  1. but how much of that is just the result of the top seed simply being a much better team than everyone else in their conference? I can say from the AFC, KC was easily the best team in the past 2-3 seasons already, and they would’ve made the super bowl even with an extra game IMO
  2. I just have to say, after YEARS of just hoping to get IN to the playoffs, it’s kinda cool to discuss where we will seed instead of How and when we are going to clinch a playoff berth (and for many years that was a miserable repeating pattern of holding on to the slightest shred of hope all the way up until the moment we were officially eliminated). Threads like this remind me how far we’ve come…
  3. thank you for this. Much more positive outlook than I was expecting, in regards to week 1, which is the only game that matters. Now let’s hope the “brief action” our starters get on Saturday doesn’t add any new names to the list 🤦🏻‍♂️
  4. No secret we have a laundry list of injuries. But I was hoping to have one thread relating to the severity of injuries to notable Bills players. Of the following players, do we know who is/might be expected to miss Week 1 at this time?? Any (important) names I missed, let me know. Isaiah McKenzie (Shoulder) Dion Dawkins (COVID) Spencer Brown (Knee) Harrison Phillips (Knee) Sounds like we know this one is long term Marquez Stevenson (Foot) sounds minor, but iffy to make team anyway Dane Jackson (Stinger) levi Wallace (Hip) taron Johnson (Hand) who else we got?
  5. Forget Kaepernick! If Taysom can get a starting job, I feel bad for Tebow.
  6. I belong to a card collecting / memorabilia group on Facebook that primarily consists of Buffalo Bills collectibles. If you end up wanting to move them, I am sure you could do it there. PM me if you want the name and/or an invitation (might be one of those invite-only groups not sure tbh)
  7. so I’ve always wondered.... is it pronounced like “Darrick” or “Da Rick”? the latter would be more cool ”It’s Da Rick, B*^%#”
  8. Another example of why you see so many late round draft picks and undrafted rookies produce in the nfl. Don’t waste those Top picks on running backs. Just build up your oline
  9. So, am I correct that losing to Miami would eliminate any possibility of getting them in the WC round? If so, we need to win this game!!
  10. Could Miami be a “win and in” week 17? And if they are, I wonder how soon we can determine if we would get them (assuming we beat pats and Steelers are a game behind us)
  11. interesting because as a fantasy owner of Beasley I was just reading how Pitt actually gives up the 6th highest fantasy pts in the nfl to slot receivers. It’s the outside receivers that typically see their production limited against steelers
  12. Man I hope John Brown can suit up. When he is out there, the entire offense performs at a high level.
  13. I want to believe this but not sure if it is a realistic expectation. Good defense (except for when they inexplicably start to melt down in the second half every week which is awfully familiar and is why I am interested to see how it plays out with 2 teams that can’t get out of their own way in the 3rd). Pretty sure they also get Ekeler back which is going to spark their offense. And they have a very good QB and WRs. Heck, our offenses are very similar, and the difference between the Chargers we have watched for the past 5 weeks and the Chargers we are about to face is Austin Ekeler. I believe he’s back, and he is a lot better than what they had before, and a lot better than what we have at RB. We absolutely need to win this game, and I have faith that we will because one major difference between these two teams is the Bills DO know how to finish (Hail Mary aside). Meanwhile the Chargers nearly gave the game away to the JETS last week. It’s just what they do, but they’ll also play everyone close and give you a scare which is why I’m not sure how we win by 7-10, but I sure hope so.
  14. Despite what I may think, isn’t it funny that for YEARS we were led by our defense and run game, trying to figure out how to fix the pass game and now here we are, our best team since the mid-90s, led by our pass game and trying to figure out how to fix the run game and run defense. Psrsonally, if I had to choose, I’d rather have it this way. Everyone wants to have the complete team, but who really does? Hopefully our run game can improve and complement the pass game while it remains at least as potent as it is now, and if that helps us decrease the turnovers on offense in the process, that would be the cherry on top. Despite their struggles, Chargers are still a pretty good team with a good defense, better than Seattle and Arizona, so it will be interesting to see what we look like coming out of the bye. Probably doesn’t help they are finally getting Ekeler back
  15. I think there has been some confusion in the responses in this thread. I did not disagree that the run game shouldn’t be “a priority” or even “a top priority” I just didn’t think it should be the “#1 priority” unless it means they are making the run game a priority to complement the pass game. My concern was that we over-commit to the run game to the extent it takes away from what we do best with the passing game, which is what has made this our most effective offense in years and the reason we punt a LOT less than we ever have. I agree with fixing the run game, but I am also a believer in building on existing strengths. I am fine with using the passing game to setup a more effective run game, as long as we don’t flip that script. Maybe I shouldn’t worry that would happen in the first place, but when I read that it was the #1 priority, the thought crossed my mind. and I agree, in the months of December, we need to be able to have an effective running game. I just don’t want it to ever come at the expense of what we do best on offense and potentially break something that has been working. There is a fine line here, guess time will tell
  16. True. The leads we have had in, what, 4 games so far this season are leads that we never see the Bills come back from, and yet, when we have that lead, we find a way to give it up almost every time.... in the third quarter. It’s a little scary how this team seems to depend on jumping out to these big leads. But it also presents a great opportunity if we could ever find out how to keep them going. Pats game is the only Bills win that was really close the whole way through.
  17. I am a bit concerned with reports that fixing the run game is supposedly our top priority during the bye week. While I definitely recognize the lack of production here, this is also the best offense we have had in years and it was at its best in the Seattle game, a game in which we practically neglected the run altogether. My concern is if we come out of the bye with too much of an emphasis on establishing the run game against the Chargers when we already have something that is working for us at a high level right now. Guess you could say I believe the offense has already established its identify and I would put more of an emphasis on making the pass game even more potent, perhaps work on where it has struggled at times against zone coverage and fixing the run game becomes a secondary priority. Having said that, I realize that - unfortunately - the weather will dictate the game plan to some extent and it will be important to be able to call on the run game as needed in the month of December, but again, my concern would be over-committing to establishing the run game to where it has a negative impact on our pass attack. There is something to be said about being on pace to have the least number of punts in team history and I am sure we would all like to keep it that way.
  18. Frankly, I just worry about the weather forecast when we play the Chargers. If weather forces us to convert to a run first offense again, that just isn’t our strength, no matter how much that chip has grown. If the weather allows for it, I have confidence that this offense will come out and make a huge statement for a full 60 minutes, without the 3rd quarter let down. If the weather allows for it....
  19. The hardest part is, when the day started it seemed like we were going to be healthier than we had been in weeks against the Cards, and that they would have more issues with injuries than we did. One step forward, two steps back. Always seems to be the case for the bills with injuries (and now covid)... except for 2019.
  20. 9 years old and don’t remember much from that time but I remember the Bills-Cowboys Super Bowls all too well 😢
  21. we are SO overdue for a defensive TD
  22. Last week the Pats were not the only dragon we slayed. We also overcame 3rd quarter woes for the most part. Better continue here, because 14 points is right where Russ likes to have it. Great performance by Allen though
  23. Idk guess we could figure it out but that exact scenario I laid out probably has a 0.001% chance of happening in the first place lol
  24. With 1:23 left against the Vikings, 4th down on his own 23, Russell Wilson launched a deep ball to Metcalf for 39 yards. Couple completed passes later, they were down to the Vikings 6 yard line with 50 seconds left, without having used their only time out remaining. Took Wilson 33 seconds to take the Seahawks from his own 23 to the opponent's 6 yard line, without a time out. Granted, he threw incomplete passes on 1st 2nd and 3rd down from the 6, so by the time he hit Metcalf on 4th down (when he had to have it) there was 16 seconds left. But if Wilson had only enough time to make one throw from the 6 yard line to win the game, I am not betting against him, not this year. Point is.. I only had to go back a few weeks to find an example of Wilson moving his team down the field from his own 23 in under 45 seconds. He is that good. And I'm not going to say our defense is better than the Vikings either. They were actually in control of the game until the end. Trust me, Russell Wilson is my fantasy QB this season. I've been watching him about as closely as our own!
  25. Oh they’re definitely beatable, but if - for instance - we have a 5 point lead kicking off to the Seahawks with 45 seconds and 0 time outs remaining, I am betting on Russell Wilson. And if they have more time / time outs then just forget it.
