Week 1: Jets at Bills (-6.5)
billsbackto81 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you see anything here to worry about? Advantage? WR Perriman vs Diggs LT Becton vs Dawkins LG Lewis vs Spain C McGovern vs Morse RG Van Roten vs Ford RT Fant vs Williams TE Herndon vs Knox WR Crowder vs Beasley WR Hogan vs Brown QB Darnold vs Allen RB Bell vs Singletary 3-4 D vs 4-3 D DL Q. Williams vs Hughes DL S. McLendon vs Butler DL H. Anderson vs Oliver vs Addison OLB Jenkins vs Milano ILB Williamson vs Edmunds ILB Hewitt vs Klein OLB Basham CB Desir vs White CB Austin vs Norman S Maye vs Hyde S McDougald vs Poyer This could get ugly for the Jets even if they play to their potential. I think our 2nd string would give their starters a hellava game. I highlighted the Jets I have some concern for. Anderson is only included because he's a cheap shot SOB. I expect our Defense to feast on this weak, unproven O-Line. -

Didn't he start the carnage in what was the infamous Nate Peterman interception party. -
IF the Bills don't win the AFC East - -what's next?
billsbackto81 replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When building a team the objective is to continually progress and improve in all factors. Offense, Defense, Coaching, etc. This above all else is what's to be expected in the hopes it leads to a championship. There were many games last season where the Bills played poorly or mediocre and still eeked out a win. Jets, Cincy Miami, Tenn come to mind. Hey, good teams find a way to win, right? The competition is much harder this year and its actually feasible to go 8-8 or 9-7 and still be an improved team, just not in the win column. Remember other teams are trying to win as well and aren't going to lie down just because the Bills are favored and supposedly the better team on paper. Windows to compete for a title are usually small as it becomes more and more difficult to keep a caliber team intact. This core IMO has the next 3 years to make it happen providing everyone continues to maintain and improve their level of play. So to answer your question if they don't win the AFCE assuming they play to their potential? ...... Hey! Better luck next year...... -

Couldn't agree more! -
It works without looking foolish. Just give up on the full beard attempt for now. I thought Keanu Reeves' full beard was bad.

Ouch.. -
The Dolphins will be much improved as they had a real nice influx of talent via the draft and FA. Flores has a year under his belt and some key players like Preston Williams coming back. If Howard is healthy along with Jones pose a very good secondary. Defense will be good. O line is still a ?. They have decent pieces on offense as well. I think 10 wins is a stretch considering the schedule but I can see 8 wins max. If you click over to FinHeaven they have this posted as well and even their fans find it hard to believe.

Actually I think Ford for Winters with Williams at RT if ready. I agree with Addison over Murphy. Nothing against Trent but we already know what he can do and like mentioned above we didn't pay a 10 sack a year guy 30M to be a back up. If both equally healthy I'd go Norman over Wallace.

Bills and Tre close to extension?
billsbackto81 replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're are all jockeying for position and it all revolves around Ramsey. Tre or any other CB doesn't wants to sign until they see what Ramsey gets. Imagine Tre signing for 17M and the following day Ramsey gets 19/20M. I don't care how much it is, nobody likes leaving money on the table. -

Vontae! That's a great call! I'd order then halfway through the meal I'd go to the restroom and wouldn't come back. -
This is a decent point. Even with the upgrades on offense I totally expect McD and Daboll to still follow the same game plan of acquiring a lead, play solid D and kill the clock with the run game. We just need to generate more points when going into a clock killing conservative offense. Also, even if Josh does go 7-9 there is no way this regime is giving up on a QB they drafted and got them a 10 win season in his first full year as a starter and continues to show improvement. Josh is still a pup that hasn't reached his potential, at worst maybe look into a starting caliber back up as insurance.

Rivers has nearly 60k yards, 400TDs and 8 Pro Bowls in his career. Yes, Father Time may have caught up to him but there is no way in this universe or any other is Tyrod Taylor an improvement or better option over him. I don't dislike Tyrod but that playoff game against the Jags showed me everything I need to know and forget about Taylor.

I don't know whether to get upset over that prediction or laugh uncontrollably about the Chargers going 9-7 led by Tyrod Taylor😆

I love stats that back up player situations. Fournette is and has always been a very good back. Jax very well would have won our game 2 seasons ago if Fournette didn't get ejected because he was abusing our D (18 car. 95 yds. 2 TDs)that game up until then. We won by 3 and needed a 10 point 4th quarter to do it. He is and has been a very good back. He's just not a process guy and he's a problem in the locker room. A one year deal wouldn't be the end of the world and it would give us the deepest RB stable in the league.

Good Grief! Do they dare call Lee Smith or has he signed elsewhere? I don't even know if he's still on the team or not? -

I don't think Sweeney is going anywhere now the Kroft has made his annual appointment with Dr. Scholl. -

Big Whoop! Bills were making it regardless. Time to cut bait with this guy. Front office has shown a ton of faith with this guy and he's repaid them with absolutely nothing. It's that misplaced faith that has made the Bills FO pause on a reliable TE acquisition. We need a reliable vet TE opposite Knox and Kroft has proven not to be it.
