  1. Breeland couldnt pass a physical this summer. My guess is they activate Lewis and Wallce. Long shot is signing Leonard Johnson.
  2. He was very good. I think him being "forgotten" or "underrated" has more to do with him playing guard. Personally, I think Aaron Schobel may qualify here as well and he played a more premiere position.
  3. This has Dallas written all over it. Wouldnt mind brining him in for a look. Give them the Raiders 5th or a 6th. Doubt they will do it, but if Corey Coleman is worth a shot Josh Gordon most definitely is.
  4. 20/34 242 Yrds 2 Tds 1 Int.
  5. Speaking of commercials is that Hillary Clinton in the Vikings getup during the Antonio Brown commercial they aired?
  6. The thing I struggle with when it comes to Schoop is his constant elitism. He tends to crap on anything he thinks is the accepted norm in an attempt to portray himself as intelligent but what he doesn't appear to realize is all the hipster counter culture stuff he spews is actually the norm and not counter culture at all. Think the goth kids from South Park.
  7. I just like that they dug into the reel to reels to bring us that. Was hoping they would dust off a few of those binders and explain a few things, maybe next week. Probably not a smart idea to leave plays on the whiteboard though, Belichick is watching everything and could pick up on that. Erase that thing next time guys.
  8. You made a blanket statement about them purging talent, it isnt a stretch to say that narrative would include Sammy. Although any who uses "the purging talent" narrative is basing their opinion on conjecture and not reality. I'll agree with you Dareus has all the talent in the world. But, what I dont agree with is your assertion he has all the sudden played well because he is back with Marrone. He has 21 tackles and 1, count them 1 sack in the last ten games with Marrone. For your reference, Adolphus Washington had 22 tackles and a sack in the same time span. And he is currently looking for a job. But please go on about how silly I am. When Dareus is a full time starter is Jacksonville please let me know. But for now, I think getting a draft pick for a guy with the production of Adolphus Washington and the contract of Geno Atkins was actually a pretty solid move. Especially considering said guy is a complete mess of a human being.
  9. Correction all of the reactions in this thread are weird. He literally said "It was my decision" He was more than likely pissed the report was leaked before the press conference. The idea that he likes Peterman who he drafted in the 5th round, more than the guy he gave away picks and players to go up and get at #7 overall is inane.
  10. He was academic All Big Ten twice, and a six time scholar athlete at Nebraska. He will be just fine in life.
  11. I get what you're saying from a job perspective but this is a 25 year old guy who made 100k last year on the practice squad and most likely had his housing paid for. If you made 100k at 25 with most of your expenses paid, a degree to fall back on and no student loans would you be that stressed? I imagine some of that cash made it to a savings account.
  12. They purged a defensive tackle who was making 13 million dollars a year to not produce on the field and be a complete numb nuts off of it. He hasn't made the pro bowl since he signed his huge contract, and has less sacks in the last three years combined than he did in his one monster year alone. They purged a wideout who has averaged 2 catches for 32 yards a game since he left despite everyone in the world lining up to tell me how elite his talent level is. The chiefs can go ahead and pay 14 million a year for that elite talent. They purged a cornerback who has twice now been involved in covering up for a guy who can't seem to keep his unwanted hands off women. I'll take the pick. People want to look backwards like the Bills were loaded with talent. Where did it get them? The answer is no where. The Bills needed a QB and they did everything they could to get in line to bring one in. Cannot believe we are still bemoaning the loss of defensive tackles, right cornerbacks and wideouts who don't produce. You don't win super bowls with defensive tackles.
  13. Man that one hits home. Lost my Dad when I was 10. Really appreciate this guy sharing his story and will be cheering him on a little more because of it.
  14. Hire Eric Bieniemy as head coach. Honestly like Beane and McDermott but the scared of their shadow routine is getting a little old. Also, didnt care for him repeatedly saying "it's only year 2" yesterday. Most coaches only get 3 years, you're on the clock fella.
  15. Pretty sure the Lions spent a ton of high picks on offensive and defensive line recently as well. What the Jets proved is when the other QB sucks, and yours has a serviceable game, you usually win. If the reason Josh Allen didn't start was our front office and coaching staff was scared, we have a much bigger problem.
  16. Gotta play him. You don't get anywhere in this league playing scared. If you start him you know if he is awful a lot faster. Id much rather watch growing pains knowing it gets us somewhere, than a 5th round pick throw up on himself every week.
  17. Had a feeling that was coming. Could care less about Adolphus as a player, but he wasn't even close to the biggest issue yesterday. Would hope they did this for Jonathan Hankins but I will be waiting for the Robert Thomas call up.
  18. I am not sure what youre getting at. I 100% expected them to be terrible. Think I posted I expected them to have the 1st pick as early as May or June. I honestly am not emotional about it at all. I am fervently aware that this all goes as Josh Allen does.
  19. If the guy is an executive in the football area he is a part of the mess and his opinion means very little. If he is an executive outside of the football operation his opinion on the football side of things means even less.
  20. Below is a chart of listing a subset of 1st round QBs first two years in the league, and the amount of times they were sacked in their so called "developmental years" (2004-2013.) I also included David Carr because he has become the poster boy for the argument "Quarterbacks who get hit a lot dont succeed." Note, I did not include quarterbacks drafted since 2014 as I think it's too early to say they were a success or not. I have always been of the mind that QBs don't necessarily "develop" just get somewhat better from their baseline coming out of college. Personally feel like the good ones were already destined to be good the second they stepped on the field, regardless of how many times they got hit, unless said hit ended their career completely. Player GMS Sack Sack Per Game David Carr 27 91 3.37037037 Ryan Tannehill 32 93 2.90625 Alex Smith 23 64 2.782608696 Brandon Weeden 20 55 2.75 Jake Locker 11 30 2.727272727 Sam Bradford 26 70 2.692307692 Aaron Rodgers 32 84 2.625 Blaine Gabbert 24 62 2.583333333 EJ Manuel 16 40 2.5 Robert Griffin III 28 68 2.428571429 Christian Ponder 26 62 2.384615385 Andrew Luck 32 73 2.28125 Cam Newton 32 71 2.21875 Matthew Stafford 13 28 2.153846154 Joe Flacco 32 68 2.125 Ben Roethlisberger 25 53 2.12 Eli Manning 23 41 1.782608696 Mark Sanchez 31 53 1.709677419 Philip Rivers 18 30 1.666666667 Jason Campbell 20 28 1.4 Matt Ryan 30 36 1.2
  21. I respectfully concede.
  22. My opinion, but outside of shows like E:60 I think ESPN's network schedule of two to three guys yelling at one another is dribble. You dont have massive layoffs by being the best at what you do.
  23. Ryan Kalil already announced he will be retiring at the end of the season.
  24. Believe what you want my friend. He had one winning season out of the six he coached before Brady became the starter in New England. That includes his first year with New England when he was 5-11. Not sure what the Matt Cassell was in reference to, Bill's first superbowl win was in 2001, Cassell wasnt in the league until 2005. If you're talking about the year Brady was out for the season, I'll give you that, and change my tune to "Belichick had 2 winning seasons in his 7 without Brady."
  25. Did anyone on this board seriously expect them to be good?
