Training camp a rainy July 31 2025 day
thenorthremembers replied to scuba guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it really depends on the style of defense. To your point Wilfork was 6'2 325, Casey Hampton was 6'1 325. Then again, Ted Washington was 6'5 325. For linemen in general I think its advantageous for guys with longer arms to play on the edge, and for more stout players to play inside. My concern is when I hear about a guy who is really tall the 6'7s the 6'8s or 6'9s with pre-existing back problems. -

Stroud and Campbell both played sub 315 pounds. The Henderson point is a good one, and actually a nice body comp for Walker. That said, Henderson was a mad man. If Walker can get that sort of blood flowing through his veins watch out. -

Did you read my post? My point was whether the Bills have him at 1 tech or 3 tech. There arent a lot of 6'7 1 techs walking around. Thats because playing 1 tech requires good leverage. Guys who are 6'7 with bad backs arent usually the best benders, which is something good leverage requires. Yes, defensive tackle requires players to be "big and heavy" I dont expect Walker to be 6'7 185, but if he is going to play 3 tech he should consider losing some weight in his belly. How do you think the pars defect happened? How do the Bills best maximize his athletic ability and make sure he stays available? -

I am very curious about the first depth chart to see where they are using Deone Walker. Given his size I feel like people assume he is a 1 Tech, but I feel like he could use to lose about 20-30 pounds as a 3 tech. He is a massive guy, but he carries a ton of weight in his belly, and isnt very stout in his lower body. Incredibly gifted football player, but I think part of what drove teams away from him is the lower back and conditioning issues. Both of which could be a result of carrying bad weight. -
Wishbone and 46 (can it still work in modern day NFL)
thenorthremembers replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not how football works at any level anymore. You can run a play out of the wishbone, you can have elements of your defense that is 4-6, but very few defenses run straight base defenses anymore. Specific to the wishbone, you cant eliminate the pass threat and be successful, not even in high school football. -

Way way too young. Many condolences to her family. -
Speaks a lot to how a great QB makes everyone around him better. The bottom line with Gabe is you cant have a featured wideout who cant catch the ball.

Do you still watch the NFL Hall of Fame inductions?
thenorthremembers replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Depends on who is speaking. If there is a player I liked watching play a lot I'll listen in. The only two I've watched in the last ten years were Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. -
As you can tell from my username...I am all for anything Game of Thrones.

Preseason - Around the League
thenorthremembers replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wilkins was well on his way to another good season last year. The year before that he was an absolute menace. That said, he is 30 years old coming off a foot injury, lower body is never good for guys over 300 pounds. Would be all for bringing him in if he fits the culture, but I dont expect him to sign anywhere for less than 13 million. I'd watch NE. Minnesota, Miami and Carolina for a move here. -
I use this line on my wife when she is mad at me. For instance, she might say "the student loan bill is late." I would say "I couldnt care less about the loans struggling, I wanna kiss you." 60% of the time, it works everytime.

Can this week just end already? I was a little Hulkamaniac. Dressed as Hogan for Halloween two years straight when I was a kid. Just like Ozzy, this one is gutting. Just an absolute ICON. Now I have to read and listen a bunch of sinless people comment on the bad things the guy did in his life in spite of all the good he did.

Until the NFL gets involved and treats this like a developmental league its not going to work. There has to be something outside of boredom that ties people to the league.

No, its the first day of camp. If Keon cant cut the mustard, there is a whole depth chart of wideouts waiting for their opportunity. Someone will step up if he cant.

Absolutely gutted by this one. I remember my very Christian grandmother taking me to buy music when I was around 8 years old. I picked out Sabbath Paranoid, and AC/DC Let There Be Rock. Still amazed to this day that my grandmother let me listen to both in the van on the way home. Started my first band when I was 12 and my biggest dream was getting to play Ozzfest. In interviews his personality came across less like the Prince of Darkness, and more like the humble kid from Birmingham who really loved the Beatles. His story always inspired me. Not a look at me post, so Ill spare the details, while I never got to play Ozzfest, I did ok. So much of what pushed me to play music came from Ozzy's story. Really wish he got to sing a song with Paul McCartney before he passed on. Rest in Peace Oz, you earned it brother.

Cant pay a guy $15 million dollars a year when his show is losing $40 million dollars a year. Excuse me while I play the world's tiniest violin for the guy with a net worth of $75 million dollars when I watch people making less than $20 dollars an hour get laid off by corporations every few years to ensure no one stays at a job for too long.

The bottom line on this is it's not a partisan issue. Both parties are cowards for not being more forthcoming with the Epstein information. If there is proof that Trump molested young girls, he needs to be impeached and sent to jail. If there is proof that Clinton molested young girls, his Presidential Library needs to be tore down and he needs to go to jail. If there is proof Bush, Obama, and Biden all covered up those activities they also need to be thrown in jail . If there is no concrete evidence of any of the above happening the media outlets reporting it should be sued and discredited.

Not sensitive. It was just a nonsense comment. Did they not show Ray Davis a ton? Did they show Trubisky at all?
