5 best NFL teams you’ve seen in your lifetime
Richard Noggin replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can really gauge each poster's age by the composition of their list. Lots of recency bias in the first page or two, but some solid all-time lists emerging in the last two pages. Difficult to judge the validity of anything comparing eras. -
Panthers Willing to Listen to Offers for McCaffrey

To be fair (cue the Letterkenny enthusiasts), if you give any franchise QB that kind of o-line and RB, they should do some winning... -

Yeah! That's Josh Allen's job dammit! -

Okay, I'm listening. But you're being vague. How does a football stadium serve the community of Bills fans and the organization, exactly? Stadiums historically solve ZERO problems for the broader community in which they are built. They are expensive buildings where my favorite sport is played. And some overpriced concerts are staged. And a smattering of smaller, community-based partners hold fundraising events (which of course is a good thing). There is published support for this unfortunately skeptical position. -

Bill O’Brien interviewing for Jags HC

The "laugh" emoji isn't a strong enough reaction to this news. Because oftentimes the privileged rely upon well-established networks of privilege and pre-established protocols, rather than creative solutions to complex problems. -
Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!
Richard Noggin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The expertise exists to build an open-air stadium that nevertheless mitigates (maybe not eliminates, but drastically reduces) wind. And we know they want to cover the majority of fans. Why is everyone so obsessed with a dome? The stadium they intend to build would have drastically improved this season's gameday conditions. -
Josh Allen home/road splits
Richard Noggin replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
This point is ignored a lot this season: the bad weather for home games in 2021 essentially amounts to really bad luck. Plenty of glorious, mild weather in WNY all season, punctuated by some bizarrely isolated wet and/or windy and/or cold game days. Most seasons will have one or two notably bad weather home games. Can't catch a break this year, it seems. -
Redzone execution = Superbowl for this team...
Richard Noggin replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
So...situational football? Red zone is probably the most important "situation" in football. Has definitely been an issue in this team's losses. One could argue that the ability...and dedication...to run the heckin' ball in goal-to-go situations has been missing for much of the season, which then inarguably allows defenses to cheat against the pass. Mahomes and the Chiefs had to learn in 2021 how to be patient and physical on offense to beat the zone-heavy, deep safety looks. Allen and Daboll finally did it against the Patriots in Foxboro. And last week they ran the dang ball in the second half and especially in the red zone. Can they keep progressing in this way? -

Right, so is the mental health circumstance resolved already? If the medical reason given (mental health) for his uncommon and expensive early-season leave of absence is true, then aren't there a number of questions that need to be answered before any team, including his own, pursues his on-field services? Seems like you're glossing over some essential human stuff in search of talent.

But do we have any idea what caused the player to just walk away from the season, and where things stand now? Your post seems to be ignoring some important questions...

Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!
Richard Noggin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gotta be damn near a consensus among Bills fans, I'd think. Which is rare. Forget the run defense. Forget the weather. Forget the refs (although eff them, of course). The 2021 Bills can beat ANY team in the NFL when their offense lives up to (even a portion of) its potential. EVERY 2021 loss can be blamed on the offense, except probably/maybe the Colts game. One could still argue that if the Bills hadn't pooped the bed early, and especially hadn't turned the ball over (ahem, Isaiah, for example), that the game would have progressed differently. Either way. That's useless conjecture. 5 of their 6 losses this season involve the offense having a chance to win the game late and failing to do so. Not to mention any squandered drives and opportunities prior to crunch time. -

I think this sentiment is true of any game the 2021 Bills play: if the offense really shows up, then they've got a chance to beat any team. The Bills lose when the offense sputters. Periodt. -
Can't sell my two seats for more than free, so I'll be there. (I work six days a week and could use an effing break, is all. Anyone who wants 2nd row section 336...roughly 18 yard line, hit me up I guess. Otherwise I'll be forced to support my squad.)

But what about how HARD Josh threw that pass to Diggs yesterday? Anyone care to comment on that?
