  1. No I think the reporter’s account and transcript of the conversation is accurate. And Haskins’ father certainly seems to have an unhealthy distrust of the media; I am just not ready to label the guy a bumpkin based on this one interaction with one reporter. Guy may simply be in over his head. As far as career repercussions, Kyler Murray and his dad also went on quite the disastrous press tour earlier this year where it was clear Murray received bad advice and came off as evasive and noncommittal. Hasn’t really hurt him as far as I can tell.
  2. Appears Mulugheta is the agent. But it appears this reporter wanted to do a piece on Haskins’ childhood in NJ, since that is this guy’s beat. Not sure the reporter would even be interested in speaking to his pro agent in this case.
  3. Kinda? I mean we are only getting the side of the story from the NJ reporter. Haskins Sr. surely could use some tips on dealing with the media. But I don’t know anything about those other sources cited by the reporter, sources that Haskins seemingly has a problem with. Maybe he does have a legit beef with some of them, not sure how any of us can know for sure one way or the other.
  4. Eh seems like the guy just has a very particular message he wants associated with his son. Maybe some of those other sources really did burn the kid in some way in the past. The father seems pretty traditional; absolutely nothing wrong with that.
  5. Don’t get salty with me for calling a spade a spade. I’m not the one who shut that stupid, unnecessary thread down.
  6. I’d be fine with this and I agree it certainly is, while not pressing, a need at this point.
  7. I thank you for finding it. And now even you admit you see how this type of thing would not work. What your article describes is a quick and easy way to alienate your entire fanbase and get entire front offices fired.
  8. Kiper has always loved Allen, this take is not surprising. What is surprising is that this time, I hope the haircut is right.
  9. There is no Barkley in this draft. Wait till rds 4-5-6 if you have to. There is no urgent need for one, unless the geriatrics get hurt in training camp and that won’t be known next week.
  10. I mean logic would suggest Allen improves. He has a low bar to clear based on rookie performance. QB isn’t a “skill position”?
  11. I want no part of Clowney, just injury history scares me. Frank Clark is intriguing, but seems like kinda a dick. I would think Beane wants no part of that, but his pursuit of AB makes me now think he may still be interested.
  12. You know he’s the best player in the draft yet you didn’t know his name until today?
  13. fitz may have lost the starting job to some scrub by week 11.
  14. The players involved in this are basically claiming fraudulent inducement correct? Serious question I haven’t had a chance to read much about this.
  15. Pretty decent this year. Finally glad for a block of early-ish home games and not 3 home games in December (again). SOS is not predictive year-to-year so not going to speculate on wins/losses, I just hope they get off to a good start because they have to open away/away.
  16. Compared to both Von Miller and Aaron Maybin in the same thread...not sure what to believe!?
  17. I think at his peak Ben was excellent, not knocking you for throwing him in there. Then again, the thread is about Wilson, and if we talk about the relative complimentary talent, I think Ben had an easier go of it overall wouldn’t you say?
  18. You lost me at Big Ben...just kidding. Sure it’s relatively tight in that 3-6 range but I think Wilson is vastly better than Ben at present. Sad isn’t it?
  19. Never heard of this particular guy and let’s all remember the “draftniks” that make their bacon on this s*** every year mix it up amongst multiple mock drafts to keep feeding the beast.
