Zay Jones CAN be my Andre Reed. I need Chark to be my James Lofton.
Imagine Chark and DJ Moore catching 80 yard bombs from Lamar Jackson. That is, if Jackson can resist the frequent urge to just take off and run when his first read isn't there.

Obviously. It's nice to have a combination of physical and mental characteristics that project to success at the NFL level instead of hoping and praying one of these 2nd or 3rd tier prospects pans out against the odds.
But, but, but...DEREK CARR!!!! DAK PRESCOTT!!!!! RUSSELL WILSON IN THE 3RD!!!!!! DREW BREES WENT IN THE 2ND ROUND!!!!!!!!!

Which of these brings you closer to a championship: a franchise QB or a defensive tackle?

I can't access Astro's file here at the office, but, if it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet, Walter Football is showing that Roquan Smith had (or is going to have) a private visit with the Bills.
Would have to believe that Smith would be their target at 12, if they can't get a deal to move up to the top 5 or the 7 spot.- 1

Sadly it is showing they failed bad by letting the Jets get in under there cheap nose. IMO the other teams in the top 5 are saying either spend big or go home empty handed. IMO the OBD PR machine will be singing hard saying they tried but couldn't move up when IMO the truth is OBD went in trying to make a cheap Ralph Wilson trade and ended up the way OBD always ends up, on the outside looking in. Sadly IMO if a QB doesn't fall to us at 12 (if thats what they are thinking they already failed)we will not have one till round 2 or 3 and that will give this staff nothing but backup QBs the next 2 years. 2020 will be interesting on who OBD will be looking to come in to clean up McMess.
Which team will you be following on Sundays going forward? The Rams?

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
And I have never seen that uni you're wearing
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes
I have been blindLamar Jackson is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonightI've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, it took my breath away
And I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonightLamar Jackson is dancing with me, cheek to cheek

Why would we care if Cleveland takes a UDFA-level guy 1st overall?
Because, that means the Giants get Darnold, the Jets get Rosen and Denver gets Mayfield. That leaves us with Lamar "Tyrod Taylor 2.0" Jackson and Mason Rudolph.

I don't understand the premise here--I thought Allen was the most risky prospect and considered by a lot of pretty knowledgeable people to not even be worthy of being picked in the 1st rd let alone #1 overall?
Isn't this actually a really good thing for the Bills?
Not if it means Darnold is available to the Giants and they're no longer willing to trade the #2 spot.

This is just pure speculation on your part tho. If it was another NFL caliber defensive player like you suggest... Jackson would have found a way to adjust. It's what he do, that makes him so special
How do you know that?

Yea...so what's your point? He's a way better talent then Taylor. He scans the field like a QB, & can make every throw, & would of been over a 60% completion percentage if his WR's actually didn't drop the ball every game. Baker Mayfield is shorter then Taylor & he's a better talent. I'm sorry but I'm not understanding that logic
Please watch this video and show me definitive evidence to prove that Jackson "can make every throw." Please also take note of the game against North Carolina (where many here professed their eternal love for him) where he threw that long TD pass and ask yourself: if that had been a legitimate, NFL defensive back or linebacker, such as Jalen Ramsey or Myles Jack, would Jackson still have been able to elude that blitz or would he have been lit up on that play?

Thanks for this! If this is what the OP is getting at... then he must be the biggest Allen supporter. Allen going to any team other then the Bills will already be a great night! The Broncos might not spend high for a QB, plus they want to address other needs... I think we'll be fine... & if not Lamar Jackson is a great option at 12. I'm not going to repeat myself, but I'm very well documented on this forum on the improvement of Jackson & how he has more growth to go
I'm the OP and I am NOT an Allen supporter.
Also, Lamar Jackson is NOT a great option at 12. He's a 6 foot 3 inch version of Tyrod Taylor, who was traded. -

So....im confuse... How is Allen going 1st overall effecting the Bills??? Please help me understand this logic before I vote
If Allen goes #1, that leaves Darnold for the Giants. Word going around is that, if Darnold is available to them, the Giants won't trade out.
As a result, this means Allen goes #1, Darnold #2 and the Jets take Rosen at 3. At that point, Beane would have to do whatever it takes to get to #4 to take Mayfield, before Denver does.
If Beane can't get the Browns to agree to a deal, then he'll be stuck with Lamar Jackson and Rudolph at 12 and the majority of fans don't want either of them at 12. -

How do you know?
The guy only has 3 National Championships.
He also has never had a real shot
Because MAJBobby said so, based on the fact that he never surpassed Andy Dalton for the starting job in Cincinnati.

I would LOOOOVVVEEEEE this. So not sure why you are heavy sarcasm because Baker is the best QB prospect in this draft IMO. The Kap thing I could care less about since we signed AJ, but since you said sign Kap...sure, bring him in and let all 3 battle to see who should be the day 1 starter and should be cut (AJ or Kap). Baker might win the job outright and then the other two would settle who will remain as the backup. Or AJ and Kap battle it out for day 1 starter job, with the loser cut and Baker the backup until ready to take over the starter gig.

Mcbeane uses the picks to put together a Minnesota type team only with a great run game and mccarron plays well and we win a lot of games
Very, very doubtful that that happens.

If Browns go Allen #1 like rumored and many believe (I have also thought this for a while), then that could take Giants completely out of play for the #2 spot as its been reported they would probably not trade down and take Darnold if he is on the board. Could be just a smokescreen to drive the price up on the Bills though or any other team wanting #2. But, its quite possible Darnold will be there at #2 and might mean the last trade partner we could target is the Broncos at 5. Hopefully the rumors of them really liking Mason are true as they can easily get him at #12 in a trade back with us.
Trade up for Baker + Sign Kaepernick = SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!! <heavy sarcasm>
-
If Peter King's "report" is accurate, and the Browns do end up taking Allen #1, leaving Darnold at 2 for the Giants, should Beane and McDermott give up, trade down for a 2019 1st and tank for Justin Herbert/Drew Lock/Jacob Eason/Shea Patterson?

Word has it the Steelers and Broncos love Rudolph. Therefore, there is no way he lasts until 53; Beane would have to take him at 22 or trade up a few spots from 22 to get him.
Oh, and Rudolph comes from the same college system that begat Zac Robinson and Brandon Weeden. -

Those are the only 2 QBs worth moving up to the Top 2 for. If they can't, I agree with most assessments that they'll try to get to 4 to take Mayfield.
