  1. 1. They needed a bridge/backup type QB and they got one at a great price for being patient. 2. Don't exactly have the cap space to go "big money" shopping plus the contract given to Star doesn't help either. They did well with what they have and next year will be soooo much better for acquiring FA's. 3. By "allowed" if you mean watch a divisional rival blow their draft pick load to move up 3 spots, yeah you're right. If you think that price was worth it I'm glad your not our GM. I expect the Bills to make a move for a QB, just not a stupid one. 12, 22 and 53 should do it, if not keep the picks and go BPA and fill the glaring holes at LB and WR.
  2. BUST.....Dumb as a box of rocks. Can't comprehend NFL level playbooks.
  3. This would be the ideal situation considering current circumstances. Foles/McCarron and Nate P is pretty darn good. We can address our LB and WR positions with some quality talent. You can do a lot worse than a SB MVP and borderline starter as a back up.
  4. The #3 is worth 2200 a 600 point difference from #6. 37(530), 49(410) and for the sake of guessing let’s say middle 2nd next year 420. Are you telling me they paid over 1300 points for 600 point difference to move 3 spots? Holy Snikees! What will it take to get 2? What will Gettleman ask for and will Beane pay it? Bust out the KY guys, I can see him asking for 12, 22 and next years first and a second rounder.
  5. 3 for 10 is ridiculous. I don't want it to seem I don't like the pick up because I do and let's face it, everybody expected it. I saw him as a max 3 for 20 type. Team has soooooo many holes to spend that much on him. That figure was quoted in the article and not my opinion. I feel he's a 3 for 20 type player.
  6. You know what makes players like Short, Davis and Kuechley better players? Superior talent to what we have in comparison. If you think Star is going to make what we have which is yet TBD Pro Bowl caliber then I have no words. Quoted from an article I agree with 100 percent : You'd think that teams would have learned from the Ndamukong Suh and Albert Haynesworth disasters by now, but apparently not. The thing is, Suh and Haynesworth were infinitely superior to Lotulelei. Both players, at the time they signed their deals, were seen as stellar defensive tackles who could both stuff the run and generate heavy interior heat on quarterbacks. Lotulelei, conversely, is just a one-dimensional defensive tackle. He's strong against the run, but doesn't produce much of a pass rush. I don't understand the money in this deal. Heading into free agency, I thought Lotulelei would get something like a 3-year deal worth $10 million. There's no way he's even worth half the sum Buffalo gave him. It's nice that he played under Sean McDermott in Carolina.
  7. Dude, it's not hate. How would you feel if you were shopping for a Honda Accord and the salesmans opening price was $65k? Sure it was one owner and dependable and started every time but C'mon man!
  8. Looks like Preston wasn't WANTED as much as he was NEEDED.
  9. Maybe he's thinking of Aldon Smith. Brown never played for SF
  10. You've seen him play right? How much could he reasonably expect for a contract? Him and McCarron must have the same agent.
  11. He commented that he wanted to go somewhere where he was wanted. Well, I guess Cincy wanted him to the tune of a 1 year deal. Bye Preston, best of luck. He's Poz 2.0 without the injuries.
  12. I wonder what the league leader in tackles got for a contract?
  13. Can't argue that. GMs aren't exactly bashing his door in are they?
  14. Shoot, then maybe he should have gotten 15 mil instead. I'm well aware of what he does but he's no Pat Williams or Haloti Ngata. Look dude I know what position he plays and what's required of it. All I said is that it's a lot of money for a 1 dimensional DT which is what he is. I don't need an education from you on the specifics of a 0 or 1 tech. If you're happy with him that's awesome. I stand by my comment that he's the Preston Brown of DTs. Maybe he should get 15 mil per because he's durable and makes a lot of tackles? There are plenty here that agree but you're not hammering their opinion are you? He fits scheme and is a need, fine. Lotta money for a " space eater".
  15. Florida State Assistant Coach.
  16. From what I've seen this message board seems to be the only source taking Rosen in a trade up.
  17. WOW!! Glad its not my money. No way he's worth that. Don't get me wrong, he's a good signing but 10 mil per. Betcha Suh signs for the same if not less.
  18. I understand he's a fan favorite but why add another year when you can just ride out his contract and then determine whether he should be brought back instead of being on the hook. They did it with Meatball and it worked out pretty well.
  19. 27 for Mayfield?
  20. Sailed? Hasn't even left the dock. Teams have to be wary of his injury history. 3yr 25mil 15 guaranteed should do it. Make it happen Beane!
  21. 1. Neither could Aaron Rodgers from Farve or Steve Young from Montana. Grant it Dalton isn't a HOFer but you don't bench your franchise QB whose had more success than failure. 2. Neither did Marino or Kelly, though Fitzpatrick pretty much aced it. The Wonderlic is a BS measuring stick.
  22. I stopped reading right there. All I need is another QB that can't throw receivers open and locks into one in particular. Unfortunately I have a bad feeling he is the one OBD has their eye on. High ceiling, canon arm and his physical traits are appealing. And we just acquired the right kind of QB to bring him along while he takes in the pro game.
  23. Hope you're right. I'd hate to think its because their embarrassed they overpaid for 1 dimensional DT.
