If AJ McCarron plays great
HiddenInLight replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If AJ McCarron plays great then we have a guy that can play well as a backup if he can't outplay McCarron. Also it allows Allen to sit on the bench and learn until he is ready to outplay AJ. If that never happens, at least we took a swing. You miss every shot you don't take. -
Erie County Executive concerned about fan behavior
HiddenInLight replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, some of the behavior does need to be toned down a little bit. People are going to hurt themselves. That being said, i don't think making more laws and cracking down on the lot owners is the answer. I think the answer is having a larger police presence in and around the stadium. Anybody walking in the game that is too shitfaced to control themselves gets turned away. Anybody who gets to that point during the game gets ejected. Give the security guards doing bag searches and running the metal detectors the ability to deny entry. IMO it's as simple as forcing people to cut back on the drinking before the game. Let people do what they want on private property, but the second they try and get into the game make it known that that level of intoxication is unacceptable. -
TBH at this point it is what it is. Those tweets were deleted in January when whoever was taking care of his draft prep found them. The fact that they were saved and released at a later date proves that it was somebody with a vested interest in him falling. That points to Buffalo, Arizona, Miami, or NE. IMO it likely wasn't Buffalo, because that just seems out of character for everybody on our staff unless it was Russ Brandon, who seems like he'd do something like that. Personally I believe it was Arizona. They entered this draft with almost no draft capital to make a trade, and knew they'd be fighting between 1 and 4 other teams to trade up for him. Knowing they won't win a bidding war against anybody it makes sense that they would do something desperate like that to try and knock him off of a few other teams boards. If not Arizona it may have likely been NE. NE seems to like the low floor high ceiling boom/bust type of QB prospects, and IMO they are getting increasingly desperate to find a Brady replacement. I think the rumblings about how things are going down in NE have at least some basis on truth.

Every Josh Allen TD pass in 2016/2017
HiddenInLight replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looks good. It seems like he was able to make some plays without a grate group of guys to catch the ball. That being said, when Charles Clay is healthy, that is going to be a lethal target for him. Additionally, I think he is going to love Benjamin in the end zone. If we could get ourselves a burner to play outside, across from Benjamin, we'll have a pretty decent receiver corps when healthy. -
Trading him doesn't provide any cap relief at all. Why get rid of talent with no real reward?

Your reply had nothing to do with my response. All I was saying is that right now, the best we can assume without seeing McCarron in our offense taking snaps is that he is going to be at best, slightly worse then Andy Dalton. Assuming the Bengals' coaches aren't incompetant, since we took their backup quarterback, it stands to logic that he will be not as good as their starter, otherwise he would be the starter. As for Allen, my response didn't really have much to do with him, except point out that he shouldn't start until he gives us a better chance to win then AJ.

Post-Draft NFL.com Power Rankings
HiddenInLight replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be honest, best case scenario is that AJ comes out and sets the league on fire, and STILL gets overtaken by Allen at the Bye. Allen shows the coaches in practice and TC that he's ready to go and better then AJ. Bills bench AJ and are lead to their first superbowl win by this crazy rookie player who then goes on to have a HOF career winning more superbowls then Tom Brady, without any of the cheating. AJ gets traded in the offseason to the Browns for their first overall pick because they have inexplicably been unable to win a single game for the second year in a row. -
Honestly, what is Dalton? An above average starter in this league? IMO McCarron falls somewhere under wherever Dalton sits on the scale. He likely won't be better, as otherwise he would be starting for the Bengals. How much worse is the matter up for interpretation. Personally I see him as an average starter. Good enough to hold down the fort until Allen is either ready or becomes clear that he is not the answer (Hopefully the former).

Honestly, I'd love to see AJ come out playing like a probowler this year. I'd love to see the same thing with Allen. That being said, as long as our starter is helping us win games instead of causing us to lose games I don't care what name is on the back of the Jersey. Personally, I think AJ comes out playing like an average QB option, maybe giving a little less upside then Andy Dalton would give. Allen sits on the bench for at least half the year, if not all season, and wins the starting job next year. Peterman doesn't likely finish the year on the roster. -

RD 6, 187 Ray-Ray McCloud - WR Clemson
HiddenInLight replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like he has some good hands, which seems to be his best trait other then the fact that he is versatile. Good trait to have I guess. Maybe coach him up? -
Allen and Wentz is my guess. IIRC I think EJ ran a faster 40 time.

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming
HiddenInLight replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went into the draft saying anybody but Allen. After sleeping on it, I feel a little better. He's our QB of the future for better or for worse. On the bright side, he does do one thing we were all screaming at Tyrod to do, which is trust your receivers. He throws those contested balls, and may shine with Benjamin on the roster. In the mean time we have AJ McCarron on the roster to act as a bridge until he is ready to start, and hopefully he won't trip over a rubber mat and end his career. At this point I'm willing to keep an open mind on our new QB. -
Beane cost us the 3rd overall pick. JMO

Or maybe Beane already had a deal in place with the Giants. -
NEW Bills Stadium question
HiddenInLight replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd prefer retractable roof, as the weather in buffalo for the first half of the year is actually really nice. It only starts to get about halfway through the year. -
The guy is basically a young EJ Manuel. Everything that happens around this guy reminds me of EJ, Hype started to really take off after the senior bowl. People talking about how he could go very early despite the fact that they have a 2nd round grade on him. He has all the measurables you want and a great arm, but not great accuracy. His mechanics need a lot of work.....They are all things that we said about EJ right before he was drafted. I was in the EJ camp at the time, but I really don't want to go through that again. I'm tired of never being able to come back in a game because we can't move the ball in the pass game. I'm tired of considering a 200 yard game exceptional. Lets get a real QB and make this team relevant again.

PAuline: agreement in principle with giants
HiddenInLight replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many of those players were on teams that already had franchise quarterbacks, or played on the team with one for the majority of their careers? My bet is a lot. H.O.F. guys and pro-bowlers usually play for good teams. Good teams have franchise quarterbacks. -
Honestly I feel like this is people trying to make trouble where there is none. That being said, it doesn't matter how he feels about personnel, as it's not his job to worry about that.
