Probably a lot better than the odds of you posting something positive about the team. The last time I looked, kidnapping is illegal. A team can't kidnap a player's family to force him to sign a contract with the Bills. For example, Devante Adams wanted to play on the West Coast, so as a FA, he made a deal with the Rams. Moreover, if you would stop wallowing in negativity and paid attention to what was going on with teams and players in the last three days or so, you would know that many of the very best players likely to become FAs chose to re-sign with their current teams. It's been remarked upon repeatedly in the media and on TSW, including Godwin turning down a much bigger deal to re-sign with the Bucs.

I don't think that the FO does poor talent evaluation. I think that many fans' expectations about first and second round draft picks are unrealistic. Most of the ready-to-start future NFL stars are found in the first ten picks of any draft, and for some coveted positions like QB, DE/EDGE or OT, it's often the top 3 to 5 picks. By the time a team gets to the prospects in the bottom half of the first round and beyond, most have question marks, frequently about size or readiness for the NFL. Although these youngsters are vetted, there's no guarantee that a tweny-two-year-old who suddenly comes into a big pile of money will continue to do the things that got him that pile of money in the first place. Beane had 6 first round picks between 2018 and 2023. Only 1 (Elam) was a bust. One was an all-time great pick (Allen). Two were solid, good to very good starters (Oliver and Rousseau). One was a decent NFL starter (Edmunds) and the last one (Kincaid) had an excellent rookie season and a not-so-good sophomore season which also included a knee injury, so the jury is still out on him. Beane had 5 second round picks between 2018 and 2023. Two were busts (Ford and Basham). One is a Pro Bowler (Cook) and the other two are solid starters (Epenesa and Torrence). I think if you looked at other top teams' entire drafts over the same period, the Bills would be right with the best of them.

I got over Garrett. You'll survive.

Samuel was battling turf toe most of the season.

I think Palmer is the guy to stretch the field like they wanted Cooper to do. I think Coleman is supposed to be the big guy they wanted to fight for contested balls, especially in the red zone.

A concussion isn't like a knee injury in which the injury heals but the player may never be able to regain his speed/agility etc. -- and you can't always judge its effect until you see the player in action. Recovery from multiple concussions can be determined without seeing a player in action. Unfortunately, repetitive concussions can make another concussion more likely, but there's no way to tell if a player who has had multiple concussions will have another one. Mitch Morse, early in his stint with the Bills, had concussion concerns. I don't think that he had another one for the rest of his career.

Fans who think the current team is "cursed" are either too young to remember those 17 years in the desert or have selective amnesia about them. Nonsense. The only tragedy here has been that so many Bills fans wallow in self-pity and/or anger that they can't enjoy the ride the Bills are on with one of the greatest QBs to ever grace the NFL. Appreciate the good times.

I'll pass on Parsons.

Bosa should fit in with the Niners. They seem to like injury prone players.

I see you didn't mention Cincinnati, which made it to the SB in 2021, lost, didn't make the SB in 2022, and hasn't made the playoffs the last two years ... or the 49ers that lost the 2023 SB, and won all of 6 games last season. And how you could forget the New York Jests who went so "all in" on a SB run that they traded for Aaron Rodgers, kissed his backside by bringing in all his pals, fired their HC and GM, and are drafting #7 after a 5 win 2024 season?
-
If Cleveland won't trade Garrett, there's nothing that the Bills can do about it. If Cincinnati won't trade Hendrickson, there's nothing that the Bills can do about it. Las Vegas has already extended Crosby. I think that Dallas has extended Parsons, too. Grow up. You can't always get what you want, including a Super Bowl win. 🙄

I totally agree. Just doing the rough math from what I've read from posters much more knowledgeable about the cap implications of these moves, the Bills have opened up almost $20 million in cap space for 2025 with the Rousseau extension and Miller release. They wouldn't be doing that if they were going to "keep the status quo" as some complain.
-
These extensions actually make it much easier to do what the team needs to do -- acquire better veteran players for the defensive line, defensive backfield, and wide receiver. Not only do these moves open up some additional cap space, they also provide a financial/cap blueprint for the next four years, so that Beane knows what the cap situation is now and what it will be over the next years. That's essential for writing contract proposals for UFAs.
-
I agree that the first three are very likely to happen. It's almost a no-brainer. I do think that the Bills will try to trade for a pass rusher, and I've been on the Get-Garrett bandwagon since Day 1, but they may have to settle for somebody else. I'm not hopeful about trading for Garrett because of the dead cap hit Cleveland would have to take if they do decide to trade him. They might be more amenable to a trade after 6/1 because the cap hit would be considerably less -- and they may be ready to accommodate an angry Miles Garrett by then.

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)
SoTier replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not your opinions that I have a problem with. It's the tone of many of your posts that you use to re-enforce some of your opinions. I specifically referred to this comment about Rousseau in the conference championship game: "The one category that I know Rousseau led the league in is 'amount of times pancaked into the earth by the Chiefs backup running back.'” ... and there have been several others with a similar bitter tone recently. -

One thing I know, you are definitely NOT a "glass half empty" kind of guy. More like "the glass is totally empty and has a hole in the bottom" kind of guy. Your posts have become simply a litany of one embittered complaint after another. -

Actually, it seems like a sound move to build a solid base of starters for moving forward. No team can have stars at every position, especially when they are paying a top franchise QB. Beane seems to be positioning the Bills to be able to make some significant moves in FA because the extensions will create some decent cap space in 2025 and won't force the Bills to earmark draft picks to fill holes created by not re-signing their own players. The cap space and draft picks can be used to acquire better players where they're needed ... defensive line, defensive backfield, and wide receiver. Ummm ... the "legal tampering" period doesn't begin until Monday, and FA doesn't officially start until Wednesday. -
It's like a several years ago when there were two WRs named Mike Williams in the NFL between 2010 and 2011: Mike Williams, WR, 2005-2011, Lions, Raiders, Seahawks, Titans Mike Williams, WR, 2010-2014, Bills, Buccaneers

Some nay-sayers are five years or more behind the times when it comes to NFL salary levels. Then there are some GM wannabe posters who simply hate on anything and everything that the Bills do.

3 KC Chiefs Fans Found Frozen to Death after Charger game
SoTier replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, these were doomed even if it had been 75 degrees ... from drug overdoses. That's not nearly as dramatic as freezing to death in your best bud's backyard. -
Compared to good OTs, especially LTs, good CBs are easy to find in the draft. Moreover, ready-to-play OTs are seldom found outside the top ten while ready-to-play CBs can be found even late in Round 1. KC needs to fill their hole at LT this coming season. I think they'll be seeking a veteran either through FA or trade.

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?

My bad! I forgot one. -
Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
SoTier replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
You guys don't get it. It's the crucify every player except Josh Allen-every coach-every move made by the GM-on the Bills season among a certain segment of posters on TSW. Injuries are just excuses. Salary cap limits are just more excuses. Every player except Allen is second rate. Nobody can make mistakes and nobody can ever improve. The HC and coordinators are trash. The GM is incompetent because he can't draft players who become All Pros as rookies. The Bills are doomed to losing unless there's total regime change.
