  1. I agree with that...the lack of a receiving corps is obvious. Things got painful after Clay went down. Peterman would have done no better with no one to throw to. Tyrod may have to be prepared to use his legs more.
  2. I believe the opportunity for a decent trade has passed AND he is productive when healthy.
  3. I think that we should all be happy that this is one area of the team that we do not have to worry about right now
  4. I will be at the game! My daughter lives in Atlanta so we are both going. Looks like I might have to check out the tailgate.
  5. Not a bad article but I think that statistics hide the fact that offensive innovation and defensive success are like waves...some new "system"...like the K-Gun comes along and has some success until coaches figure out a way to defend it. I think what you are seeing is the success of defenses against the current "systems". Bigger, faster defenders are also a factor. The "Refrigerator" Perry was an oddity at 300 lbs 30 years ago, now he would be an average sized lineman.
  6. Let's be honest among us chickens here...Tyrod is merely a stop gap...nothing more. This is a new regime and they DO have a plan...unfortunately for the fans, the plan will take 2-3 years to bear fruit. Everyone has to keep a brave face on...I do believe that they are trying to win...the defense did a great job out there, but there are not enough decent players on the offense to have in a chance in the AFC East.
  7. That pretty much sums it up...that contract is a killer for the Bills. He doesn't seem motivated...I have seen guys have more emotion over popping a zit
  8. Agree with you 100%...poor game planning by the coaching staff. The defense gave us a chance to win, but the offense never made the changes necessary to make it happen. As much as I do not like Belicheck, he is a master of going into the locker room at halftime and making adjustments based on what he saw in the first half...not seeing it yet here.
  9. I think we have to wait until Carolina to see if he has truly progressed. The Panthers D is much more formidable than the Jets.
  10. Welll...I wouldn't get too excited yet. We did make it through the pre-season without any major injuries so that is good
  11. With the number of injuries in this league, I think that you have to have a 3rd QB on your roster. Teams are teeing off on QBs and Tyrod is not the most durable guy around. Even if you pick up a green "developmental" player and park him on the practice squad you have to have some insurance in this league.
  12. Why all the doom and gloom on this board? They DO have some talent on this team...obviously not enough to challenge the Patriots but enough to be respectable. Poor coaching and bone-headed decisions have been a major problem the last few years. Let's see how they do after the first three games before we toss in the towel.
  13. Some of this discussion may be decided by the results of the concussion protocol. If Taylor is still wobbly, Peterman gets his chance. Of course, the whole "we are tanking the season" crowd will come to life at that point.
  14. We really have to remember that this is a business...the problems that we have had in the past have come from drafting and keeping players from an emotional standpoint as opposed to their usefulness to the organization. Rex Ryan's love for his son's Alma Mater was great but he didn't to draft players from Clemson who didn't fit his scheme. I think the team did the right thing in trading Sammy.
  15. I disagree wholeheartedly...while the QB positions is one of the most important on the team, there are other positions that carry significant weight as well. Six picks in the first three rounds allows the team to build an unbelievable defense and a rock solid offensive line.
  16. I agree...this was a great move by the leadership. Unless the Bills were willing to unload some of the baggage from the previous regime, they can't move forward. It was a mistake to trade up for Sammy and we never got the production out of him that we should have...why keep him around because of emotional attachment. We are well stocked with draft picks to build the foundation for a "Patriots' like run of superiority in the AFC East...we just need a few good picks and some stability in the front office.
  17. No...realistically there are no good options out on the market. Even many of the starting QBs (see Blake Bortles) are not that hot.
  18. I think that this is a shrewd and calculated move. This front office has no ties to the previous one...the last two drafts did not produce talent that was a match for the current regime. No one expected the Bills to light it up this year...but now they are STACKED with draft picks for next year.
  19. I will be Hotlanta for the Oct 1st game and am then returning to Buffalo for the Bucs game on Oct 22nd.
  20. I have to agree with you on this one...let him compete for a spot. If he earns it, the fans will be happy and he will feel vindicated. If he doesn't, offer him the opportunity to retire as a Bill.
  21. I do feel good about the new regime. The biggest reason is that it appears that they are making decisions that we will lead to long term success. I never agreed with the Whaley era "splashy" draft moves. It is time for a shift in the division...there was a time when the Patriots were the laughing stock of the NFL (who remembers the Patsies?). They took a long term approach and have been reaping the benefits...time for us to return to the throne.
  22. I agree that the stats aren't the only thing that counts (especially if a QB puts up gaudy numbers and his team still loses), but it is not just TT who is responsible for wins and losses. The Defense has got to be able to protect a lead, the Kicker has to make FGs when the game is on the line, the Staff can't get penalized for too many players on the field (or too few).
  23. They are good for public relations...charity events, hospital visits etc. Show some good will folks...where is the love?
  24. I am optimistic...we finally have adult leadership with McDermott and Beane. The AFC East is competitive, but we should at least hit 8-8. The more important aspect is that we will build the foundation to replace the "soon to spend the rest of their short life in agonizing pain" Patriots when Tom retires in a year or two.
