  1. And yet there's has been a huge difference between Brady's performance in games with and without Edelman. A difference stretching over multiple years and many seasons. A difference lasting long enough to amass 248 total td passes, which takes a good while - even for Brady. Now GoBills808, says you can't read anything into those numbers - for instance, a touchdown to interception ratio nearly three times worse with Edelman out of the lineup. So what do you think? Mere coincidence? Tom Brady (over multiple seasons) : With Edelman win percentage : .818. Without Edelman win percent : .684 With Edelman pass td-int : 215-44 Without Edelman td-int : 33-19 With Edelman td-in ratio : 4.9 Without Edelman td-int ratio : 1.7
  2. How can you limit Peterman to offense alone? Surely he outclasses everyone else on defense and special teams as well.
  3. Haldeman was playing quarterback at the time........
  4. Or maybe Milhous Nixon?
  5. Okay-dokey........ Of course I already knew quarterbacking statistics don't count re Tyrod, but apparently this post-modern development has now spread to his peers. I'm curious, tho : You've (of course) proved the numbers mean nothing, and I congratulate you. But let me know what your sense is : Did Edelman's absence affect Brady's performance or not? I await the benefit of your wisdom.......
  6. And yet when playing with Watkins & Woods (hardly super-receivers, but decent NFL grade targets) somehow Taylor's hands were less sticky. Kinda funny that. It might make a open-minded person wonder about his assumptions...... And prove it I did !!!
  7. Touche. So Brady relied on Edelman as a (rhetorical overkill alert) "crutch" thru enough season to tally up 248 td passes, but doesn't any more. Doesn't make the slightest difference to my point, does it? Because the people I'm responding-to insist receiver quality doesn't impact quarterback play. And it's amazing how often they bring up Brady as "proving" their point.......
  8. I think Taylor would be a very, very good quarterback if he could just eliminate his dead-zone games. Just raise the level of his bottom performances a notch. Obviously, I'm disappointed this season because he's already had two of them, Carolina & Cincinnati. Yes, it's fair to consider the circumstances but that only get's you so far. In this cold&brutal world excuses aren't welcome even if legit.
  9. I presume you're asking about Brady's. Short answer : I don't know how old those numbers are. In a way it's a moot point, because it's an article of religious faith to many on this board that good quarterbacks (not to mention GOAT quarterbacks) are unaffected by the quality of their targets. This is, of course, ludicrously absurd - but still people believe. However old the numbers they're a sufficient sample size to prove a point.
  10. And yet with a legitimate Number One and Two receiver to throw to, Taylor did see ( cue Amazing Grace .....). With his offensive linemen standing proud & tall, no less. Kinda makes you wonder if Taylor's height or the o-line's stature isn't just another red herring......
  11. Reading comprehension is an important life skill, along with basic knowledge of the facts - Taylor's stats in the 15 games with both Watkins and Woods playing : 63.6% comp. 8.25 YPA. 27 TD passes. 6 INTs. Now, did his performance suffer with Walter Powell, Brandon Tate, and Justin Hunter? Sure. That's to be expected. Let's look at another data set : Tom Brady since 2009 : With Edelman win percentage : .818. Without Edelman win percent : .684 With Edelman pass td-int : 215-44 Without Edelman td-int : 33-19 With Edelman td-in ratio : 4.9 Without Edelman td-int ratio : 1.7 The problem remains : Watkins and Woods were nowhere close to being the premium One & Two receiver pair in the league, but just their presence led to pretty damn good quarterback play from Taylor. So where does that leave all these hysterical theories "proving" Taylor is incapable of even the most basic QB skills? It leaves them looking pretty foolish.
  12. The Bills could easily win the next five : Bucs, Raiders, Jets & Saints (all at home) and the Chargers on the road. That would put them at 8-2, with two Miami games still on the schedule. Eleven wins is quite doable though any attempt (ANY attempt) to bring in some receiver would help show some seriousness.....
  13. Well, let's do this again : With a decent (not great) set of NFL-level targets, Taylor has performed well - with a good completion percentage, exceptionally good yardage per attempt, and an exceptional touchdown to interception ratio. The numbers proving this have been posted on this board so many times I don't think it's necessary to do so again, but will if prompted. Every attempt to claim Taylor is intrinsically incapable of playing quarterback because of (insert one of the hysterically overstated fanboy "flaws" here) runs into the problem of those numbers : Give Taylor decent (not great) talent and he performs better than the average quarterback. Please note the numbers don't prove Taylor is one of the best quarterbacks in the game, nor has anyone claimed they do.
  14. Is there a stat for everything ?!?
  15. I think they are the games with both Watkins and Woods. As for the completion percent, I agree it's not much better than average. But combined with an exceptional YPA, still pretty good. You see, no one here is trying to make the case Taylor is one of the best quarterbacks around. That would be as absurd as the opposite case, The only problem is there are plenty of people claiming the latter, facts be damned.
  16. "Most of his stats are padded stats when the game is already over" Really? Prior to the Bengals game, Taylor was eighth by NFL (not ESPN) passer rating. How much of that was "padded" because the game was already over? Do you really believe this nonsense you're spouting?
  17. Wow. What a epic mega-way to miss the point !!! Let me reiterate as clearly as possible : If Taylor REALLY couldn't do all these things sofa-coaches claim, then he wouldn't magically be able to (suddenly) do them when he has normal-grade receivers to throw to. The fact that he can complete 63.6% of his throws for 8.25 yards per attempt and 27 touchdown passes with only 6 interceptions when playing with decent (not great) receivers suggest the laundry list of his crippling flaws is wildly-exaggerated fanboy nonsense. That's what I meant....
  18. Apparently "what's upstairs" didn't help Peterman complete better than 54.4% of his passes, for anything better than 5.7 yards per throw, or for anything longer than 28 yards. This, mind you, in preseason, against the 2s-4s, playing against vanilla defenses, when nothing counts. Youda think that extra inch would have counted for more, huh?
  19. You're telling me. Let's review recent "conclusions" about Taylor : He can't see over the line He can't see the whole field He can't read defenses He can't get rid of the ball on time He can't throw with accuracy He can't "lead receivers" He can't make decisions He can't throw over the middle And so on, ad infinitum ...... Here's Taylor's numbers the last two years throwing to a moderately good pair of receivers (Watkins & Woods) - not super all-pro, but moderately good : 63.6% comp. 8.25 YPA. 27 TD passes. 6 INTs Isn't amazing that a quarterback with so many irredeemable flaws can perform so well with decent (not great) NFL talent to work with?
  20. Tyrod's stats in the 15 games where both Watkins and Woods plays : 63.6% comp. 8.25 YPA. 27 TD passes. 6 INTs The common denominator seems to be people saying nonsense because they don't have a real point to make.......
  21. Pretty strange, huh? (1) The Taylor Haters are so committed to the purity of their passion they insist it must make no difference TT is playing with scrubs. (2) So you show them it makes a difference indeed. Given a legitimate Number One & Two receiver to throw to, Taylor has played pretty well (3) So they retreat to "real quarterbacks don't need receivers" because they "elevate" dross into gold (4) So you show them that's nonsense, using his Bradyness Himself as an example (5) So they retreat into ..... wait for it ...... saying it must make no difference etc, etc, We could just re-post the same numbers that started this. They're pretty clear cut, after all. But the Haters would lead us on the same circular dance I'm sure......
  22. Off topic joke : Every day a guy goes into a bar and orders up three shots in a row and downs them all. After weeks of this the bartender asks : What's with the three shots thing? The guy says two are for my two brothers, who are fighting overseas. Then the guy comes in and orders two shots. With a sinking feeling, the bartender asks if his brothers are OK Sure, the guy replies. But I quit drinking.
  23. Sigh. You made you pull out the calculator, damn you. Plus-twenty yard pass plays AFTER Cincinnati : Taylor : 12 out of 136. Taylor : .088 Dak : .073 Russell : .084 Deshaun : .103 Rodgers : .089 Stafford : .064 Rivers : .072 Alex S : .089
  24. You might want to check out some replays and see a neurologist. Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome ( ie - amnesia ) is a serious health problem......
  25. Close. I think all the carping over his running got in his head.
