Hitting Me Tough Again Today - What Could Have Been
ShakAttack replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah i thought I turned the corner today as well, but I had also not allowed myself to watch highlights or interviews from after the game yet. then this morning I decide to watch the Brandt segment from one bills live and they show the same highlights I was trying to avoid. I was sick to my stomach after the 4th Davis td was shown. Man… This isn’t gonna go away any time soon is it. -
Mahomes vs Allen: The Greatest Game Ever Played (cinematic video)
ShakAttack replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have yet to watch the highlights of that game, or interviews. But this morning I watched Kyle Brandt’s video from One Bills Live on the bills official site cause Brandt always makes me feel better about the Bills , but in the middle they start showing the last 3 Bills TDs in chronological order (first time I’ve seen them since the live game) and on the last one I see Davis staring down the Chiefs fans after his TD, clearly thinking he just scored the walk off TD like the rest of us…. and I felt sick to my stomach after that. All of that is to say…. yes, great game, and I’m sure a great video…. But I’m still not ready to go there. Not sure I ever will be.. lol -
I'll just say this... for the vast majority of BILLS fans to be convinced that we won the game when Allen hit Davis with 13 seconds left - despite being a fan base that has learned to EXPECT disappointment over the years - that in itself proves that it was a miracle by KC and should have never happened.

Brandon Beane Season Ending Presser Weds 1/27
ShakAttack replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd be down with bringing back Isaiah Mckenzie and letting Beasley and Manny both walk. Davis deserves to be WR2 also. -

We've closed the gap... but don't underestimate the other up-and-coming teams in the AFC. Thinking of Chargers and Bengals in particular. who are #2 and #4 in cap space respectively. It's going to be a challenge just getting to this point every single year. This season had the clearest path, especially now with Packers AND Bucs eliminated.... but... that's where I shut down my thought processes... else depression sets in. -

I'm going to the Videos section on Bills site, but i don't see any "Live" link or text.... is it just going to pop up when it officially goes live? or am I missing something. If anyone has a direct URL that be cool. This will be the first Buffalo Bills media I've allowed myself to watch since the game. Haven't watched the post game pressers (first time I haven't done that, ever) Haven't watched the highlights and possibly never will (another first for me) But, I'd really like to see Beane's year-end conference... EDIT: Just found it. For anyone else: https://www.buffalobills.com/video/bills-live -
it feels much worse because it’s Gabe Davis, our best red zone threat by a mile in the past few weeks and we were going to need that. The others, we could’ve lived with. I am actually in the unpopular minority that believes McKenzie can be just as capable or even better in the slot than Beasley (see season finale vs Miami last year, a must-win game for them in which Mckenzie arguably accomplished more than Beasley ever had…. In just one half of football)

12/19/21 Gameday Bills vs Panthers Postgame Thread
ShakAttack replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
With Colts & Steelers winning, interested to know current % at WC spot. I.e. if things don’t go our way next week… Anyone know? -
You know what bugs me the most? We’ve been at this for 20 years now with the Pats/Brady. And I feel that AT LEAST half of the games in which there have been major issues with officiating against the Bills have involved Brady’s team. Now when you consider we were playing this team for only 2 of our 16 games each season (this year 1), yet at least half of our games with inexplicably bad officiating have involved the NFL’s Golden Boy, how can you argue that it’s coincidental any more? It isn’t. And the WORST feeling for me as a fan is when you come to the realization that the NFL can and will force feed us with the success of whatever team they want. That in itself has made me wish I could stop being a fan. I was telling my buddy earlier. Drops cost us the Pats game. Refs cost us the Bucs game. I hate losing games because of self-inflicted issues, but NOTHING compares to refs dictating the game because that’s a situation the Bills have NO control over.

Well we went 13-3 without Star for an entire season… it’s mainly Tre I worry about.

How many days does it take you to process a Bills loss?
ShakAttack replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
I should take this advice. Staying off social media and message boards. Cause to be honest with you what ALWAYS makes it worse is when you see those tweets and posts like: ”Check out this PI on the throw to Knox that wasn’t called!” ”Josh would have had a TD on 4th and 14 if the Pats DB didn’t make an amazing play!” etc… Yeah, you start to add up ALL of the missed opportunities and missed calls and think to yourself “if we just got ONE of these…” In addition to the 10 you were already aware of…. And that’s what makes the day after 10x worse IMO. so your approach would probably be the remedy for me… problem is I don’t trust I have the Will power to do it 😂 -
I almost made this question specific to Pats losses. With the well-known dominance of the Patriots over the past 20 some odd years, there have been SEVERAL seasons in which losing to the Pats rendered the Bills at a new low point. It is remarkable to me that every season (except 2020) we play this team and not only do they beat us, but they ALWAYS pour salt on the wound along with it in some way. There's ALWAYS some kind of negative impact towards the rest of our season that comes with it. This year for instance... Bills lose to Pats... suddenly our guys are walking out of press conferences... suddenly you have the usually tight-lipped McDermott throwing his players under the bus, throwing McKenzie under the bus, both publicly... suddenly you have fans saying McDermott has to go... there's starting to be perceived dysfunction within this group that not too long ago was described as a close knit family...... and it's all happening after the Patriots beat us. All of these things make it all the more difficult to digest and continues to fuel our hatred towards the Patriots. BUT... As I started to think about how long it takes me to process a Bills loss, I realized that it's pretty much the same with all of them, but with the Pats it is just amplified. So, I am asking about losses in general here. In other words, I'm asking how long does it take until you are OVER IT? When does the outcome of the game stop affecting your overall mood? For me, there are distinct stages in how I process a Bills loss to the Pats. The first 24 hours suck: I get depressed and it SUCKS. It affects my mood, my relationships, my energy/motivation, you name it. This is where I'll often wonder why the heck I care about this team so much in the first place? And how nice it would be to STOP caring about football because I hate the fact that it can literally ruin an entire day for me. And that entire day consists of periodically playing back EVERY missed opportunity from the game in my mind, and with each missed opportunity identified, the frustration grows. Then by day #2: The periodic reminiscing finally begins to subside and the rationalization process begins and at some point I'll land on a stupid-ass reason to remain hopeful, but this process of BS'ing myself (maybe) is essential to moving on for me because without that hope, there is not much to get excited about when you watch. FINALLY, by DAY #3, I've officially moved on to the upcoming game... So, what about YOU? I've always wondered if other Bills fans were as tormented by losses as I am. And if so, how long it took to stop thinking about it. Interested to hear the processing/coping mechanisms others have. That's right, I admit it... I NEED HELP!! 😆

To me this game is a lot like Bills Titans. We obviously played the best version of the Titans. Henry, AJ, Julio, etc. of course the Pats had to deal with none of those guys pretty sure. Titans physical defense like Bucs. We held our own in that game, should have won, but didnt, but there’s no reason we can’t put up 30+ against Bucs if we did it against Titans (arguably best team in AFC at that time). The problem is we have 5 losses and we are 0-4 in close games. And we are 7-1 in one-sided contests. sooner or later we need to learn how to win a close game against a good team. and the funny part is, It’s usually at our own hands fumbling and bumbling all over ourselves at the end of the game, more so than it’s the defenses “stopping” us. Well… I guess you could also sprinkle in some horrible calls at the worst times by officials. There’s that too

For what it’s worth… Olaijah Griffin is essentially the top rated CB on the “Practice Squad Power Rankings” as an honorable mention along with one other CB. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/week-12-nfl-practice-squad-power-rankings-honoring-alumni-on-thanksgiving-weekend/amp/ shrug… I think he’s worth a shot though. We have a good, CB friendly system where other DBs have over-achieved IMO..

Lil Dirty - Benched (update - He’s back and better than ever)
ShakAttack replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hell, Stevenson muffed one too yesterday, but was fortunate to recover. It’s honestly 50/50 when that happens though, but you’ll only get punished when the other team recovers it 😂 -
You know, I always hoped Warren G’s kid would get promoted to active roster. This isn’t the way I hoped for it to happen, but I do hope he gets a shot. And not just cause of the name either; seems the kid has talent and a smart corner. Another undrafted, solid corner from USC like our boy Robey Coleman? Shrug

11/21 Colts at Bills, Postgame Postmortem Thread
ShakAttack replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
but Cynthia Freuland said we had a 98% chance to make playoffs before Sunday! As if we weren’t playing like sh*t and had the 7th toughest remaining schedule. WHEN we don’t make it, hope the Bills are the reason we don’t have to look at her ridiculous “advanced stat” playoff percentages ever again. -

I thought it was odd when Cynthia Freuland had us at 98% chance to make playoffs going into this game… wonder what it’s at now? And if we don’t make it, does that mean we failed to do something that advanced stats said we had a 98% chance of doing? cause I’m pretty sure 98% of bills fans would NOT be surprised 🤷🏻♂️ -
I mean … when Derrick Henry, miles Sanders and chase Edmonds all went on IR for me in fantasy…. Michael Carter was all I had left (in a 12 team league). so yeah… I like him too.

Give Allen some credit for his play today
ShakAttack replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah he’s an MVP candidate needs to manufacture points with the game on the line….. but what do you do when he is doing just that at the most important part of the game and Gabe Davis drops a pass that would’ve put us into chip shot FG range at the MINIMUM. of all the things that went wrong, that’s the one that sticks with me. I personally think Allen did everything he could when it was all on the line… …but everything that could go wrong today, did go wrong, and that was no exception -

Horrible performance on offense but without a doubt EVERYTHING that could’ve went wrong, went wrong. Speaking of which… whatever happened to Tre White on that dropped int late in the 4th quarter? He okay? I missed the first half but watched the entire 2nd.. about the ONLY break I can think of us getting was the missed deep ball by TLaw that would’ve put the game away right then and there. the other 15+ “Things that could go wrong” went wrong for the Bills
