And yet some think Mahomes just walked into a great situation and the Bills didn’t F up, in the same breath saying “yeah sure Goff deserves record-levels of guaranteed money because, uh, well McVay signed off on it.” It’s cognitive dissonance on a ridiculous scale. Not him, obviously, but I do think there’s a difference between an average QB and a “system” QB. I mean, many people here claim that the Bills “really didn’t mess up cuz Mahomes wouldn’t be that good here and hey we got Tre and Josh anyways.” Those people are using the system QB argument for the league MVP. And maybe they have a point? I don’t know. I don’t think Goff is necessarily an average QB, I just don’t like the contract.

This. When I played the best athletes played SS, CF or catcher in baseball. Same guys usually played QB in football, unless they were on the shorter side. The article doesn’t seem too surprising to me.
