  1. Why do I think this thread will cause multiple heads to explode?
  2. I'm curious : You did bold "success when the group around him has been strong" because it's an absolute ludicrous statement, right? After all, the majority of Taylor's time starting his receiver corps has been an out&out dumpster fire. Maybe you got confused and thought the statement was about Matt Ryan - since the media wrote-off his abysmal game last Sunday because the poor dear was missing multiple all-pro receiving targets. After all, who is so crass as to expect Ryan to play well without Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu? That wouldn't be fair at all, would it?
  3. We saw Taylor down by 14 pts three separate times in a single game. We saw him forced by the Bills' defense to play in a total shootout. We saw him need to throw into the endzone on fourth down inside two minutes for the lead. This thing you claim is impossible happened only five games back with Taylor starting. Is it possible you don't remember? Let's review : Down by multiple TDs in a game? Check, several times over Forced to pass Check, opponent with 494 yds Last minute drive Check, TT TD pass with 1:20 left It almost seems like a laboratory experiment designed to prove your point, doesn't it? It also seems the purest example of the game situation you're describing. It also is the latest example of the game situation you're describing with Taylor playing. So does it prove your point? No?!? Maybe your point isn't as strong as you think........
  4. Hard to argue w/ this prediction.
  5. Poor Las Vegas notwithstanding, this is a game the Bills should win. But they would have made the playoffs last year by taking the games they should win. They would have waltzed into the playoffs by winning those games and closing out some of the upsets which slipped just out of reach. Atlanta could have slipped away, but didn't. Now they need to take care of business. Besides, 4&1 sounds so much better than 3&2....
  6. First Down %, per NFL Stats : 10th (Ahead of Drew Brees).
  7. But how much speed can he get up to?
  8. Try again. Correct answer : Non-existent ball awareness and an embarrassing play on the ball by a rookie. (Don't worry. He'll play better with experience)
  9. He led three separate 14 point comebacks in a single game against Miami, remember? It wasn't that long ago. And he led the team to it's first lead with a fourth down touchdown pass with under two minutes left. So, yeah, I guess we can cross that one off your list... If the amnesia over the Miami game is odd, your inability to recall something from nine days ago is downright bizarre. Because what happened when the running game was totally shut down against Denver? Offense. All by passing. So we can cross that one off as well.
  10. Sigh. I wish you wouldn't do that. The Bills go 8-1, you realize what you've committed to, your head explodes, and then everyone is robbed of your presence. Think of us, willya?
  11. And yet, if you go the NFL official stats, Taylor is tied for eighth by passing rating - with that Aaron Rodgers fellah. Even though he can't make the simplest throws, TT's completing 65.7% of his passes (14th in the league). Even though he's incapable of finding open receivers, he's tied for tenth at average yards per attempt with that Drew Brees guy, both at 7.5. First down throws? There he gets the better of Brees, coming in at 10th, to Drew's 11th. Pretty amazing what Taylor's accomplished given how incompetent he is, huh?
  12. Of course, you also have to deduct "plays left on the field" - and then it turns out - mathematically - that Atlanta won the game after all.... No doubt the Commissioner will soon issue a ruling.....
  13. Seems like Miami #2 he needed to pass, given the Bills were down by 14 points three separate times and the Dolphins put up 494 yards......
  14. So tell us : When was the last game the Bill's needed Taylor to win by passing and how did he respond? Of course, we'll do you the favor of disqualifying the Denver game - which the Bills won thru passing without the slightest run game (62yds on 25 carries, if I remember). So forget the Broncos, and go with the next game back. Lets see how well this cliche holds up.......
  15. All too easy : Taylor, in the 15 games that Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods played : 64% completion, 3,362 yards, +8 ypa, 26 touchdowns, 6 interceptions Taylor, in the 14 games missing one of those players : 61.2% completion rate, 2,697 yards, +7 ypa, 11 touchdowns, 6 interceptions. So apparently Taylor plays better with a legit Number One & Two receiver, just like every other damn quarterback in the NFL. So as good as he's been playing, he'd be much better still with better targets. Whoda thunk it? Also : Countless people have already made the injuries to Falcon receivers a determining factor in their loss. Apparently even a franchise quarterback needs quality receivers.
  16. Wow. This has to be the most absurd take I've ever seen on this board - which is saying a lot. Are we to go around the NFL and subtract the passes from every quarterback to his favorite target, or is just another one of those special Tyrod Rules? Or is this just more trolling?
  17. Uh, sorry - I don't think asking you one question a week meets the standard of stalking. But relax! You're now safe until next week......
  18. Yep. There is absolutely nothing Taylor can do playing which stops a first round selection of a quarterback. But if he continues to play well the Bills won't do some elaborate package deal to move up. And they'll bring Taylor back to shield the first-rounder they do pick.
  19. But are you still concerned about Taylor not being a starting-grade quarterback in the NFL? After Denver, you said he was nowhere close to proving that. Did the Atlanta game get you any nearer to seeing TT as one of the top 36 qbs in the league? I don't wanna put pressure on ya, but it would be nice to settle this point now, instead of waiting until after the Bengal's game.
  20. Thank you. It's amazing some people don't understand this.
  21. Yep.
  22. Another plus is Taylor's bad games are never completely horrible. Compared to Dalton's first game or Carr vs Washington, TT's worst never hits rock bottom. Even during the Carolina debacle, he kept plugging away and was efficiently inefficient (or inefficiently efficient). Taylor never loses his poise or lets things spiral out of control. The problem? There are way too many of those inefficient games. That's where I see his objective this year : Pare down those games to a bare minimum per season, then you get a lot of Jets-Broncos games, with an occasional Miami. And that would be a pretty damn good quarterbacking.
  23. Are we really still debating whether the Bills' awful situation at receiver has affected Taylor's play? That's absurd twice over : First, because it's both common sense and observed reality. Look around the league: Did you see how terrible Eli played when missing his top target? Did you see how Dalton's numbers dropped last season when he lost his weapons thru injury? Late in last Sunday's Pittsburgh game, there was one point when Roethlisberger had more targets to Antonio Brown than everybody else put together. Even the cliched argument "Tom Brady doesn't need receivers" doesn't hold up if you remember how mortal the #^$%^ looked in Game One, when scrapping the bench for people to throw to. And, of course, there's the recourse to simple numbers : Taylor, in the 15 games that Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods played : 64% completion, 3,362 yards, +8 ypa, 26 touchdowns, 6 interceptions Taylor, in the 14 games missing one of those players : 61.2% completion rate, 2,697 yards, +7 ypa, 11 touchdowns, 6 interceptions. Last point : Given how terrible a "pure passer" Taylor is, it's pretty amazing what good numbers he put up, just given a legit Number One&Two receiver to throw to.
