Zach Cunningham signs extension with Houston
billsbackto81 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Milano but 14M seems kinda high for a player who is lacking in LOS impact and tackling technique. Yes, he is exceptional in coverage and suits this team very well, but 14M? Nah... It's just not an amount a team can absorb with your franchise CB, MLB and QB coming up. Maybe he may be worth that much to another team running a similar D, but that's a big maybe. -
Youse ready for part deuce?
billsbackto81 replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just make sure Sam's up to date on his vaccinations. I must admit I'm a little concerned about your backups instead of your starters. It looks like they actually play with heart and actually want to win. -
Thanks Hausch!! At least you didn't let us down in the playoffs. Good luck That is a very good point and most likely factored in the final decision.

Wonder what Bill Buckner's glove went for? -
I actually enjoyed it somewhat, but they should've introduced Darkseid instead of using Steppenwolf. Possible prelude if there's a sequel.

Cards make Baker the highest paid safety in the NFL
billsbackto81 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darius Slay and Byron Jones make more than that and though they are high caliber corners they are nowhere near as good and consistent as Tre (or Gilmore for that matter). Look for Tre to reset the market at 18 per and look for Gilmore to renegotiate as well as he's only making 13 mil and is the current DPOY. -
Maybe take a chance on Nigel Bradham? I hear he's available.

Never said he was 1st round material Gunner, just an interesting prospect. I'm sure you're aware many analysts and draft gurus had him as a late 1st, early 2nd. I agree with you though, he wouldn't have been my 1st pick and neither would Shaq. Obviously in hindsight Chris Jones or Myles Jack would've been nice.

Checking in on Jets: O-Line and WRs STRUGGLING
billsbackto81 replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any given Sunday, right? But seriously, if we lose to this Jets team in our house on opening day. Oh Lord!!!! I can hear the sharpening of the pitchforks now. -
Many of us including myself considered him an interesting prospect back in 2016. He was pretty much supposed to be what Milano is for us now. Smallish LB that excels in speed and coverage skills who's not much of a thumper. He went #20 right after we picked Lawson @ #19. He never panned out so far but may excel in this particular defense.

You're right Gunner, just saw that. I don't follow WC teams that closely. Thanks? -
Melvin Ingram III trade scenarios - Bills mentioned
billsbackto81 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Melvin Ingram is an OLB or at least he was. AJ is a D- Lineman. I'd stick with youth and potential over age. -
Too bad Wallace couldn't do the same to Landry. ? He will be the highest paid when it's done. Probably somewhere around 18 per.

Bills have Ziggy Ansah on their radar

Ngakoue? Clowney? Unfortunately there's a list of reasons why they're available. Not always. He seems healthy between the months of February and August. -
Ngakoue Watch is officially on!

Because bringing in a "Big Name" player would put butts in the stadium seats! Oh, wait............. -
And apparently a sense of humor doesn't fit yours. It was a joke, Gunner seemed to get it but I guess it doesn't support your agenda of defecating on my thread. Seriously dude what is your problem? Have you ever expressed an opinion someone didn't agree with? Over 200 responses on this thread but yours are the only ones I have to debate and in a nasty manner no less. Some agree, some don't. Sit back, have a Flying Bison and relax will you.

True, but up until this upcoming season Baker has had significantly more talent to work with and has woefully underperformed. Josh's 1st season was a throw away, roster purging, cap cleansing type of season. Basically a "lets see what we got to work with" type season. Last year we got a taste of what he can do with actual playmakers. And now like you said we get to see if these guys are truly franchise material.

If you're looking for actual narrative and articles you won't find any, that's why I consider it a pass. If it's not talked about then its either accepted or overlooked. Maybe it's wrong to assume they're getting a "pass" as I'm sure they've received their fair share of negative criticism in their circles. But not to the extent Josh gets which reaches national exposure. And dude, what's with the name calling? Oh well, at least it took over 200 posts before someone resorted to it. ?

https://therichreport.com/2020/03/24/no-more-excuses-for-the-buffalo-bills-and-josh-allen/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasmcgee/2020/08/14/josh-allen-has-no-excuse-for-failure-after-dion-dawkins-extension/#16d708371ae8 https://billswire.usatoday.com/2020/07/31/bleacher-report-josh-allen-buffalo-bills-concern/ https://www.nfl.com/videos/pff-three-2019-playoff-teams-unlikely-to-return-in-2020 LOL! 10 pages in and I'm surprised it took this long for some poster to bash an opinion. There's plenty more material out there if you care to search. No QB from this class gets the criticism Allen gets. Mayfield, the #1 overall gets a pass because you don't give up on a #1 regardless of the superior talent around him, even if he did regress in 2019. Darnold gets a pass because he's on a dumpster fire of a team with atrocious coaching. Jackson gets a pass because well, he's earned it. And just to be clear I never said that the other QB's are not feeling pressure to perform, just that it doesn't get written and commented on like the criticism thrown at Allen. And yes, I do peruse other message boards to read, not comment. Darnold is still considered vastly superior to Allen at JetsNation to which they blame coaching and lack of talent. At the Dawg Pound they blame coaching and the dreaded sophomore slump. I'm not making excuses for him, if he deserves the blame for not progressing than that's on him. Just tired of the same old narrative we've been subjected to since we drafted him. He's improved every year and has accomplished more than his contemporaries outside of Jackson.

Not a weakness, just not a position of strength. True, McD's defense is player friendly for those that excel in coverage and recognition.
-
I love our D but I wouldn't exactly go that far. Our DL is strong and deep. Our safety duo is strong and disciplined. But,...... Outside of our All Pro CB we have nothing but a ? on the other side. Wallace who is serviceable but also gets taken behind the woodshed every so often. Norman who may have a renaissance under McD but it would be foolish to think he'll lock down the #2 spot after a few seasons of sub par play in Washington. Our slot DBs are solid. LB? We have a young, supremely athletic MLB who still suffers from lapses in judgment (arrow pointing up) and a OLB who is a coverage specialist that lacks thump and tackling proficiency ( but a great fit in this scheme) The benefit for these 2 is that they're young and entering their 3rd season playing together. Klein is JAG who like Norman may find a rebirth in this system. And yes, I understand we can't have an All Pro at every position? And yes I do believe this is a Top 5 unit in the league.
