  1. all that’s fair and I suspect the chemistry thing is the real underlying problem. At this point I am all for shipping Jones off as well (albeit not for the same reasons many other people want him gone); I am primarily worried about who takes his place for those 75-80% of snaps Zay currently takes.
  2. Just pointing it out. The breakup attempts are a separate issue from his supposed drops. Obviously all the receivers on the team better learn how to act as defenders, and quickly, given where some of these passes are headed once they leave Allen’s hand.
  3. It’s very possible as I’ve said. I’d rather look and see how exactly this stat house determines their adjustments but I’ll just assume they are looking at the route that was run and the pass placement. No way of knowing if Jones is, I suppose, running wrong routes all the time and that’s why it looks like Allen is under or overthrowing him. I doubt that, but it’s possible. Something tells me if Jones is constantly off on his routes he wouldn’t be on the field though.
  4. and does that sound smart to you if they did that? Trade away a contributor on a team that’s 3rd in the AFC for draft picks? Without really a proven replacement behind him?
  5. Allen is not accurately throwing to all of his “spots” and even implying that is one of the most blatant excuses for Allen’s poor play that I’ve seen. Beasley has as many drops as Jones. Knox has more.
  6. Very well could be. All I know is SIS’ statistics are cited by some of the Cover 1 guys who cover the Bills pretty religiously. I don’t personally know what their methodology is behind that stat but I’ll try to find out. And speaking of cover 1 Aaron Quinn went through every one of Zay’s targets this season today on twitter. Linking from my phone is a pain but its there. The tl;dr of his thread was: people are being psychos about Zay.
  7. doesn’t take into account uncatchable targets. SIS has Jones at 7/8 “catchable” targets in their adjusted catch% stat. That’s 87%.
  8. 89 yards and a TD in every game so far I believe. But hey it’s Gruden stranger things have happened. What would Buffalo want from Oakland? Pretty sure the Bills would want a player in return, not just a pick, unless they’re itching to ship Jones off for practically nothing and roll the dice with Foster (hurt) and Duke (a complete unknown). That wouldn’t be wise in my opinion, shipping out parts for picks on a 3-1 team.
  9. Waller IS being used as a WR basically was the point, in addition to the big free agent WR named and the guy they just drafted I also named.
  10. Coulda fooled me with all this talk of them attempting to trade away one of their top two WR.
  11. The heck we gonna do with kenyon drake? I thought everyone here loves Motor and wants to give him as many touches as possible?
  12. Could be, and that worries me too. If not getting drafted, practice squaded, cut, everything that happened to him last year only provided him with short-term motivation such that they had to bury him with the 3s this year in camp to try to re-motivate this year, then I’m not sure I want to be relying on Foster either. All for giving Duke a shot though.
  13. It was a WR for WR swap though. Nothing as far as the positional composition of the PS has changed.
  14. Interesting. So you’re familiar with these guys? (Serious question, as I said I am not familiar with this particular source.) I see they have a twitter account but it looks like they primarily just live-tweet the games.
  15. It is better at the top because of Brown and Beasley but Foster was also behind guys like Zay and Roberts all camp. Operating on the widely held assumption that “Zay sucks,” why is that?
  16. Can you trust Foster to step in though? Last year yes yes we know but this year he’s been either hurt or buried on the depth chart.
  17. Reallllly? Wow didn’t know that. He’s also like 2nd in the league in receptions and an ex-WR. My point stands.
  18. Raiders have T Williams, Renfroe and Waller already and wouldn’t part with any of them. I doubt it.
  19. Don’t know the source either but I certainly thinks it’s possible. The return? I’d assume he’d be packaged with a draft pick and they’re trying to get a receiver back.
  20. As I said, last week wasn’t the 1st week Allen’s missed like that. In fact, it appears to be becoming a pattern, especially with overthrows on deep balls. So I’m not crediting NE’s defense with much when he’s now done it against multiple opponents.
  21. Their defense didn’t cause him to under- and overthrow open receivers by 5 yards. Not the first week he’s done that either.
  22. Hurt, at least recently. And when he was healthy he wasn’t beating out luminaries like Zay Jones in camp.
