As someone who is old enough to have seen Kelly play...I think he was a very good QB, on a very good team. Certainly, he was unquestionably, one of the best of his era...but like many posters here....I don't think he cracks a top 10 all time. That isn't an indictment on Kelly....its just that there were guys better than him. Personally, I HATE the Denver Broncos...HATE them....but I still rank John Elway No.1 All time. He was a combo of cannon arm, mobility, escapability, CLUTCH, and charismatic all in one. His first 3 super bowl teams were bad rosters that he shouldered to title games. If he played today, he'd be in a Mahomes/Allen category of the do it all, face of the franchise, faced of the leauge type QB. Brady....his one super premium trait...and I've never seen anyone better at it....hanging in a pocket, working and moving around in a closet, while keeping his eyes downfield and executing....other than that...his traits are all average....he's been clutch, and he's also benefited from some 50/50 situations, wierd calls etc...more frequently than the averages say he should have. Results are results....he's the most "accomplished" QB ever. My top 5 1. Elway - The best I ever saw who combined cannon arm, charisma, mobility, escapability and CLUTCH all in one. 2. Marino - Lit it up in the air in an era where the NFL was still a RB driven leauge. Quickest release I've ever seen. 3. Mahomes (yeah, call me biased) The current version of an Elway type. 4. Fran Tarkenton - The original Elway....a guy who was mobile, had a great arm and was the whole package...never won a SB or he'd be talked about alot more. 5. Steve Young - Another guy who combined the entire set of traits into one....great runner, strong arm, and efficient. Josh Allen is right in the groove here ready to move into my top 5...he's right in that Elway/Steve Young/Tarkenton/Mahomes type....the guy that has elite traits, and does it all....has charisma...etc....

Clearly you could have something blue...like another poster said...when you deviate too far from your traditions and history...that isn't going to be popular. Frankly, the bills blue helmet you propose lookes EXACLTY like what a Giants helmet would look like if they had bills logo on it....it looks way to much like a Giants helmet.

(PS, I am a uniform nerd) I have nothing against a blue helmet in and off itself...I just don't think it's a good look for the Bills.

I like the Bills current look....and I also like the Jim Kelly/Bruce Smith era look....and I like the OJ era standing buffalo look. Those early 2000's disasters should be erased from history. Awful. Count me as someone who does NOT like that blue helmet.

Chiefs have traded OL Yassir Durrant for a 2022 7th Round pick from New England. Durrant signed as a UDFA in 2019. Played at MIZZOU. Has seen some action here and there as a Chief. Can play both T and G.

My wife is Vietnamese, she makes these frequently and they are very good. Ok...so after I had read through this a couple weeks ago, I was at work and had a craving for wings while working overnight. dominos was open. Keep in mind I am in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. ....I KNOW dominos wings suck. I am not about to tell anyone they are good. They are always soggy. Anyhow..it was the only option....and instead of ranch (with I never use anyhow,) I ordered a side of Bleu Cheese.....again, crappy side condiment blue cheese...but still blue cheese.... I gotta say...I really liked the way the blue cheese and hot Buffalo sauce tasted together, even thought it was dominos. I'm really looking forward to having some higher quality wings and bleu cheese now....somewhere better.

I can understand why people would say this about my predictions.....clearly I have a bias....but the national media and Vegas oddsmakers aren't going to KC "by default". there are good reasons for it. History does tell us that KC probably won't make it...and a lot of years even the team with the best record etc doesn't always go either....The Bills could EASILY be the AFC rep in the SB. I won't be surprised at all if it is the Bills in the SB. A lot has to go right just to make it to that game.

KC has handily outplayed the Browns in both Mahomes/Baker Matchups, including last years playoff game. The final score makes it look close....but KC was 19-3 4 minutes into the 3rd Q when Mahomes left with concussion. KC finsihed with something like 450 total yards to Clevelands 300.....total. KC outrushed the Browns in that game as well. Cleveland also converted 3 4th downs and STILL only totalled 300. The Browns style of offense is decidedly NOT ideal when attacking KC...the Browns need to play from ahead and try and run clock and protect a lead...they are DEAD in the water down more than one score and trying to come back. KC kills run first teams (see RAVENS and CHIEFS box scores as well) I picked KC....but Buffalo suddenly having a legit pass rush, is very concerning to me.

D is still young and I am not convinced that Darnold is it....hard team to read...better than 4th if McCaffrey plays all 17 games) NFC WEST 1. San Francisco 49ers (deep roster, good skill players, good QB to start, and a better one waiting to start. tough division, but 49ers edge with depth.) 2. Seattle Seahawks (such a hard division....Seahawks will have to overcome their meh defense most weeks. WIlson will have to carry them in playoffs if they are to win) 4. Tennessee Titans (the core of a good team is all back...and the division sucks...would help if they could find a pass rush) 2. Indianapolis Colts (a decent roster, with a bunch of QB's I don't have any faith in. I think Wentz just aint it. They aren't good enough to win despite the QB) 4. Houston Texans (A real threat to go 0-17. Worst roster in the NFL...and it's one of he oldest as well. It will be YEARS of roster building to get back to being competetive) AFC WEST 1. Kansas City Chiefs (key to season is completely new O Line. IF KC can use entire playbook on any spot on field, down and distance...will be very hard to stop them) 2. LA Chargers (pretty good roster, and expected ascension of Herbert...Chargers should be solid across the board. Need to stay healthy) 3. Denver Broncos (good roster except QB and right side of O line. Those are bad places to suck though...easiest schedule in NFL..could get them to 9-10 wins) 4. Las Vegas Raiders (The team just can't get out of 6-11 mode. Don't draft or roster build well enough...fix one area, and get worse in another. Shallow depth) AFC Playoffs 1. Kansas City (that week 5 Bills/Chiefs matchup is HUGE!) 2. Bills 3. Titans (benefit from being in week division) 4. Browns 5. Chargers 6. Ravens 7. For lack of a better thread to put it in....I was going over the enitre NFL schedule game by game.....There is a big cluster of teams that figure to go about 9-8 to 8-9 or so. Getting to 10 wins will be a big deal in the wild card races. That said....The Bills schedule is more favorable than what the Chiefs have but not by much. I think the Bills play in the tougher division this year as I don't think much of the Raiders or Broncos, but I do think the Phins and Pats can make some noise. The week 5 KC/BILLS matchup is going to be HUGE. That game may well determine the 1 seed. I'd also like to think that most years going into the final week, you usually know the 1 seed and maybe that team can rest some guys. I don't think it will go down like that. If it comes down to playing out week 17 to determine the 1 seed...that is also advantage Bills....you all host the jets..KC is on the road at Denver. Not that the Jets or Denver are that great, but going on the road in the cold to Denver is not better than the Bills at home to the Jets. Can't wait for this season. Truly, the AFC is going to be a 2 team race...with Cleveland a distant 3rd and Tenn a distant 4th.

Just wanted to chime in here and say, the Bills additions to the pass rush are looking good early. Having a pass rush that you didn't have last year....gets you A LOT closer to a super bowl. I'm impressed with what you guys got in this draft. Rouseau looks scary legit. I hope KC's line is gelled by the time we play...we are going to need to be on our A game....

I'm not going to get stoked about that....they were trying stuff that we don't know about as well...because preseason...Chris Jones looked good.

In the regular season, when Hill has missed games due to injury... Patrick Mahomes has a passer rating of 103.1 with 1,737 yards, 8 touchdowns and 1 interception in 5 games without Tyreek Hill in his career. I don't claim to know what they were doing out there...but in camp, they've been trying to work alot of reps in to Hardman...it seemed like they called alot of plays with that in mind. Didn't look like Pat and Hardman were in sync. More work needed obviously.

Odd thing about KC/Raiders....the Radiers have had a BAD pass rush for the past few years but for some reason, give KC fits in this department....makes no sense.

1st....I hope to see you guys again in the AFCCG. I feel very strongly that the Bills are legit contenders and as long as Allen is the QB....are going to be for a while. I do think the Bills got better this offseason. Ok...so about the 3 rookies....this is both a legit concern and also for Chiefs fans...represent a real major change and likely improvement. So about the line....on top of almost certainly starting 3 rookies, the other 2 guys are both new to the team as well. 5 new starters. It is a tall task to ask any 5 new guys on a line to play together with cohesion, let along have 3 rookies. I'd love to sit here and say that they'll be all on the same page, week 1. That's not realistic. I suspect KC's line is going to need at least 8 games to gel....and since we are workign with rookies....it may take all year. The upside / potential of this group is the exciting part and not so much what they will look like in week 1. Too early to say so with much certainty, but the group does look good so far...(again, looking good at camp and VS SF 2nd string is all we have to go on so far) Let's say they do gel are good.... Thuney is highly paid but on the team long term, the 3 rookies are here the next 4 seasons on the cheap.....that leaves signing Orlando Brown to a long term deal, wich is expected assuming he plays well enough. Best case...that group is young and will be together 4 years. That's the exciting part. I think KC can absorb future losses of RB's, WR's, TE's etc...as long as you have Mahomes and a super line....they'll figure out the other parts as time passes. This year I'll be really looking at how the line shows..and hopefully gets some chemistry....it's the key to how far we can go.

KC was awful VS the spread last year....got out to big leads and then took foot off gas....other times when could have put the hammer down, but couldn't convert 3rd and short etc. SEE MORE BELOW. Vulnerable isn't a bad way to put it in the sense that KC was absolutely awful on 3rd and short and goal to go with the bad O line. KC was also not a good red zone team. When KC should have and could have put the death blow on teams...they simply couldn't do it most times. Allowed teams to hang in and get late scores or prevented KC from getting that last nail into the coffin. SEE MORE BELOW It worked. I can't deny this stat as it is a fact, but I would say that the Raiders win didn't have anything to do with 50% pressures on MAhomes...KC put up 32 points in that loss. Las Vegas had 40. The Raiders have been a bad matchup for KC for a while....as they throw a TON of passes to the TE and backs out of backfield....KC's weakest aspects of defense. in 2018, KC had a starting O line of: LT Eric Fisher LG Cameron Erving C Mitch Morse (pre concussions) RG Andrew Wylie and later Laurant Duvernay-Tardiff RT Mitch Schwartz That was the best line Mahomes had been with since his time starting in KC. That team was good in the red zone, and decent and short yardage conversions. That offseason, KC lost Morse to the Bills. Also in 2019 Eric Fisher missed 8 games due to injury. KC also had to rotate in guys at LG for injury, and also, Mahomes got injured and missed a few games, as well as playing hurt. KC's offensive metrics dropped across the board...especially games where Fisher was out. KC got healthy toward the end of that season, including having Fisher healthy at the end. KC put up 51, 35, and 31 points in the playoffs. In 2020, KC lost Laurant Duvarnay Tardiff to covid opt out. A couple games in they lost the starting LG, a game or 2 later, they lost RT Mitch Schwartz for the season. KC's red zone and short yardage metrics were HORRIBLE as a result. ...and then KC lost Fisher at the end of the AFCCG... resulting in KC rolling with only C Ausin Reiter the Center and worst player on the line when healthy....as the lone starter remaining. 2nd and 3rd stringers started at the G and OT spot in the SB. ...against a team that has a great 4 man rush. We lost..I'm not whining about it....TB won. My hats off to them. They are the champions. .....KC is the Vegas favorite for a reason. Let me address what KC lost in the offseason first...because it's been brought up that KC lost 8 starters. Guys KC lost who started. C Austin Reiter. Remains unsigned as of this post. He sucks. DE Tanoh Kpasagnon. Very much a JAG...no impact player. his production (next to nothing) is easily replacable for less money WR Sammy Watkins. ....... do I need to make an explanation for him? LT Eric Fisher ..... Injured RT Mitch Schwartz. Injured and remains unsiged and has infact been hanging around KC and helping coach up the new line guys....rumored to be retired but not officially. LB Damien Wilson ....another JAG whose replacement is better and cheaper CB Bashaud Breeland .....this is the one that matters most....good CB that fit will in the system. S Juan Thornhill.....recovering from injury....not sure he'll be the same player, he hasn't been with the 1s much. If you are losing 8 starters...those are the 8 you don't mind losing (except Breeland) The important part of this is O line. Traded for LT Orlando Brown Signed LG Joe Thuney drafted C Creed Humphrey drafted RG Trey Smith drafted RT Lucas Niang This will 99.9 percent be by far the best line Mahomes has had since he joined the Chiefs. The early returns are good. If KC is a threat to run on short yardage and in goal to go situations, that means the full playbook is available and defenses can't drop 7-8 and rush 3-4 all the time. On defense, Willie Gay is looking like the speedy, coverage LB we've been missing, and rookie LB Bolton reports are good on so far too (very early on that yet though) Add to that, KC signed Jarron Reed, and Last year rookie impact UDFA Tershawn Wharton has given KC the depth to move Chris Jones to DE.....that has looked really good so far too. It is not lost on me that I am a biased KC fan. so take this all with a small grain of salt...but I'm not at all beyond being critical of my own team. Vegas has KC as front runners for a reason...they know those close games last year were not KC struggling to win...but struggling to put teams away late and letting them back in. They know the line being better will improve the metrics that kept KC from closing out teams....... I am predicting KC gets the 1 seed, is in the SB again, and will win it all. (bla bla bla bias...but Vegas sees it as I do) Buffalo is the main threat. CLEVELAND is the actual paper tiger. Bunch of close 1 score games. they rely on turnovers and game management to win..that leaves room for lucky bounces etc.

Chiefs update (for those interested) the Oline 1st unit in the preseason game was: LT Orlando Brown LG Joe Thuney C Creed Humphrey RG Trey Smith RT Lucas Niang My account of their performance....given that it was a small sample size, and the 49ers didn't play starters..... It was good. KC opened the game with a striaight ahead smash mouth run for 10. exactly what you'd want to see from the 1st unit VS the 2nd unit of another team. Again, given the small sample and 2nd stringers....they all looked good. Niang was especially effective. He may well have nailed down the RT job. Some things that seemed off. Noah Gray, the 5th round TE from Duke, didn't have a catch. I believe he was targeted 3 times. His frist try was a heater from Henne that was high and behind him....popped off his shoulder pad for an INT. Juan Thornhill, who started as a rookie and looked good 2 years ago before injury in the last game of the year in 2018...didn't look good...and has continued to run with the 2's and 3's in practices. This is a discouraging development. KC not deep at S. The KC D line, on the interior is deep. The young LB's Gay and Bolton continue to run with the 1's and are looking good. Probably doesn't mean anything in a preseason game VS scrubs, but SF targeted D'Andre Baker 6 times in coverage, and failed all 6 times to complete a pass. Baker has looked decent in camp so far (former Giants 1st rounder that got into legal troubles)

KC is full of burger, and especailly BBQ places...(I miss it) ...but there is a diverse food scene...you just need to hit up the river market area, or overland park. I digress. They have in n out and whataburger right next to each other where I live here in Texas. In in out does have a good burger...always hot and fresh....I like it. But like many others...it's not the best burger I've ever had....just good. The fries are awful...even when you ask them to be "well done". As a man who loves about any version of potatoe dish that is possible to make..I don't understand how in n out takes perfectly good potatoes and makes them into soemthing I can't stand to eat. Whataburger.....it's ok...I'll get it every now and then...but it's like McDonalds with a more diverse array of possible toppings....for those who have had Sonic...it's damn near the same burger. They do have an outstanding Grilled chicken Melt....it's not even on the menu....by far, the best thing they sell....amazing sandwich. Just as I was leaving living in Minot, ND, they put a tim Hortons in there (2016)....I thought it was good the few times I got to visit it before I moved. Sorry to hear it's gone down hill.

first...I am not a fan that has a take on that trade as you describe. I very much think it was a win win and have said so many times here.
