  1. Given the metrics of what KC does best and what the Bills do best....Spagnuolo correctly utilized and leveraged the KC defense to optimally defend against Buffalo's powerful passing attack that ran 3 and 4 wide fromations as much or more than any other team. This allowed KC to keep its crappy coverage LB's on the bench. The Bills need to add a TE that is a threat and/or some RB's that are feauterd as pass catchers.
  2. I don't think you are understanding how inconsequential this is at this point. All KC has to do is convert a bunch of roster bonus...that counts NOW...into signing bonus, wich they can spread out to later. You might say they'll have to pay the piper someday....and that's partially true...but in reality, assuming the cap begins to grow again (and it will...becasue the TV numbers just keep going up) you are just kicking that money into later years when the cap is going to also be bigger. Maybe in several years, they will have kicked enough down the road that they finally have to have a year of eating cap hits to get the books back in order, but we are talking YEARS from now....
  3. KC's "best" window is now...that for sure. But the window doesn't close for a while. 2023 is the year KC is really going to get pinched a bit by Mahomes contract....and even then, we dont' know what the cap will be in 2023 to be able to see how much of a pinch it is.
  4. I AM a Bills fan. They are my 2nd favorite team. I've been rooting for the Bills all year. I was a Josh Allen hater that's been converted into a Josh Allen fan....If you had won the game sunday, I'd be chearing on the Bills to win it all. I'll be cheering for you all again next year, except when you play KC.
  5. I couldn't have put this better if I tried. Thanks!
  6. I don't disagree with you....Breeland is a UFA. They can't afford him again unless he signs another cheap 1 year deal like he did this year to "win". I don't see that happening again....he's played really well and he's going to get paid. KC knows they'll have a hole at corner. Charvariou Ward is also a FA. They did sign 2019 Giants first round CB De'Andre Baker this year as a reclamation project....he promptly broke his leg when he got on the field. Last year, KC Drafted Lucas Niang..OT TCU in the 3rd round....alot of 1st round grades on that guy coming out of school, but he has a chronic hip issue....so red flagged for possible injury health concerns....KC will need him to be as good as advertised and hope that his hip holds up. KC Definitely has some roster challenges ahead of them with the cap and guys moving on...etc...again...the roster has had good chance of being less deep etc than this years roster.....all I am saying is that the main core is going to be around...and that alone is a solid foundation to try and build a roster good enough to compete for titles for the forseeable future. The Bills are still WELL WITHIN the low cost QB window...and will be for another 4 years at least. If Beane and Co can hit some in the draft and make some good FA pickups while Josh is cheap....you guys have every reason to believe a super bowl is within reach. I never quite understood this signing for KC.....Mahomes takes a guy like DeMarcus Robinson who only costs 1 million bucks...and gets Sammy Watkins production out of him. I'd rather KC have signed a mid tier WR for 1/3rd the cost....and spent the money on interior line or LB's.....it's the 2nd Worst contract Brett Veach has done in his tenure (Anthony Hitchens is worse)
  7. The big cap hits for Mahomes don't really come in until 2023. he's only 24 mil next year...and 31 in 2022. Hits 42 mil in 2023. Mahomes was only just over 5 mil this season. On the other hand though.....for example....Ryan Tannehill 2020 - 22 mil 2021 - 29 mil 2022 - 34 mil 2023 - 32 mil Mahomes doesn't surpass Ryan Tannehill's cap number for 2 more years.....that is what KC is working with right now. We aren't going away anytime soon.
  8. You mean guys like our 7th round or UDFA interior line? Or guys like Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle, Clyde Edwards Hellaire, L'Jarious Sneed, Willie Gay, Jaun Thornhill, Rashad Fenton, or Tershawn Wharton? (that's 8 starters all drafted by KC (Hardman will 'start' next season) or UDFA...all back next year) KC has drafted well besides already having a rock solid core. I'm not trying to be boastful here....I am saying that KC's roster isn't about to implode due to the cap.
  9. It won't be. Under contract for 2021 already: Mahomes Honey Badger Hill Kelce Edwards-Hellaire Hardman Thornhill Sneed Chris Jones Others. That's the core. We will work in other young guys and JAGS around that group...like we already do. You might say...but they only have 40 guys under contract now, AND they still have to shed 18 million in money just to get to even...and THEN they need to free up even more money to sign rookies and vets to get to 53. All true. And all easily done by converting salary to bonus money, then pro rating that out to future years and kicking the can on down the road. If you believe the cap will grow again, this isn't a problem at all....
  10. ......or maybe the Chiefs just happen to be a bad matchup for what the Bills do on offense? KC led the NFL in fewest receptions allowed to WR all year. KC has 5 above average CB and 3 good safeties...two of whom are very good in coverage (Thornhill and HB) Buffalo ran more 3 and 4 WR sets than any team in the NFL...and while Allen did make some big plays with his legs..KC's ends are big and contain well...(also another reason why KC always seems to stop Lamar) KC's LB suck at coverage, but if they don't need to be on the field becasue of teh personel groupings the Bills run almost all the time..then they aren't going to put them out there. It's not a coincidence KC held Diggs to his 2nd lowest REC and Yardage totals in week 6 and it's not a coincidence he was a non factor in this AFCCG. It's not hard to figure out how to burn the Chiefs D....you do it with a steady diet of throws to TE and RB and FB out of 2 TE sets....forces KC to put crappy, LB out there who can't cover. Go look at KC VS Raiders box scores...both games...is the same story.....Waller and the RB's killing KC. Sometimes teams just run into a crap matchup and what can you do? Does anyone really think the Raiders are some great team on par with KC? No...they aren't...but they happen to operate with personell and an offense that KC is NOT equipped to defend well at all. IN the salary cap era...it's really hard to field a complete team...and you gotta scheme around or outsocre or help or change things up sometimes to overcome what you aren't good at..and sometimes it still isn't enough. You have smart people running your team....they know what they need to do.....and they'll do it...the Bills have a great chance to continue trending upward and be an even better team next year.
  11. I am starting this thread because I keep reading over and over again here, that Tre White didn’t show up, is overpaid etc. This simply isn’t true. I went back after the game to see what White was being asked to do. He was actually asked to play man coverage on Hill or Kielce several times, and when he was manned up on Hill, Hill only had a few catches for a few yards. Same with Kielce. The problem was NOT Tre, but it’s that you only have one of him. He is a great player and worth every penny.
  12. KC has destroyed the Ravens every time we’ve played them.
  13. It's the same one the Bills saw in week 6.....maybe you didn't recognize it because it just happens that KC is a bad matchup for what the Bills do on offense. KC has a bunch of DB's that can cover. KC sucks at covering LB and TE...but you guys don't throw that way much.....KC held Diggs to his second lowest yardage totals and catches in week 6....because of the same thing. In other games VS opponents that have pass catching backs and/or TE's....that presents much more of a matchup problem for KC. Couple that with the fact KC generated pressure quite a bit with just the front 4 and there it is. I have seen A TON of posts here about Bills fans lamenting the idea that not having a good running game is the main problem...I'm not going to tell you that it's good to not have a running game....but Kc has no running game to speak of either. It is good to have one....but the part you guys are missing is the dynamic TE. O good passing team can piece together a run game....you need a TE bad. ...and then if nothing else at least get a pass catchign RB. The Raiders give KC hell because even though that team isn't all that good....they are matchup nightmare for KC's D. They have Waller...and even Jason Witten....along with a stable of RB's who all are good at recieving....their FB even lit us up for multiple catches. If you can play two TE sets with a RB and FB adn ALL of them are threats to catch teh ball...KC can't cover that with their POOR LB. ......so again...Buffalo came to this game with Diggs, Beasley and soem other WR's....all featured in their pass game. KC has the horses to cover that....and if you could run...they'd not care.....PASS catchers that demand a LB on the field....you need them. Since the game was over and I've had a chance to look at what the Bills did....White actually played his ass off....they tried manning him up on Hill and Kelce at different points of the game....with White on Hill...hill only had like 2 catches for 25 yards or something...and when he was manned on Kelce...Kelce had like 4 for 28 or somethuing.....He was very effective....problem is...there is only one Tre White....and he couldn't cover both at the same time...I can't speak to what the coaches were trying to do....KC was able to dial up pretty much whatever they wanted...but it wasn't becasue of Tre White.....that guy is worth the money.
  14. 1st....Congratulations to the Bills for their season......You have a great QB.....you'll be competing for YEARS. I remember when Mahomes lost this same game in 2018....it sucked...but you'll be back as long as you have Allen. 2nd.... Kind of went how I thought. KC was able to cover your recievers with our stable of DB's. Buffalo not a threat to run, and Knox isn't a threat at TE. Kelce was glaringly huge in this game. When KC was down 9-0 after the muffed punt...no panic..no doubt....KC had seen that before....been down early in big games before...CALM. I also thought the Bills pass rush wouldn't get there with only 4..and they didn't...and when you did get there a few times..Mahomes made plays. Hill was the one surprise...I didn't htink he'd go off like he did. I thinl you all can see what your next steps need to be.....you need 3 things in no paritlcular order.....an edge pass rusher (or two) a legit TE. ....and a more balanced running game. I know the Bills come to KC in the regular season next year....hopefully we will also have another post season match up as well. Lastly...thanks for allowing me to be a part of your awesome community. Alwasy enjoy the discourse here.
  15. As I mentioned prior to the game starting. KCS D is a bad matchup for the Bills. We have a glut of coverage DB, and you don’t have a threat to run or a TE that matters. I also said watch for Sneed. Sneed has made his presence felt. Also, spotted the Bills a 9-0 lead. KC has seen that movie in the playoffs before. No panic. No worries. No doubt. Got Hardman right back in the game and held making big plays.
  16. I'm here. I'll be back after the game win or lose .....but this will be my last post before the game starts. In 2018, when KC had a bottom 3 defense, Patrick Mahomes, would will that team to wins and even when losing that year, he had 3 losses where the other team simply had the ball last in back and forth games including the 2018 AFCCG. In 2019, Mahomes and KC overcame a 24-0 first quarter deficit VS Houston. I know and am well aware that Buffalo had an incredible comeback against another Houston team way back when....and KC trailed by 10 in all their other playoff games in 2019 and won all of them. We've been throwing stats back and forth, matchups and all that.....but my final point is simply......Mahomes. No moment is too big...no obstacle is too big.....no lead is safe until the clock strikes 00's He has proven to be more than equal to these moments and the team he has around him now, have the added confidence of knowing who their QB is and what he's about in these games. Beneth the boyish face and the hair....and the kermit voice....lies the heart of a champion and driven competitor who can summon every talent he has to will his team to a victory in the biggest moment on the biggest stage. Patrick Mahomes. Period.
  17. If my team plays one game and wins 20-10 I am +10. If your team plays 5 games and wins them all 20-10, you are +50.
  18. ....the Bills have played an extra playoff game, and in the regular season, only played one team that made the playoffs from week 10 on...they SHOULD have a large point differential. In that same span, KC has played one fewer playoff game....and also played a game in week 17 where KC played all bakcups and had a -17 differential for the game. KC also played 2 playoff teams on the road Tampa and NO. Context helps.
  19. Wow...thanks for taking notice of my stuff over at Orangemane..... I completely agree with this (Bolded) .....and I've pointed it out to the Broncos fans.....the O line Allen started with, 4 of the 5 were out of football within a year. Allen was the leading rusher...by ALOT. The recievers out of football or on the fringe of rosters as no.5 WR....it was a BAD roster. Especially on offense. Clearly Mahomes was given the keys to a porche...and he drove it like a championship racecar driver. Allen was given the keys to used 1988 Yugo and drove it like a communist era taxi driver in Moscow. ....It's a HUGE HUGE credit to the Bill entire organization what you've done with the roster, and developing Allen....many of you know I was here from the beginning as an Allen doubter...I didn't think it could be done....but wow...what a story, what a player.....If the Bills win Sunday....they are my team the in the Super Bowl.
  20. The final play of that game was Carolina attempting a 67 yard field goal that would have won the game......it had the distance and missed wide right......was almost an epic NFL classic.
  21. 1. Not all, but some of the 1 score games you talk about...KC had well in hand and teams scored late to make them 1 score games. 2. There is something to be said for having the target of "super bowl champs" on your back. You get the best shots alot of teams have.....the Carolina game that we almost lost, they threw the entire kitchen sink of 4th downs, fake punts, trick gadget plays....they brought everything they had in a non conference game that KC probably was looking past. 3. Speaking of looking past opponents....I'd like to tell you KC brought the A game all year long and took eveyrone seriously. They DID NOT. But in games that had a major billing...VS bills week 6, two score win...VS Baltimore week 3, two score win. VS new Orleans...late score to get within a score....same with Tampa....and all road games. KC up 19-3 on Cleveland before Mahomes injury.... I'd not put too much into that margin of victory thing, but even if you do, KC's point differential is still very good.
  22. I'll throw around some more numbers later....but I would like to give a BIG thank you to the Bills for drafting and developing Josh Allen and getting him to the awesome player he is today.....If the Bills were playing anyone other than KC, I'd be rooting my ass off for you guys...Love watching the Bills.....and even more than that, I HATE the Broncos...and just reading their fans over the past couple seasons watch Allen blossom into what he has, when they could have and should have drafted him.....has been very satisfying.
  23. Ugh.....sure......I'll get to that later this evening....
  24. I agree that you can't glean a whole lot from one game....but that's also why I posted the season stats first a few posts before that one.
  25. No, the original post showed a tweet indicating the Bills had alot more success in 10 personel VS the Chiefs as opposed to being in 11 Personel. They ran 16 plays in 10 personel that game...half of wich were in the 4th while trailing.....so a situation where you are passing the D is probalby playing off/deep to prevent a big play...... so the short answer mostly yes. the Bills were down 2 scores for most of the 4th quarter. I can't say you are wrong.....but you could say this about every game ever played
