  1. For those curious: http://www.nfl.com/m/share?p=%2Fvideos%2Fnfl-game-highlights%2F0ap3000000947382%2FEvery-Josh-Rosen-throw-Preseason-Week-1
  2. I liked what I saw out of Allen as well - he looked further along than I expected. Semantics I know, but “frail” to me implies someone who’s easily broken, injured. Rosen took a few serious shots that did not seem to faze him at all. If by frail you mean slight or skinny, then sure, I completely agree - Rosen’s frame isn’t wowing anyone and all other things being equal, I’d rather have a QB that looks like Allen physically. Injury potential is tough to predict - players of all sizes get seriously hurt in the NFL. I believe 5 were drafted this year, and 3 of those were day 3 picks. UCLA was a bad Pac-12 team last year. I think you’re overstating things. And whether Allen was “great” at Wyoming is up for debate.
  3. OP called him “frail” and I assumed he got wrecked and knocked out of the game. Nothing of the sort happened. In fact, he took what looked like a vicious hit and bounced right back up.
  4. It is. Allen claims Fresno reporters called him “Hollywood,” which is lazy and nonsensical, yet still better than 99% of the cringe-inducing suggestions in this thread.
  5. After watching Rosen’s passing downs, it’s probably prudent to point out that the Cardinals’ offensive line in pass protection was atrocious. For instance, Rosen was blasted in the face up the middle on his first completion. OP decided not to mention this, but since Allen’s misses were excused away by many here as due to poor protection, I think it’s appropriate to mention.
  6. No and we did not need another thread about Tyrod either.
  7. I don’t think McDermott is ever going to be that progressive guy when it comes to down-and-distance situations, i.e., when to punt/not punt. But he still falls within the vast majority of current head coaches in that regard. I can't fault him too much.
  8. Whipping it off his back foot going backwards and that ball gets picked by starting defenses. Not a good throw or decision. Allen was lucky Lee was defended by someone a foot shorter than him.
  9. Absolutely not. Did not mean to imply that just a follow up to your post. The haters need to pump their brakes as well it was one game.
  10. You could say the same thing about the posters here that have excuses for every bad thing he does and are comparing him to current/future HOFers. In this very thread I’ve seen Rodgers’ and Newton’s names brought up. That’s silly and stupid homer BS. Sorry if some people here aren’t buying that **** yet.
  11. Grading Allen on a curve (which we all should; it’s his very first game) I’d give him a B+. Not ready to start, but looks much closer than I’d thought he’d be. One thing I saw that stuck out: his footwork looked pretty bad in the 3rd quarter, and then seemed to markedly improve in the 4th. I chalk that up to nerves I guess. i did not see him “constantly under immediate pressure” as others have suggested. Looks like that popular excuse from college is going to carry over into his pro years. he probably should have went 12/19 (63%, which is good enough) Foster did him no favors, but Lee bailed him out on a pass that should not have been thrown. all in all, pretty good.
  12. Let’s see he got drunk, called an uber and then grabbed his driver in the crotch. He then lied about it and got ronald darby to lie for him. He continued to lie about sexually assaulting this woman until he couldn’t any longer and then gave a sorry-not sorry nonapology. That was good enough for the NFL knock his suspension in half from 6 games to 3.
  13. Not a coincidence that the guy crowing the loudest about jameis’ “leadership” on camera was jason licht, the genius that drafted him. Immaturity can be forgiven, corrected, learned from. Winston is not just immature, he’s a criminal. The fact that the league cut a deal with him to avoid extended media coverage of this is sick and reason #1001 why King Ginger should be fired yesterday.
  14. No single study is definitive. I am sure the UB researchers are extremely competent but this finding isn’t opinion-changing for me.
  15. Right but didn’t this guy have a history coming into the league? He may have been put in the program right away and subjected to more tests.
  16. Ha wow I did not know the team was involved in the editing of the episodes thanks yolo! Yes every tuesday for 5 weeks I believe.
  17. Well **** john stuart mill I did not know people getting loose at a tailgate had to contribute to the benefit of all to be a valid way to have fun. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Colleges have had male cheerleaders/ dancers at football games since forever. Not a big deal.
  19. So “named” in a police report as a relative of a suspect? I have no issue with this. Lots of players have criminal elements in their families. Doesn’t mean the player is a bad guy. Janoris Jenkins anyone? He wasn’t dumped after his brother allegedly killed a guy was he?
  20. Because they were using unproven analytics at the time and their owner is a known meddler who knows nothing about football.
  21. Didn’t Zay return to full practice today? Seems like he’s ready to play. And if “no-nonsense” McBeane were really concerned about the hotel Zay would be gone already.
  22. Funny you say that and then back it up with the Coleman trade, a guy who, up to this point, hasn’t “earned” anything either. He’s another high pick who has been hurt all the time (like Zay) and hasn’t really been able to catch the ball (like Zay.)
