    That’s fair I guess, but I hope you are taking into account the tremendous downgrade at LG last season compared to who he was playing next to his rookie year.

    Hell yeah and that’s probably the best reason to keep him. Like I said I wouldn’t be mad at all if they kept him. Guy’s made a few impressive plays and it isn’t like he’d be taking the spot of some superstar wideout.

    Because that’s not his job. They pay him (handsomely) to break NFL news as soon as possible. Kowtowing to some old timers’ imagined senses of decorum, however, isn’t in the job description.

    No problem if they decide to keep Duke, but to claim they “need to” keep him is nuts. There will be numerous wideouts more accomplished than Duke, with the same size and skillset, cut in a few days by other teams.

    I don’t think any team has assigned any trade value to Jones, and I like Zay a lot. And I don’t think any current player wants to play for Washington, Clowney included, but he wouldn’t have a choice (unless he decides to just sit out forever and not sign the franchise tag tender.)

    He’s in stage 5 still. I think they evaluate him after he’s done some full contact practice stuff and then give final clearance if everything’s all good. Excited to get him out there finally.

    I mean, Trent Williams for Clowney seems to make almost too much sense. Williams is adamant about never ever returning to that viper pit in Washington and Snyder’s stupid enough to make a trade for a guy with no guarantee he’ll resign after this year.

    That’s exactly it - these twisted narratives about “well, they are just keeping him in the protocol all preseason just so he doesn’t play” are a bit far fetched. They could have easily just said, before the first preseason game, “he’s fine, we ain’t playin him.” Exactly like what they did with McCoy.

    Yes you’ve said that several times already. I, too, love to diagnose medical conditions for people I’ve never met from my keyboard. counterpoint: maybe AB is just a jagoff and the money and fame associated with becoming the best WR in the league allowed him to, you know, stop caring completely about appearances.

    Apparently the later “model years” of his particular helmet have been modified in various ways by the manufacturer and thus are unacceptable to him as well. He really loves that 10 year old helmet of his that is probably beat to s*** by this point and offers barely any protection. Not that there’s much to protect up there in AB’s head.

    That’s right - he had a great, brief stretch of games, not a whole season. And he may have been primed to take that next step; he instead has either regressed or at least is currently caught in the wash amongst the new additions and other young guys.
