We've all watched the Bills offense fall into these ruts where pre-snap motion disappears, where the pocket is never moved, where play-action is non-existent... I think back to the Cardinals game last year, during that abysmal 3rd quarter, when we were just dropping back repeatedly and the o-line was getting smoked. It wasn't until Mckenzie got on the field again and ran some sweep action that the offense woke up. Daboll seems to want every game to ideally be like that 49ers game where Josh just surgically picks apart a defense while standing flat-footed in the pocket all day/night. But our offense, and really any offense, has to keep defenses off-balance with motion and play-action and various looks to continually work.

NFL Officiating is an abomination for a 18B product

It's happening again on MNF. The refs are absolutely too involved in the games. It's pervasive. -
Mac Jones attempt to injure Brian Burns?
Richard Noggin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's okay to admit when your team is wrong. I know we don't think that way these days, in so many phases of life, but it's okay to admit when your team is wrong. -
That would require Daboll to call plays based on the flow of the game in real time. The Buffalo offense does NOT seem to run plays in organic sequences based on what's immediately happening on the field. Daboll seems to be an overthinker when it comes to play-calling, overlooking obvious and immediate adjustments in favor of premeditated plans.

He was CLEARLY limping on the play (on replay), favoring the braced right leg. At first glance, however, I also saw him just NOT react to the snap, but then on replay I saw him visibly hobbling after his man as the play ended. Did he get hurt? Did he act hurt to cover his ass? Is our suspect depth absolutely decimated right now? Is life worth living? I'm not sure what to do...

I found Taiwan Jones to be especially below average today on STs (penalties included), which is especially frustrating when our most all-around effective RB leaves the game and we're suddenly left with just Singletary at the position. McD MUST reevaluate his gameday roster management, given the lack of positionally-valid TEs and RBs compared to other teams. No opponent respects the Buffalo offense as a multi-faceted attack. The league has caught up to our formations and tendencies. The O-LINE NEEDS HELP OUT THERE! You can't be so predictable based on formation + down-and-distance when your offensive linemen are physically overmatched. Those players need the play calls and sequencing to help them at least have a fighting chance against their individual opponents. Now we're even being blitzed again. So the Bills are currently incapable of successfully attacking ANY of the schemes they're facing. This suggests a fundamental regression.

I've disliked his play-calling the entire time. Obviously the Bills offense has been productive with Josh Allen and Brian Daboll. But is that because of Josh Allen, or because Daboll calls such a well-sequenced game?
-
He admitted to sandbagging as a playcaller leading up to the KC game. He's not calling our best plays against lesser opponents. What the eff is with the bull#### first down play calls! If we can't run well, why the eff are we suddenly insisting on running on first down? It's not like Daboll is effectively catching defenses off-balance with play-action or any other such scheming off his horrible first down playcalling. So what is it other than arrogance and a lack of fundamental synchronization between the run and pass games?

SNF: Tennessee Titans at LA Rams, 7:20 on NBC

He struggles when he's frustrated. Clouds his judgment. He's admitted as much. Which is a shame, because I thought he was calm and controlled to start this game. -
Pretty good summation from Cover1

Do we all agree now that Cody Ford is not NFL-caliber? (Which isn't to suggest most of you were unaware of this. I simply wish to find consensus that part of the problem is that this high value asset has proven now to be a bust, but not before at least factoring into management's LACK of aggressive offseason upgrades to the interior O-line.) -

Borderline unwatchable product. Yet, we continue to watch/spend money, thus: why should the NFL care? Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. -
Trubisky to covid 19 list; Davis Webb elevated from PS
Richard Noggin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I tend to hope, with his continued privacy on the matter, that he's intentionally providing cover for his guys who have chosen not to get vaccinated (I assume it's more than just Beasley). I know he made early comments that strongly suggested an anti-vax inclination, but I agree with many who guess Josh Allen would place availability above his own potential personal reluctance. Often I think of Diggs's tweet in response to Beasley early on: something to the effect of "Availability. Accountability." That is the kind of football-based decision-making I hope won over Allen. Being vaccinated makes it more likely a player will be available more often. But there's so much we don't know and won't know, which makes this all quite thrilling. -
Dorsey. Former QB as OC for me. Solid relationship with Josh already. Probably has his own ideas about where he'd tweak the offense. The pipeline is already stocked. Plus, as I think one poster already alluded to, we could have our next QB coach-in-waiting in Davis Webb. He's doing the job of an offensive assistant already (did I read somewhere he also works with the defense a little?), works after hours with Josh on each week's gameplans, and can be seen during games working with Josh between drives on the sidelines. Their ritualistic training camp footraces alone get him an interview.

Okay, so...what IS? (I'm happy to be wrong, provided my wrongness is explained to me in ways that expands my haphazard understanding of a given subject. Just telling me I'm wrong isn't very useful to anyone. I didn't go back and research the Dareus/Hughes Orchard Park stupidity driving Olympics, so perhaps I'm oversimplifying...)

TNF: Jets @ Colts, 8:20 on Fox/NFLN
Richard Noggin replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Colts are not awful to my eyes. At all. They are physical, talented, and can put up points in bunches when Wentz is on his game. They run a balanced offense, driven by a solid o-line, which scares me for the Bills. (They can also apparently be scored on in bunches...mostly due to mediocre DB play, is what it looks like?) -
Meh, I guess I could deal with a downtown stadium. By the time it's completed I'd be around 50, so a new approach to tailgating wouldn't be SO bad. Really prefer a lot of seating coverage, and even some field, but WITHOUT a full roof (retractable or not).

Wouldn't the NFL love the narrative of this galvanizing Tennessee for a deep run? -
Singletary Appreciation Thread

This might be the first post I've read suggesting that, which I find fascinating. I've certainly wondered about Johnson's coaching as well. But from our vantage as fans, how could we know? It's possible Allen's playmaking covers up some deficits in offensive personnel and coaching. -
What would motivate the Colts to do that? Sincerely asking. Is Nelson not likely to re-sign there? How is Ford a valuable asset?

I would never ignore such a poster; might miss the gems. He disparaged a person working to improve his mental health (and having the courage to admit it publicly), labeled another human being he worked with "a hourly" (defined a person based on his monetary compensation structure) and celebrated that person's loss of said income while also cherry-picking a context-less anecdote to show us how LaZy people are now. An empathetic visionary.
