  1. Darnold would've done fairly well if he were drafted by a competent franchise with an idea on how to build a team. He's not without skill.
  2. 😆 How do you fully guarantee 80% of a contracts worth for a guy with his injury history? Kudos on his agent's part in the deal.
  3. He's fast and runs hard which is probably the reason his injury history is what it is. But when healthy he's the homerun hitter we need. He should be excellent in rotation with Moss. I think Singletary may be done for. Shame cause I like the kid and he's shown flashes but has faltered in key situations.
  4. True, just venting on some of my personal experiences since moving here 10 years ago. That was one of the craziest moments in my life I've ever witnessed on video. I actually thought it was staged at first because I found it completely unfathomable.
  5. If a fight was to settle things one on one, so be it. You lose, you tip your cap and move on. I live in Florida now where too many hot headed people have more guns in their truck than teeth in their mouth. Best to walk away if you can for you and your family's sake.
  6. I think many are gonna have to accept the fact that Beane is not going to make the splash on a "prime" player who can contribute immediately this season with the current cap budget. Not that Rankins is that type of player but he is pretty good. Hope the draft bears some quality fruit.
  7. I was really hoping to add a difference maker on defense like a pass rusher. Upgrading CB2 would've been nice as well. But it seems most of the focus in FA was to retain our own guys which I don't have a problem with since they're the group that got us to the AFCCG. Cap space is really hurting us, especially with Josh and Tremaine coming up.
  8. LOL!!! 48 career games in 4 seasons. 6 total sacks, all in 2011 with the Jets.
  9. Jairus Byrd when healthy was a very good Safety and 3X Pro Bowler. You don't acquire the contract he got from NO being a one hit wonder. Maybin was never good enough to be considered a "one hitter". The only wonder he accomplished was being drafted in Rd 1 and being in the NFL as long as he was.
  10. Nonsense! Haven't you heard, we re-signed Levi Wallace. CB2 is the least of our concerns. Well, at least that's how many posters here feel😒 It's tiring reading how many here are content with mediocrity. Always reading the old adage, " well you can't have an All Pro at every position". Duh! We can do better than Levi and not break the bank. I don't hate him I just feel he's nothing more than good depth. Just because he beats out the dead weight brought in to compete against doesn't make him starting caliber. JMHO.
  11. Nah.... He's a similar skill set to Josh that will serve as a quality back up, nothing more. Josh has shown last season that he's still that physical and at times reckless player that can unfortunately get injured. Mitch is nice insurance.
  12. I have, and it tastes like dirt. The fact that the "meh" guy wins the position every year should tell you something other than your perception that he's a starting caliber CB. I don't hate the guy, but we need better at #2.
  13. Meh..... Depth, nothing more. Need an upgrade at CB2
  14. The only other time I thought our pick was a no brainer was when we drafted Aaron Maybin with Brian Orakpo still on the board. Sure some picks can be justified at times but how do you go pick Watkins over Mack or Maybin over Orakpo?
  15. Too obvious. I think we're about to trade for Stephon Gilmore. I know, long shot. But man that would be a sick secondary.
  16. Too me it's a push. Maybe more in favor of Smoke if you consider chemistry as a factor. JMO
  17. All these quality OL FAs getting scooped up quickly. Somewhere Russell Wilson is crying in his pillow.
  18. I don't fault guys for chasing the cash. Shelf life as an NFL player is short. Can't always cash in and be on a competitive team. Trash teams usually have the most money to spend.
  19. I guess when a fan base is accustomed to offensive mediocrity for so long any improvement is looked upon with emphatic joy. Too bad only the "knowledgeable" fan got to enjoy it. We all saw the improvement. We also saw the short comings. If you think the running game wasn't lacking than I don't have the words. Whether it be personnel or scheme design, who knows? One thing is certain. We won't get any further than last season until it's corrected, but I'm sure we'll still have an entertaining offense.
  20. Steve Austin was worth 6 million back in 1973. What would he be worth by today's standards and inflation rate? Remember, we have limited cap space😆 Might be worth it. I remember him kicking Dick Butkus's ass in an episode.
  21. I'm starting to believe this cap management thing can't be as hard as people make out. Beane makes it look soooooooooo easy.👍👍👍👍
