  1. I'll say it everytime something comes up about Chad Kelly He has done good work for the ARC of Erie County. Watching him work with both adults and kids with special needs, you wouldn't think he was the terrible guy some of you say he is. His chalk talks at Kelly Camp about the mistakes he has made in his life, and how he pretty much was throwing his opportunities away, impacted my son greatly. He still brings them up. Has he done idiotic stuff, yes. Was he privileged, yes. That said, I truly hope people take a step back and think about their own shortcomings before casting the first stone here.
  2. Makes complete sense. Thank you man!
  3. Good to hear man. I honestly am a little heartbroken for the kid. He eats, sleeps and breathes football and basketball. He picked up a football at 3 years old and never looked back. I pick him up from practice now and the spark is kinda gone. He is a massive Michigan Wolverines fan, not sure where it came from because I am not. But tonight after practice I told him "who knows man, maybe when you hit your growth spurt you'll end up 6'3 310 and all of this experience will be amazing. Michigan is known for offensive lineman ya know!" This parenting thing is tough because I truthfully dont know what to tell him. Hard line to walk because I dont want him questioning his coach. Thank you for the positivity.
  4. Very cool to hear about other people's kids football experiences. Congrats to your kid. My kid has played youth football for the last four years. Started as a tight end, linebacker, and safety. Moved to starting Quarterback in his 5th and 6th grade year. Played fantastic last year leading his team to an undefeated season. Moved to modified football this year as the high school is small and doesnt have a JV program. So essentially a group of 7th-9th graders. I didnt expect him to play Quarterback, and honestly didnt expect him to start this year. But the coach in his infinite wisdom moved him to starting left guard. My kid is 12 years old and is 5'5 110 lbs. This is where I could use advice. Some of the schools on their schedule send out their JV squads. I am trying to teach him to be resolute and just do what his coach tells him. However, the coach is doing things like making the principals son starting WR in 7th grade when the kid hasnt played a down of football in his life. That said, how long do I go on telling him to be resolute when I am going to have to watch him be manhandled most games? Doing my best at teaching him technique, stay low, wide base etc but at 110 lbs I am a little worried.
  5. And have a QB on a 5th year option rather than an extended contract.
  6. I dont fully disagree, but nowadays it seems like its en vogue to hire the coach before the GM.
  7. If people had a realistic view of the NFL draft they'd realize more picks are missed than hit. The real litmus test for an organization is win/loss and the Bills are doing more than fine in that category.
  8. There is one HR a GM can hit..one. And thats drafting a franchise QB. He hit the HR already.
  9. Giants guys also think Daniel Jones is leading them to a Super Bowl so theres that.
  10. Player who averages 2 sacks a year gets traded and OBD goes nuts. Please God can the real season start already.
  11. Because they are the Cowboys.
  12. My Lord! Can the real football please start soon. Speaks to how sickly obsessed we are with the NFL when a guy looking at schedule and making guesses on win totals based on a roster is news. That said, split with Dolphins and Jets, beat the Pats twice, 11-6/12-5.
  13. Dolphins and Pats have QBs on rookie contracts. A lot easier to pay other guys when you dont have a QB taking up so much salary cap space. Jets brought in Rodgers and Cook, fine, but every other potential star they have was drafted. They were able to draft those guys because they stink every year. Welcome to having a Franchise QB. Hard to spend in free agency because QBs cost a lot. Hard to draft blue chip players because you are in the playoffs every year. What he is worth, given how many games he's missed and how much tread is already off his tires between college and the NFL, is top 10 runningback money. Think 7 million. What he wants is to reset the market think between 17-18 million. If a contract renewal wasnt involved, I'd give up a 1st round pick for him all day. What I would not be up for is overpaying for the guy by 10-11 million dollars.
  14. When he was first coming back I followed the White Rabbit stuff. I am not a WWE viewer but when he came back to Smackdown I'd change the channel over from whatever I was watching just to see if I could catch a Bray Wyatt segment. Sadly, we will never get to see where he was taking this. Such a great mind, gone way too soon.
  15. Holy crap...just absolutely unbelievable. So sad for his family and kids. My Dad passed away at 38 from a heart attack, something I'll never get over. So amazingly gutted for his family.
  16. No, leadership probably gets the talent on this team further than it should. McDermott is a Mark Batterson disciple, his whole shtick centers around being a great leader of men. Say what you want about McDermott, but he is a great leader. I think he gives more thought about that aspect in one day than most of us do in a lifetime. Josh Allen, Stef Diggs, Mitch Morse, Micah Hyde, Tre White, Jordan Poyer, Dawson Knox, Dion Dawkins- I think there is plenty of leadership in the Bills locker room. Its pretty simple. The Bills dont lack leadership. The Bills lack Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. I honestly believe the Bills would have a Lombardi by now if it wasnt for those two.
  17. Absolute horse crap. I've never been so broke. Between my student loans, gas prices, food prices and the unfortunate status of being upper middle class, this country has nothing for me.
  18. Rest well Shawn. Sorry for your loss brother.
  19. Loved the Funeral. Sad to see another legend go. Had his 1982 Legends of Wrestling Rookie card and just sold it last month. Regretted it the second it was gone. RIP.
  20. Wont know until they play actual games. Everything else is just nonsense and conjecture.
  21. Maybe its simplistic but its far from a "hot take." Only 5 of the 16 returners who qualified to have their stats tracked (number of qualifying returns) averaged more than 25 yards per return last year. Given that average, you have a 31% chance of making it to the 25 when returning a kick out of the front of the end zone, that percentage decreases every 3 feet you go into the end zone. As such, there is really no reason to ever bring the ball out. 6 of those 16 players failed to have a return average over 20 yards. As such, on average, applicable returners are only 62% likely to progress the ball over the 25 yard line if they catch the ball at the 5. How many kickoffs do you see caught at the 5 yard line or beyond? The new rule coupled with the kickoff being moved up doesn't totally remove the kickoff return from the game, but I think its fair to say a heavy focus on a return man isnt necessary.
  22. Also making a brief appearance in this video is future Bills owner Matthew Pegula. Is it just me or does Thad Brown come across exactly like someone named Thad would?
  23. He's been honest when the Bills have been bad. Despite what many on this board may think, they havent been bad in 3 seasons or so.
  24. Thats one beautiful resonator he is playing. Good tune. Exactly the thing people need to here.
