I went through every team and every game....here is what I came up. ...and yes...I am biased to KC....if I am being honest, the defense won't be as good as last year, but maybe the O is better? 15 wins is probalby too many...but whatever...I am a homer. The rest is objective though! Look forward to seeing what others are predicting for the NFL this year as well! Go BOLD - 2024 NFL bold predictions 2024
Zerovoltz replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he is good. I don't think the Packers are. Before going on that late season run, where they were quite good, they were 6-8. It's pretty common for a team that takes the kind of step forward that the Packers did, tend to take a step back the following season. -
Dallas gave up a 3 for Lance....he is THE hedge against DAK negotiations going south. They aren't trading their only leverage for a 4th. It would need to be something much more substantial..if they'd even move him. He very well may be the Cowboys starter next year. You guys won't like the idea, but maybe give the Giants a call and see if Drew Lock might be had cheap. They are going to force Danile Jones out there and they have DeVito who is a popular guy in that area. Lock is expendable, and for a team that is going to be rebuilding next year and needing to draft a QB..they will be receptive to aquiring some picks.

Go BOLD - 2024 NFL bold predictions 2024
Zerovoltz replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not going to do Chiefs stuff here...I am biased....but my BOLD predictions - BILLS Predictions - Dalton Kincaid will lead the Bills in receptions and recieving TD's. The Bills will lose on the road at NE. Kalil Shakir will be Bills best WR. (maybe no so bold) Pegula will put team up for sale after (D) win the presidential election. Now some in general for NFL. The Patriots will have the worst record in the NFL (this is NOT bold) The Bears will make the playoffs. the Packers will not make the playoffs. DK Metcalf will lead all WR in TD catches this year. Spencer Rattler will end the season as the Saints starting QB and look good....will be the steal of this draft. The Ravens will not make the playoffs. Derrick Henry will prove to be washed up. The Browns will win the AFC North. -
Preseason week 2 (non Bills related)

...I didn't like the Worthy pick..but IF he can stay healthy and beat the press...he is going to be a problem for people. -
I have no doubt Cleveland will get a Super Bowl out of this. It's a fairly standard deal that if you build a new/dome, the NFL rewards your city with ONE super bowl just for building the place. A while back maybe 10 years ago? There was a ballot initiative in Kansas City that had 2 questions....one was to fund renovations to arrowhead (and Kaufman, the baseball stadium) and the 2nd question was about paying to put a dome on Arrowhead. The kicker was that the NFL publicy promised the city a superbowl if the dome was approved. Kind of odd, the renovations passed but the extra question about the dome failed. It was the same in INDY...you build a new dome, we give you a Super Bowl. Cleveland will get one if they build this thing. QUIT READING HERE IF YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT THE CLEVELAND STADIUM****** This also makes me really appreciate Arrowhead...that thing was build in 1972 and has completely and totally stood the test of time.

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
Zerovoltz replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll say it again....I wasn't thrilled with the pick, and i'm still not...worthy to KC. KC has fast guys who you have to scheme open already....and if you are getting another one, he better be a damn skilled route runner and separator...I don't see it in Worthy....would have preferred Coleman myself. -
John Elway admits Josh Allen was his biggest regret
Zerovoltz replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
few things I want to touch on here - 1. There are a couple posts here about Denver already having signed Keenum, and were set at QB. That is CORRECT, but I want to point out that Elway made another error that led to the Keenum error before that...and demonstrates who one choice affects many others as you get on down the road. Elway had opted to retain Vance Joseph at head coach and his staff. He then basically gave Joseph and ultimatum to win or he'd be fired. This bad decision was money based as Denver by that time was being run by a trust while a bunch of court challenges for control over the team by Pat Bowlens kids was ongoing. Given that Vance Joseph was in a win now situation, he wanted a veteran QB, and for drafted players to be win now, help me now, start now type guys. That's why they signed Keenum and weren't in the QB market on draft day, and took Bradley Chubb, who was thought to be a day 1 impact starter at DE. Even if Elway had taken Allen, the coaching staff wouldn't have gone near him..they would have had no interested or incentive to work on his development. 2. Cleveland should be getting absolutely ROASTED about their handling of QB's lately. In 2017...took Miles Garrett 1/1 while needing a QB, passing on Mahomes. In same 2017 draft, traded out of 1/12....with Houston, who took DeShawn Watson...who Cleveland then traded for later, and paid a bad contract to. In 2018...took Baker over Josh Allen. Double bad becasue Baker would lead them to first playoff win in quite a while, then they trade him to Tampa so they can get Watson. Baker goes on to be decent in Tampa, lead them to playoff win, and get nice extension in TB.....while ending up with Watson....and missing on Allen. That is about as bad as it gets. 3. I was at the 2018 draft, on the the stage floor when Allen was taken. Poncho Billa and the Bills mafia there that day, enthusiastically embraced Allen the moment the pick was made and he came out on the stage. I know this place melted down about "the wrong Josh" but at least the contingent in the house was supportive when it happened. .....I hope the Bills get some titles AND I also hope that when the time comes for hte Pegulas to need a successor, that it is NOT messy like the Broncos. That mess led to alot of mistakes and alot of rot, that has led Denver to now being a favorite to land 1/1 in the draft. And last....I was WAY WAY WAY WRONG about Josh Allen too. I thought he'd be a bust. I WANTED the Broncos to take him even though I knew by the draft they weren't going QB. I laughed when the Bills traded up for him and thought it was a "Billsy" move. How wrong I was. -
Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
Zerovoltz replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I saw that play and about barfed. This thing is being hyped up as some great play. It's not. Worthy makes the same route running error MVS kept making over and over last year...instead of running away from the inside safety, Worthy runs INTO the coverage....if he turns to the outside, he's wide open and the safety (Bryan Cook) is complete toast. No. Instead he runs toward Cook and gives him a chance to recover and defend the pass. This is being hyped because it happend to work out, in a practice environment. MVS could run fast too, but if you can't read the defense right and run the right way...it doesn't help that much to be super fast. I hope this gets better. Ugh. -
AFC Best Case Worst Case Season Outlook July Edition
Zerovoltz replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't realize that the Chiefs offensive line was old? Travis Kelce is old. The oline? Chiefs best case: The entire starting D line and pretty much all the depth pieces of it are all back, the reconfigured WR Corps clicks and Kc is able to fill the loss of Snead and Willie Gay without a hitch. They cruise to another AFC West title and make their 3rd consecutive SB with Kelce having another top 3 TE year. Worst case: (assuming regular wear and tear for injuries of course) Kelce falls off cliff. The WR room isn't better. Worthy turns out to be made of glass and is out all the time with pulled hammies. The rest of the mediocre bunch still can't catch....this time KC doesn't overcome it because Snead is missed, Gay is missed and Chris Jones isn't quite the force he's been. KC goes 10-7. Makes the playoffs as 4 seed. Loses in 1st round. I am BIASED. I think they've got one more big run in them before we get some attrition due to cap.....going to be rough trying to resign Creed and Trey Smith, Nick Bolton....not going to be able to keep all. Justin Ried will be FA after this year. Roster is due for some substantial turnover NEXT YEAR. They will be motivated to try and get the only NFL 3 peat ever. WR's almost can't be as bad as last year just by sheer math. -
How close is Allen to Mahomes if all things were equal?
Zerovoltz replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
......This really isn't what matters. Allen and Mahomes are both really good QB's. I would also tell you that if my team won a Super Bowl led by Elvis Grbac...I'd take that everytime over having the best QB. Hopefully you guys will get one (or more) very soon Allen is worthy. Your fanbase is awesome. Be glad you have Allen....he's so fun to watch and has the Bills competing as a top teir contender year in and year out. If God appeared and just said, yep Allen is the best QB...would you really feel any better about things? You guys need a ring. -
I am not saying it's a bad player or bad pick. I like Coleman. But...it's odd AF that you'd move out of 28, with your WR (apparently Coleman is your guy) and expose yourself to the risk of missing out. IF this was your guy...congrats for the manuevering.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
Zerovoltz replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
My Chiefs fan point of view on it. 1. (forget the trade was with KC and Buffalo....I'll get to that). I don't like the move for KC that much. I don't hate it, but I do think it's a deep WR group and there are still a bunch of very good WR left. As some have noted, KC felt compelled to come up for Worthy. From the idea that KC moved to get their guy..great, they paid a small toll to move up and secure a guy they thought might go before 32. SF taking Pearsall, hints at that possibility, but by no means is proof anyone would have taken him before 32. The cost was cheap so I'm not bothered by that. I think if it was me, I would have stayed in place and taken Jerry Newton or Patrick Paul. I am excited to see what Worthy looks like on the field. 2. From the Bills point of view...the aesthetic of making this trade with KC is AWFUL. You can't do this with us. Not after Mahomes, not after McDuffie, not after 3-0 in recent playoff games holding the Bills back from what surely would be at least one Lombardi by now....it's a horrible horrible look and YES, the national meida are going to ROAST the Bills for doing this. 3. If you can get past the look of it...it's a good trade for the Bills. CLEARLY. CLEARLY they did not have anyone on their board they liked at all at 28. Worth was CLEARLY NOT the Bills guy so it's not like KC beat the Bills to the punch or anything like that. The Bills pick up some draft capital (albeit, not a whole lot) to move back and reconsider the situation. It's GOOD managing of the draft when you are able to pick up some capital when you find yourself in no mans land at your spot. Dropping back one more spot to 33 is the same thing. This isn't bad if you can get past the bad look of doing business with KC. 4. This is NOT a deep draft. If the Bills can convert some of that newly aquired later ammo into day 2 picks, it will be a plus. 5. Since the Bills DID deal with KC though....IF Worthy blows up, the Bills are going to get scorched for both trading with KC and misevaluting the player they could have taken. For this reason alone, I would have declined dealing with KC. Too little to be gained at the risk of it all blowing up in your face. 6. The Bills can still totally win their draft, overall it's correct strategy if their player evaluations are solid. -

Sure..you need all the talent you can get across the roster. If you have an elite QB, who doesn't need a security blanket...then the best way to build a roster is probably not spending high on a WR who demands targets and is a locker room cancer.

Now that Diggs has been traded and it's come to light there has been ongoing problems in the Diggs/Allen relationship.....I STAND BY THIS. Allen is going to have a great year, and the Bills are going to be FINE. Allen is now free to run the offense without having in the back of his mind that he has to get one of the guys a number of targets. The ball can and will go to the optimal reciever on a given play.

Chiefs president floats the idea of the team leaving
Zerovoltz replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. As mentioned earlier (but not read by just about everyone posting here) If they "leave" it's for other locations in the KC metro. This is a non story. 2. You can argue that tax funds invested into sports stadiums isn't all that great a deal for the taxpayer if you are wanting to drill down and find out how much revenue is generated VS what is invested. FINE...that isn't really what this is about (even thought the owners and politicians will claim what an economic boon it is!) ...the game is ......do you want to invest public funds in partnership with billionaires who own the teams, so that the stadium/arena and stuff is satisfactory and the team stays in your community? yes or no? because if you don't want to pony up, there is a line around the block of other communities who will. Greed? Coldhearted business.. playing at the heartstrings of fans OF COURSE.... I'd argue the value of of the investment is to HAVE the team..which in our day and age when there is so little that bonds us together as poeple...one of the few things that does...is a pro sports team. -
Mecole Hardman Whistleblower on KC Tampering!
Zerovoltz replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Be careful what you wish for. The last time the Chiefs got punished for tampering in 2016, the NFL made KC forfiet their 3rd round pick right before the 2016 NFL draft. This single event propelled KC into a dynasty by protecting KC from itself. KC wanted Paxton Lynch and couldn't beat Denvers offer to trade up from 31 to 26 becasue KC didn't have a 3rd round pick to trade. If they had it, KC would have been able to offer 28 and 91 for 26 and draft Lynch. Instead Seattle took Denvers offer of 31 and 94. KC was missing pick 91. KC traded back to 36 after it couldn't trade up for Lynch and instead they drafted Chris Jones. The following season, they were still looking to draft a young future QB and traded up to 10 for Pat Mahomes. If KC didn't tamper with Jeremy Maclin, none of that happens. KC takes Lynch, doesn't draft Jones, and only 1 year into Lynch, isn't about to draft another QB in round 1. -
Chiefs-Bills trade that landed Kansas City Patrick Mahomes
Zerovoltz replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's amazing that this topic comes up over and over again. The Bills did not trade Mahomes to the Chiefs. The Bills traded the 10th overall pick in the 2017 Draft to KC. KC had been talking to the McDermott pretty much since the day he got hired, about moving up IF the board fell in ways that both teams were compelled to move up for KC, and down for Buffalo. KC was trying to move up to pick 5 once the festivities started. When pick 10 arrived, KC wanted to come up because Mahomes was still on the board. I can't stress enough, the McDermott had only been at the job 1 month. He is a D minded coach and did not consider himself qualified to be making a choice about a QB. Watson and Mahomes both were on the board when pick 10 came up. He decided it would be best to gather AMMO for next year, when they'd have a GM in place and they could evaluate and be on the same page about a QB in what was billed as a GREAT QB draft year in 2018. (2017 was not considered a good QB year) McDermott having traded away pick 10, (NOT MAHOMES) did about as well in 2018 as you possibly could! Josh Allen. For all McD knew, KC had moved up for Watson. He didn't know who they'd take at 10 out of Watson or Mahomes. It's quite likely the biggest Win/Win trades in NFL history how it's turned out and yet so many here think it's the Bills/McD fault KC got Mahomes. Is it the 49ers fault the Bears Got Trubisky? Afterall, the Bears traded up to two and made that choice. No one in Chicago blames San Francisco for "giving" Trubisky to the Bears. -
One more thought on Ariaza from a KC perspective (IMO) I've seen some posts here knocking Araiza's lack of skill at directional punting/pinning teams in deep. I would ask, If you are punting from your own 50 and you fail to pin it in, and it's a touchback...how many yards did you lose by failing to pin it deep? The touchback puts it at the 25. A returner may have fair caught it at the 10...maybe even the 15 if he doesn't see a return available..but lets say he fair catches at the 10 as most are taught to let anything inside the 10, just bounce. That's 15 yards it's costing by having the punter fail to pin it deep. Now ask if you are the same team punting from your own 25 and your punter blasts a 60 yard punt with hangtime. Let's assume that the hangtime is good enough to compell a fair catch. That's going to be around the opponents own 15-20 yard line...completey and utterly flip the field. In both cases the other team is looking at a 75-80 yard drive. I'll take the guy who can make the other team have to go 80 yards after I've had to punt from my own 25 yard line.
-
Townsend is UFA. He's an excellent putner and he's gong to get paid. I am very happy for him and happy for his time in KC. The Chiefs aren't opposed to paying good money for a good kicker. Butker is one of the highest paid kickers in the NFL. He's worth every last penny....dude is NAILS in the post season. There is no justification for paying a punter top of market when you are KC. Either you believe Mahomes is going to make up for some of what you'd need a punter for, or your defense will. Araiza is a great low key signing for KC. When KC needs to punt....he will punt. In some circumstances...he will punt very far....and relatively inexpensively. For this not to be an OVERALL (including financials) Araiza will have to be pretty bad. I don't think so. KC probably going to get alot of bang for the buck on this one.

When healthy: we were the best team in the league.
Zerovoltz replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speaking for myself...I've totally thought the Bills have been good enough and are good enough to win a championship for a while now. Unfortunately, the Chiefs are also good enough...and the Bengals have been right there...and this season, Baltimore was good enough to get it done also. The AFC is a guantlet. I remain convinced the Bills, with Allen are always a threat. (next year, with the Bills cap situation, it will be harder, but sometimes you win in the years you don't have the best version of your team.)
