  1. I guess it depends on ones own opinion of what constitutes "closing the gap" and whether you consider it relevant. Personally I don't care what kind of team they put together on paper or how their actual team has performed against other squads, with or without Tua. I can only go with the body of work I posted in the opening. Miami has not won a playoff game in over 20 years. 20! They are 2-9 since JA17. Their 2 wins were a game winning Charles Clay dropped TD pass and last years game in Hell from being 0-11. But because they barely beat us with no Tre, Hyde, Poyer in the game, starting Hamlin and Johnson 🤮. Morse getting injured with Quessenberry butchering every other snap they still only manage a 2 point victory though still thoroughly outplayed offensively. Then the WC game. I won't detail since I'm pretty sure you know what the team endured before the game. They may very well be better this year. Lord knows everybody thinks so. But until they actually sweep or put a good thumping on the Bills or maybe win a division title and a playoff game I say no. IMO they have not "closed the gap". Yet.
  2. The first was a great movie but, like The Godfather I enjoyed the second one more. Of course it's JMHO...
  3. Winston Churchill once said, "When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us." Or something like that. HBD Marv!
  4. Good stuff. He was my favorite Bill in the late 90's and early 2000's.
  5. Why not the same breath? Achievement wise Miami hasn't won the division since 2008. They haven't won a playoff game in over 20 years. Bills have 3 straight afce titles and playoff appearances in 4 straight and have 4 wins in that span. Because of the recent body of work, let's say the last 5 seasons. Before beating an injury riddled team in 105 degree heat while still yielding 500 yards of offense and a moral victory loss with a backup QB they've lost 9 of 10 head2head match ups. Most of them in a throttling, behind the woodshed type fashion. Not saying they won't be a better team this year. Just saying once again, what have they proven?
  6. Is Jaquan Johnson still on the team? As long as he and Cam Lewis are gone I'll be ok.😋
  7. I feel bad for what happened to the kid but this stuff (heart attacks) happen everyday to people, young and old and they are owed nothing. If he deserves it so be it. But I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was screaming at the TV whenever he was out of position or took a horrible angle to the ball carrier that ran by him. IMO he's not very good and is a liability when he's on the field. I wouldn't cut a potential difference maker (Morris, Isabella, Sternberger or take your pick) for a Safety I hope doesn't see the field.
  8. Hate Twitter X lately. It's littered with delusional Dolphins fans talking about how elite Tua is.🤣
  9. Gun to my head, I'm going with Dotson. I'd love to see someone like Spector make a push and show us something. Bernard seems more a Milano back up than a starting MLB. Wish Beane was more aggressive acquiring a veteran player in FA other than Klein which I kinda feel will be cut.
  10. Where in Bridgeport? I was born and raised there. Lived in Connecticut until I retired from law enforcement in 2010. Don't remember a backer bar or I would have been there. All I had was the Sports Page on Park Ave. Memories 😁
  11. And what credible outlet do you use as a resource? You'll find plenty of analysts and pundits on NFL Network, PFF, etc saying the same thing.
  12. Would you feel better if you heard it from Bill Nye or Neil Degrasse Tyson?
  13. Rookie coach that backed into the playoffs is better? I kinda understand considering how McD has handled the last 2 postseasons, but I feel it's too soon to debate. Almost lost is still a loss and if you look at the stats of that game it was more of what Buffalo did wrong instead of what Miami did right. Personally I'm more worried about the Jets. Their D has proven legit and gave us fits. Bills always put up monster numbers against Miami.
  14. I don't feel it is valid. Yes they have improved, so has every other team to an extent. Do they belong in the conversation with other perennial playoff teams? IMO, no. Buffalo has beaten the Dolphins I believe 9 out of 11 since JA17, most in dominant fashion. They have been in the postseason 4 consecutive seasons (4 wins) and have 3 consecutive division titles. Miami? Backed into the playoffs last year and hasn't won one in 20 years. Great team on paper though 😂 I understand this can change at any time like it did with our Bills and it just might this season, maybe.
  15. Never mentioned a link. Referring mostly to YouTube sports videos, Twitter, podcasts and fans in general.
  16. Give me a game with 2 evenly healthy teams and maybe we'll get an answer. That game would've been different with a healthy Von, Micah and Daquan along with Tre, Gabe and Poyer less than 100%. Not trying to make excuses, all I'm saying is head to head 100% healthy this team can beat and at times embarrass anybody.
  17. If we acquired Hopkins or someone of that status then maybe the thought would have a little credibility. He is the only legitimate #2 WR and deep ball threat opposite Diggs. We can't go into the season with Diggs and 18 slot receivers. Unless he plans on betting on himself I think Beane signs him long term. Got a good feeling about Davis this season.
  18. Wow! Wasn't going that far back but OK, point taken.
  19. I'm worried more about the Jets than Miami. Legit QB though aging and a defense that caused us fits last year. Bills have yet to have issues moving the ball against Miami. Too soon wouldn't you say?
  20. They will face these defenses: Bills 2x Jets 2x Pats 2x Eagles Ravens Dallas Giants are decent and the Chargers handed them an whipping last year as well. That's quite the gauntlet Tua has to go up against. I have nothing against the guy but I can't see him surviving the season without some type injury.
  21. Do the numbers lie? Thoughts? Personally I'm growing tired of how their fans and the media keep hyping this team. Yes, they have a decent team on paper but what have they proven? Constantly being mentioned in the same breath as KC, Cincinnati and Buffalo. Now I do realize the final score is all that matters. But is it really that close when you look at the numbers? Week 3/ Miami 21 Bills 19 Total yards. Miami 212 Bills 497 Passing. Miami 171 Bills 382 Rushing. Miami 41 Bills 115 Avg play. Miami 5. Bills 6 3rd Downs. Miami 37% Bills 61% TOP. Miami 19:20 Bills 40:40 Wildcard Game/ Bills 34 Miami 31 Total yards. Miami 231 Bills 423 Passing. Miami 189 Bills 316 Rushing. Miami 42 Bills 107 Avg play. Miami 3 Bills 6 3rd Downs. Miami 25% Bills 56% TOP Miami 27:47 Bills 32:13 I'll spare you the details of all the injuries and misfortunes that fell upon our team last year. Buffalo has dominated this team more than any other. Statistically its not even close! I just don't get the hype.
  22. Their O Line is still not very good except for a LT that's hurt just as much as Tua.
  23. I've been to many games at Giants Stadium for both Jets and Giants. I've found the Giants fan base quite knowledgeable and friendly. Jets fans? 😂😂😂 I'm surprised they're not 32nd. Bunch of brain dead sperm droppings.
