money to finance their stadium construction. And… just to reiterate. The taxpayer contribution is being paid back by the Bills, over time. NYS & Erie put some of the stadium cost on their credit cards up front. So… It’s like a low or no interest loan. It was not a grant.
  5. No. There’s only so many IR placements that are designated/eligible-to-return. Eight for the whole season. An additional two for the playoffs.
  6. They had one replay with the center Linderbaum pulling, jumping over DT and then blocking a LB. When their OL is getting to the second level untouched, that doesn’t speak volumes about our DL. Happened a couple of times.
  7. IIRC, teams can use 8 IR placements per season with a designation to return. And can use IR without that designation for all injuries that are considered season-ending.
  8. Like they aren’t, if one really knew them / they had as much publicity as Sting? 🤷‍♂️
  9. So “Don’t Fear the Reaper” is mostly credited to Albert Bouchard (played by Will Ferrell) b/c ‘You’re gonna want that cowbell!!!’
  10. Another article says the pair claims they weren’t given song-writing credits in the early ‘80s when it came out. So I guess they’re seeking a larger percentage of the song’s profits since as well as a share of the substantial rap sampling use that Sting sued for and won. I dunno. The time for this might’ve been… ohhh, say… 40 years ago. Also I had thought songwriting credit was for lyrics. Which, were Sting’s. As the story goes, he wrote it in 30 minutes after waking up with them in his head. Credit for instrumentals and such follow underneath on CDs I’ve ever bought. And that percentages of profits was a thing worked out by signed contracts prior to / during / shortly after the album was produced or a tour done. Always wondered what percentage a frontman gets for vocals and instrument vs. band members who only play an instrument. Like, hell. Ringo didn’t ask for songwriting credit for “Yesterday”, did he? That was Paul’s song. WTF?! They’re just looking for a bigger cut after the fact and how court rulings have gone in the last decade or so about royalties.
  11. Imagine kayo. 🤢 Friend of mine sculpted & installed the Jonathan the Husky statue on campus in the mid-‘90s and it’s just iconic. I used to rub / pat its nose before every exam for good luck (I graduated summa, so…), and it appears that others do as well. Larry has been called a few times over the years when there’s graffiti and whatnot. Once, when someone took a polish of some kind and buffed Jonathan’s male anatomy so it was gleaming and he had to try to re-patina it. Part of any statue, just like architecture, is how people are going to interact with it. Some kids ride on the back during grad pictures. Last year, GQ did a photo shoot of Paige Bueckers for their cover and feature story and he was thrilled when someone sent him the picture. All it needed for perfection 🤌 would be for her to be smoking a cig while in this pose. Of course, at 16 feet for the tallest bison sculpture, posing would be less intimate. I’m not sure / haven’t heard if they’re going to try to cordon off the area so people can’t go right up and touch it / them. Which would be kinda sad.
  12. I don’t think this was the winning artist [ link ] but this proposal has an installation timeline of late April - late May 2026. I would assume that would be the rough dates the proposal invitations were given by the project management.
  13. Half credit.
  14. https://www.audacy.com/wben/news/local/bills-fans-share-astonishment-over-progress-with-new-highmark-stadium A bunch of nice pictures from 27 August and general update as the stadium is ~70% completed.
  15. Those are the City of Boston colors that the Boston Marathon also uses. It started as a tribute they wore on that day and to memorialize the bombing. As a Sox fan, I like them… but would prefer less frequent use. But damn, they have really stacked up the wins while wearing them and you can’t argue that.
