Maybe Lamar would’ve been the perfect QB for Daboll???

No, that’s not what people were saying.
hyperbole K9. But I think you know what I mean. He hasn’t been terrible for SEA, despite being “raw” and supposedly unable to run anything but a go.- 1

I know he fumbles, but they may want to activate Yeldon to get some extra juice in the backfield. You could deactivate, i don’t know Lee Smith?

Metcalf’s footwork on release doesn’t look bad at all. Weren’t people saying he couldn’t take 3 steps without tipping over?

Do we throw slants? I getting more ***** pissed at Daboll the more I watch this game
they have attempted a few more in the last couple weeks it seems. Obviously nowhere near the amount Shanahan dials up. Allen’s hit on a couple, thrown behind on some others...- 1

Why is goropollo sweating like a pig. Is it that warm in San Fran?
They don’t play in San Fran but it’s 70 in Santa Clara

You see....this is why none of us could be the Bills HC. We simply aren't wired to think this way, no more than we could describe how to split the atom.
lol. Truly, it hurts my head just trying to comprehend brain genius concepts like these from McDermott.- 1

If Kroft is still banged up, he should not be thrown out there for 43% of offensive snaps. That’s on the coaches unless Kroft is concealing an injury.

Worried about Gordon taking targets away from Lockett. I will be checking it out.

Also, to the OP’s point, I am not sure the issue is he’s getting beat over the head with “YOU CAN NEVER THROW A PICK!”
1st half yesterday Allen made a perfect, and I mean perfect 15 yard pass to Beasley over the middle into the one of the tightest windows you’ll ever see. That ball, if even half a foot off either way, gets tipped or picked.
Point is, Allen seems to have no hesitation throwing into coverage, even tight or double coverage. Yet he can’t seem to put a deep ball anywhere close enough to a wide open receiver to even let the guy make an attempt on the ball. Maybe, just maybe, he’s just bad at it and coaches’ mindgames are all in your head.

I sort of understand the idea of playing for the field goal and winning in overtime.
But they were marching and moving the ball well. You have to send the message to your QB that you believe in him to win it NOW, not in OT. They played scared football and sent a message that they didn’t believe Josh could deliver in the moment. They might erode Josh’s confidence by teaching him to play Tyrod ball. They can teach ball security while at the same time allowing Josh to sling it. And I’m afraid they might ruin what makes him a potentially good QB.
you shouldn’t understand this, because it’s a proven fallacy. It was bourne out of water-headed, risk-averse, traditional coach-think that has no rational basis.- 2

If that was one of our defenders swatting that ball out, would you consider it a great play by the defender or just bad handling by the QB. Allen has had his problems holding onto the ball, but in my opinion that was a great play by the defender. He hit that ball square on the money.Little from column A, little from column B. Allen’s horrid history of fumbling would probably cause me to lean a little bit more toward “A”, or Allen.

Q: can you be playing “mistake-free” when you cough up the ball but your lineman bails you out? Did Feliciano prevent the mistake or just the bad consequences of the mistake???

Here's a question. What QB developed something he didn't have in college, in the NFL?
Ryan leaf and his pill dependency?

I appreciate the effort. I was hoping there was a single source for league wide stats in this area. 36 is a lot of attempts of over 30 air yards, but I’m not surprised as Allen led the league in air yards per attempt last season. I’m guessing it’s way down this year.
is it a lot though? It works out to what? About 2 per start he’s made? 2 a game seems pretty reasonable to me. And 3 for 36 is pathetic. Not all those misses are solely Allen’s fault, but we all know many of them are. -

What's his accuracy% on throws 20 yard downfield?
I bet it's alot better and that IS considered a deep ball
Throwing 30-40-50 yards downfield has ALWAYS BEEN A CRAPSHOOT
Lies. Keep making excuses for the kid.

While that may be true, “star” power =/= winning.

Zeke appears to have added more nasal jewelry since the last time I watched him.

He was bad last year too. I literally have no idea why this regime gave him an extension.
He must fit McDermott’s “”””culture””””” obviously.

At this point I’d rather just see what we have in Allen. 40 throws isn’t to much for Jones, for Darnold, for Mayfield, for Murray. We need Allen to be able to shoulder a game, with his arm. At this point, I don’t think he can do it.
Oh I agree with you - he should be able to handle it. I am not seeing it. Yes, the coaching hasn’t helped at all and penalties on offense have killed some drives. But he appears to show the same few mistakes and bad tendencies every week.- 1

Yes, but perhaps until he gets it together, the O needs to take it off his shoulders. What kind of a “good play calling” OC can’t get a 3rd and 4 without pushing a long ball? That’s bull crap
I am sure the offensive line would appreciate getting to run block a bit more too. I don’t think throwing 44 times with Allen is really the recipe for success right now.

Every week that passes, I start to think that Josh Allen doesn’t have “it.”
Agreed. Unless by “it” you mean an incurable case of the yips.

I don’t know, both guys seem like below-replacement level players at this point. Which one do you want to chuck out there for 2 targets a game? Flip a coin.
I suppose Duke would get my vote because he can block, but we never hand the ball off anyways so who cares?
