Incognito's Retirement? [update: Now Released]
billsbackto81 replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good player but far from a difference maker. Better than what's in place but I'm sure Teller and others will be up to the task. Let him be someone else's head case. -

Tony Garcia OT Released By Pats
billsbackto81 replied to starrymessenger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have the Pats ever released a prospect or relatively young player that went on to another franchise and become a star or serviceable player? I'm not saying a FA they chose not to sign. Can't think of any off the top of my head. -
Cover1 - Tremaine Edmunds post draft video
billsbackto81 replied to MtlBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have stored this video along side my Jenna Jameson collection considering the similar reaction that occurs when I watch them. He's a sure tackler no doubt. His amazing speed is the difference maker. I rather see him make a sure tackle on a player for a loss of yardage than a big hit on a player after a 7 yard gain. -
Cribbs wasn’t lower echelon, he just wasn’t well liked. I love FJ but he was not better than Cribbs but was loved by the fans. What did his disposition have to do with his talent? He didn’t like playing in Buffalo. Never heard that one before. He was a great RB but admittedly did make decisions that didn’t exactly please the fan base.

As my username says, backto81. Joe Cribbs was the one player growing up following football that I truly admired. His skill set during that era was a real pleasure to watch. Remember the network show "Superstars" back then? He was a regular. Great RB... But..... I'm a big T. Thomas fan and enjoyed watching every game he played of his HOF career.

I can put a #12 on the back of this jacket and still go out on your home field and still beat your team by 30 points. God I hate this guy!!! -
Mike Gillislee in danger of not making Patriots roster
billsbackto81 replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct. I should have stated he was given the lowest tender and not one that would require compensation from an interested team (ala Chris Hogan). -
Mike Gillislee in danger of not making Patriots roster
billsbackto81 replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I too remember his interview when he showered the Pats with praise over how they conduct their organization and how everyone buys in without question. Do you question it now Mike? I get it though because it is a business and all of us would have followed the money. Bills dropped the ball not tendering him. -
Brian Cushing still available

Edmunds & Milano = Our Kuechly & Davis
billsbackto81 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spot on opinion. Edmunds has Pro Bowl potential if he can start to diagnose better and not over pursue while Milano still has plenty to work on though his knack for coverage is not lacking. -
Shaq is a decent player but was obviously overdrafted though many pundits did have a first round grade on him. That being said unless he reinvented himself in the off-season all he is is a decent depth player on a rookie contract. Rotating Hughes, Murphy, Yarborough and Shaq is not a horrible situation.

As mentioned Zay had shoulder surgery to repair what he says was a performance hindering obstacle. Allen I think would be the perfect type QB for Zay. He throws a zippy tight spiral which helps a WR who is a considered a "hands" type receiver. Also since the ball is coming in hot it won't give him any time to think " man I hope I don't mess this up". Just a thought.

I'm sure Tre White (4 picks), Marshon Lattimore (5 picks) and every other player that finished ahead of Jamal (0 picks) in the running for DROY found this amusing. At this point you would think he'd enjoy catching a interception from ANY QB. Probably only caught the one he has highlighted on Twitter because Tre' had his man locked down. LoL..

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming
billsbackto81 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What if that little weasel ends up being a perennial pro bowler who averages 4k/ 35 tds a season and Humble Pie Allen becomes a career back up that's out of the NFL in 5 years? Fans will always take the uber productive a-hole over the community serving, great guy, hard working can't hit the ocean from the sand kind of guy. Do you see Tyrod anywhere around here? I too dislike Rosens' persona in comparison to Allen but all of that would have been overlooked if he was picked because he'd be a Buffalo Bill now. I want Allen to succeed soooo bad as I feel he's the jolt this team needs at QB badly. If you followed any of what McBeane is trying to instill in this team the past season then you'd know what they want in a QB. Character (still pending), hard worker, big, mobile, arm strength, coachable. A lot of the things Rosen lacks though no doubt he's the more polished of the two. Here's hoping that cocky Keebler elf doesn't prove the previous 9 GMs wrong. -
I think he has a very good chance to start over KW. I think Meatball will be the one used in heavy rotation to keep him fresh because as much as I love the guy he's not the same guy he was 3-5 years ago.

EXACTLY why I think Beane blew the '18 draft. -Rd. 1
billsbackto81 replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing McBeane screwed up in this whole draft process was underestimating the Jets and letting them leapfrog them to #3. Kudos to NYJ for realizing the urgency and buying a top spot early to acquire a potential franchise QB when they knew others would be hovering like vultures. We may never know which QB of the top 4 OBD wanted because they didn't secure a spot fast enough but one thing is certain, it wasn't Rosen like so many here wanted. No, they are not taking a DT at 12 when they already acquired one in FA and the draft was pretty deep at that position to begin with. They ended up getting a highly touted DT anyway by being patient so kudos to them on that. At #22 options were available at WR and OL but when you see a blue chip LB still on the board (a BIG position of need I might add) you make the move. Edmunds is a beast, freak of nature type player who excels in coverage and sideline to sideline pursuit which is perfect for the McD scheme. If Allen is the QB they wanted all along then they did outstanding not having to give up the other first pick to get him. If they wanted Mayfield or Darnold , well they got gut punched. Personally I think Darnold is the only other QB they might have preferred over Allen. Darnold being the better QB while Allen being the better physical athlete. Bills were not walking away from this draft without THEIR QB! Going into the season with Mr. Katherine Webb, Peterman or (Rudolph, White, Lauletta, Ferguson or whoever else) wasn't going to cut it. Hit us back in 3 years when it all pans out. -

I like the precision in Rosens' game. Very fluid and his ball placement is pretty. But,........ He is 2 or 3 concussions from a second career in tennis. Considering how the NFL treats possible concussions with the new protocol he might not make it to year 3. He'll be going up against the Rams, Hawks and Niners defenses twice a year. God bless him. Allen is a brick of a man and is suited for NFL punishment and Western New York.
