Yesterday I had a hairy woodpecker visit my long wire tube feeder filled with sunflower seeds. Hairy woodpeckers look to be larger versions of downy woodpeckers, but are much less common. The chickadees and the gold and house finches are seriously into the sunflower seeds that are ripening up near the feeders.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I was primarily concerned that the cold temps would hurt the freezer, but it seems that it will simply not run below 20 degrees unless it's a freezer designed to be placed in cold places.

Somebody I know has had a freezer in their detached garage for years, and that's got me thinking about buying a small freezer to put in my own detached unheated garage or on my unheated enclosed back porch over the winter. I don't really have a place to keep a freezer in my house. I live in Jamestown which is only a little bit colder than right around the Buffalo suburbs. Anybody have any experience doing this?

I would rather be safe than sorry, so I just assume that school zone rules are in effect Monday through Friday. It's still worth going to court to see if you can get a deal IMO.

So, what should happen to somebody who speeds or runs stop signs or breaks other traffic laws? Should he/she be jailed? Should we abandon all traffic rules? Fines are a reasonable balance between both extremes. Since driving is a necessity for most Americans, taking away a driver's license would be a far bigger penalty than a couple of hundred dollar fine.

During the school year, you have to obey school zone rules. Most school zone speed zone signs also say "between 7 and 4 on school days" or similar. That means Monday through Friday except on legal holidays like Columbus Day or Thanksgiving break. Some school zones have flashing lights during school hours and signs say "speed limit 20 mph when flashing". Unfortunately, I've seen those lights not flashing when the school was obviously in session and sometimes flashing on weekends.

Have you gotten other speeding tix? If not, definitely go to traffic court and take their offer for paying $150 or so for a parking ticket which will not count as a moving violation and save you $$ on your insurance going forward, especially if you have a safe driver discount now. Most local traffic courts are more than willing to deal speeding tix down to parking tix for drivers who aren't frequent violators because all of the parking ticket money stays locally while moving violation ticket monies are split with NYS. Been there, done that.

I found the Bills using screens even more encouraging since these were largely missing from the Bills offense in the recent past. How about because Covid Donnie has been responsible for spreading the coronavirus to more Americans than any other single individual person? I give Allen a B+ overall. He gets an A for his passing game. I give him a B for his running game because while he carried the offense with his running, especially in the first half, his two fumbles cost the Bills potential scores and gave the Jests life going into the second half. I think that Allen's QB play in general, including his decision making and most of his mechanics, is greatly improved even from last season. He seems to have made the jump from competent NFL starter to good NFL starting QB.
