  1. Please for the love of God lose out and draft a quarterback. It is the only way this will ever ever change
  2. When someone compares Mayfield and Manziel its the first sign that person has only watched Mayfield here and there. Manziel was a scramble first quarterback that rolled out constantly and played sandlot football. A majority of Mayfields throws come from the pocket and the ball is out quick. Not at all the same player. Similar height maybe but Mayfield is a pocket thrower. Mayfield has been held to a different standard. He grabs his nuts and he is classless. Rosen wears a f**k trump hat and people rave about his social awareness. Give me a break with the fake outrage. Please go on and tell me how classy Brett Favre was.
  3. Possibly, and maybe its an evolving issue though. 50% of the Quarterbacks taken in the draft last year were African American.
  4. Regardless if he said it recently or not, the narrative is out there. Heard it yesterday on WGR and now ESPN is running with it. Bottom line is good Quarterbacks dont get benched. Ask Warren Moon, Donovan McNabb, Dante Culpepper in Minnesota, Michael Vick, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Jameis Winston and you can even add Marcus Mariota to that mix because I dont think its fair to limit the scope of the statement. The statement is wrong, and detrimental in so many ways.
  5. Leading up to the draft last year I thought a good comparison for Petereman was T.J. Yates, similar size, skill set. Will have to see how it shakes out but my favorite part of the move had nothing to do with Peterman. For me it was more about moving forward from being stuck in the cycle of 7-9 or 8-8. The need for this team to bottom out and get a legitimate 1st round talent at quarterback is long overdue. Best case scenario Peterman is great and gets us to the playoffs Worst case scenario he is terrible, we lose out and have a top 10-15 pick in the draft this year.
  6. I agree, I walked away from the last week's game with the same feeling I had when I watched E.J. play Jacksonville in London, I cant watch this guy play another down in the NFL. Schopp is hurt because he put his neck out three weeks ago to write about how Tyrod is better than everyone thinks. You'd think with all the football the guy has watched over time he would understand stats dont tell the entire story. E.J. also threw more touchdowns than he did interceptions, didnt mean he could play quarterback with anything short of ineptitude.
  7. I think he is an absolute long shot to sign as a starter anywhere next year, but I would imagine Cleveland would be in play if Hue Jackson remains the coach. All of the Denver stuff is old now, and was always predicated on the fact that Kubiak was there and used to be Tyrod's coach in Baltimore. Oddly enough, we got to see exactly how that would have turned out this year in Buffalo with Dennison as his OC. Who knows maybe Arizona, Washington, or Jacksonville but he really should only be signed as a backup from here out.
  8. Remember the huge to do about Deshaun Watson's lack of arm strength at this years combine? Had the weakest arm with the poorest velocity of any quarterback there. If any of these guys truly had a "noodle arm" they wouldnt be in the NFL. Peterman can make up for the lack of velocity by being ahead of the curve when it comes to reading defenses and getting the ball out quickly. Where I think the real issue is with Nate is his inaccuracy. Has a tendency to miss wide and high.
  9. They are winning on other teams and what do those teams have that we dont? Rams- #1 overall pick from last year at QB Eagles- #2 overall pick from last year at QB Patriots- Tom Brady Jaguars- Played Tom Savage and Jacoby Brissett four times this year as well as a last place schedule.
  10. Can you tell me what we won with that young talent? Can you also explain to me what that young talent outside of Robert Woods who was a free agent and not a cast off is doing to light up the league? Not alarming at all, actually pretty common sense based.
  11. Not being a good defense, run game, blocking scheme was not Tyrod's fault. I concede to you there. However, if you expect everything to fall into place for the perfect season then you'll be waiting a long long time for a good team. The fact that we have a awful quarterback was however Tyrod's fault, and having a good quarterback takes care of every other issue you have.
  12. Do you guys not remember him trying to find a starting job last offseason when the Bills pulled back his deal and re-worked it? Or am I alone in that?
  13. Agreed Tyrod isnt Brady. But you dont need Brady you could even have Dalton and make it to the playoffs without a great defense. Tyrod is a bottom tier NFL starting quarterback who really should be a backup somewhere. On the Marrone tip, you do know he is an offensive coach right? Giving him any credit for his defense is an atrocious take. I am willing to bet anything the Jaguars fall off majorly next year when Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson are back and they have to play a 1st place schedule.
  14. The defense was never downright awful. They were middle of the road with Rex, and have had a few bad games this year, just like defenses always always do. The Patriots defense is horrendous, Pittsburgh was terrible for the better part of the last five years. Defense doesnt win you anything! You have to stop waiting for the anomaly like the Jaguars this year, and start understanding what wins in the NFL and Tyrod Freaking Taylor is not it.
  15. And how many games did we win doing that? Tyrod is a back up quarterback plain and simple. Much rather play like its 1999 than 1977 trying to run the ball and win with defense.
  16. Defenses get gashed in the NFL. You have to score touchdowns. You cant average 6.6 yards an attempt and rely on your defense to try and win in the league. The only way to be sustainable is to have a quarterback, I am glad our Coach knows that. Peterman may not be that guy, but the second it was obvious Tyrod wasnt he should have come out.
  17. Bottom line is a quarterback cant throw for 56 yards in a game and keep his job. Much rather have someone go down firing than to be completely inept. We were basically playing without a quarterback.
  18. I dont think McProcess loves Tyrod at all. I think he knew Tyrod was the best option to start the season and with the current record he knows there is a delicate balance to how things should be done right now. You cant move to Peterman until you are mathematically eliminated or you run the chance of sending a message that was contradictory to the one you've been preaching all season. Right now I am still of the mind that Beane and McDermott understand they have to go and find a Quarterback. I will trust that until they give me a reason to believe they dont. And I was wrong.
  19. True, but at their best they were/are quarterbacks who were playoff to superbowl caliber and who were effecient at keeping their defense from being pounded into the ground by time of possession. Honestly, I think McNabb is probably one of the more underrated Quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
  20. Oh God, this again? We all have to open our eyes a bit and realize that everything about the NFL game correlates to the Quarterback. Good coaches have good quarterbacks, look at Belichick's win percentage before Brady, >50%. Did we miss out on McVay and Phillips? No we missed out on the 2nd year of the #1 overall pick. Want to know what's different about Carolina's defense this year? Their stud quarterback isn't hurt and playing like crap like he did in 2016. Go back to his 2015 season and see how good their defense was then, I'll save you the time...they were 6th overall. So did McDermott suddenly forget how to coach defense in the last two years or did he end up with a starting quarterback who cant throw the ball well and doesn't pick up third downs? Defense is irrelevant in the league, almost as irrelevant as coaching. As of the end of last year these were the top active coaches in terms of win%, what do they have in common? They coached good to great quarterbacks. They also had defenses that varied in rank from year to year. Table 1. Top Five Active NFL Coaches Win % Coach Career Win% Quarterback Belichick 0.67 Brady Arians 0.648 Luck, Palmer McCarthy 0.645 Favre, Rodgers Tomlin 0.637 Roethlisberger Reid 0.602 Mcnabb, Smith
  21. Sixth seed most likely plays Jacksonville in the first round. Not 100% sure that would be one and done.
  22. Haha, learned the lesson the hard way. I assumed until I was 8 my Dad was a Bills fan. Found out in 1991 he was actually a Raiders fan. Still loved hearing his stories about Jack Tatum though. 1991 also happened to be the 51-3 game, so a bit of poetic justice as well.
  23. A great reminder of why we endure the long suffering. My son is just about to turn six and its been a complete blessing to share the team with him despite the losses. I told him he is free to be a fan of any team of his choosing, but he wants to be a Bills fan. Much love to you for this reminder. Thank you and Go Bills!
  24. We will have to see what happens with Rivers, but they dont have a tough remaining schedule. They have us, Cowboys without Zeke, Cleveland, Washington, KC, Oakland, and NYJ to round out the season. If Rivers plays they have a chance in all but maybe the KC game which would get them to 9 and 7. They are in a very similar situation to Buffalo. I The game this weekend is huge for the playoff push. Bills win and they have a 76% chance.
