  2. Well, it's comforting to know that Covid Donnie was willing to sacrifice tens of thousands of American lives to stave off TP shortages ....
  3. So, you equate killing/shooting unarmed black men who present little or no immediate threat to rushing into burning buildings to save people?
  4. Hank Williams Jr was never a "truth teller". His "truth" stems from his dysfunctional childhood (he was touring with country western shows as a young boy singing his famous father's songs to support his family), his long time alcohol and drug abuse, his troubled personal life, and the era and place (segregated South) in which he grew up. PS - I really like Bocephus' music but that doesn't blind me to his personal failings.
  5. I think the author of the article is trying to create an issue that isn't there. The group behavior encouraged in "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" is far more inappropriate in 2020 than any of Hank Williams' political comments made nearly a decad ago.
  6. Seriously? You and Kayleigh Mcenany must be twins.
  7. Apparently, Covid Donnie thinks the American people are as selfish and cowardly as he is.

  12. 1. "Can you "protest" while working at your job? Could you force your employer to allow you to "protest" on the job? Or, should your job be a place of work and dedication to that job when on the company's dime?" When employees have enough power, they can. Industrial labor unions demonstrated beginning in the 1930s through the 1960s. Professional sports are dependent upon individuals with special talents to have success because their "product" is entertainment. There are fewer than 10,000 men at any given time good enough to play in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Without the players, there is no product, and most -- 70 percent or more -- NFL, NBA, and MLB players are Black or Latino. That's power. They aren't the easily replaceable cogs in an industrial or commercial machine. More importantly, just because you, as a white conservative, don't recognize or ignore evidence of significant changes in society doesn't mean that those changes aren't happening or haven't happened. Society is constantly changing. Deal with it. 2. What exactly are your definitions of ""rational", "reasonable" and "unemotional"? I'm not the one calling other posters names or getting warned much less banned. I'm the one posting facts that some other posters don't like because it reminds them of the failure of the current occupant of the White House to effectively do his job, which is to lead the country. 3. Never say never. Excuse me, but I think that you're blowing smoke, lady. I've disagreed with the premises of numerous threads/posts posted on PPP, TSW, and OTW and have never had issues with Hapless except when I've been warned about the way that I wrote some posts, but never with the opposition itself. If you take your own advice and post in a "rational","reasonable", and/or "unemotional" manner, you aren't going to have posts deleted.
  13. Professional athletes -- even Black athletes -- have lives outside of sports just like you have a life outside of your job or career. They are all American citizens or legal residents which means that they have the right to express themselves just like "regular" -- ie, non-athlete -- American residents. They aren't enslaved gladiators who have to perform in the Coliseum for the Roman masses or die. ROTFLMAO!!! "PPP and forums like it are a threat to all who would love to be able suppress free speech, liberty and viewpoints that differ from their own" but you put posters you disagree with on IGNORE. That's really supporting free speech. That works for me ... if the Righties around here support to change the US Constitution to have the popular vote determine who is elected POTUS.

  16. First off, "different eras" doesn't come close to describing what pro football was like in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and especially for QBs. QBs had virtually no protection from anything except late hits. The measure of a good/great QB was his ability to stand in a collapsing pocket and heave the ball downfield to a WR 30 or more yards beyond the LOS -- and to know when to do it because QBs called their own plays back then. Receivers were regularly mugged by LBs and DBs ... and it was perfectly legal. In that kind of game, a completion percentage of 50% was about the best QBs could do, and frequently throwing far down field resulted in lots of INTs. As for Namath losing more games than he lost, QBs don't play the game alone. They didn't then and they don't now. For most of Namath's career, the Jets sucked. Part of that was, like most of the AFL teams that joined the NFL, the Bills included, they simply didn't have enough NFL caliber talent to compete regularly with the established NFL teams, three of which moved to the new AFC: Baltimore Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts dumped Don Shula after failing to make the playoffs after the 1969 season and went on to win the Super Bowl the next season. Shula went on the Dolphins where he proceeded to make the Jets suffer for that SB win for a couple of decades.

  18. The Bills were simply not an NFL caliber team through most of the 1970s except for three seasons under Lou Saban where they made the playoffs as a WC once. They had a 1 win and a 2 win season and 2 3 win seasons before all the empty seats in then Rich Stadium prompted Ralph Wilson to finally hire a bonafide NFL HC, Chuck Knox. It took Knox 2 seasons to build a playoff contending team, and in 1980, it finally happened: the Bills not only beat Miami and broke the streak, they also won the AFC East for the first time. Rich Blake wrote a memoir of the 1980 season called Talking Proud, which is still available on Amazon (Talking Proud ) for those fans interested in a trip down memory lane.
  19. I'm 70 years old. I suffered through the Bills going 0 for the 1970s against the Carp, the misery of the post-Chuck Knox 1980s, 4 Super Bowls losses, 20 years of being New England's b!tch ... I will feel at least as good as any Chiefs fan felt last February, and probably better!
  20. Why are you even bothering with those three live games??? Why don't you just go play Madden where virtual players don't have lives outside of your play station?
  21. I'll take juggernaut with questions than juggerNOT ☹️, which is what the Bills have been for a quarter of a century. ^^^ I think Belichick is worth at least 2-4 wins for the Pats, even in their current state. Belichick has always been able to thwart the Bills, from his days as the Browns HC to his tenure as Parcells' DC to his reign as the evil genius of the Pats for all these years. I hope you are right, but I wouldn't bet more than I could afford to lose on it, though, especially this season with the possibility of Covid-19 significantly impacting the season in unknown ways.
