  1. It's all about development. Peterman has a full NFL season under his belt that he actually played in, could learn and develop from. And he's looking good in the off-season so far.
  2. If Peterman performs best you start Peterman. You don't get Allen experience at the expense of the team if he looks every bit the rookie, with guys ahead of him that can lead the offense right now. You continue to bring him along patiently as Daboll and McDermott seem content with doing until they feel he's up.
  3. I agree. But if Allen looks shellshocked, confused, and overwhelmed then he won't start. Pretty obvious. I'm not talking "raw", I'm talking outright being referred to as a "project" by people in the media who cover NFL prospects. I think you're the one dodging the reality that Allen may not be as up to speed as soon as a lot of fans may hope for.
  4. Having experience gives an advantage to the experienced QB over the inexperienced QB. If Allen doesn't look ready, it'll likely be because he isn't ready, due to lack of experience. I don't think Allen will show that he's ready to be handed the reins this early on and I believe Nathan Peterman has a very good chance coming out of this thing being the guy better suited to lead the offense due to off-season development and improved play. I already suggested that it's Allen's job to lose when he shows that he's ready to take over as starter...but not before then.
  5. I'm talking Peterman specifically, based on his potential and QB situation specifically.
  6. Fair enough, but how many of them were considered "projects" leading up to the draft?
  7. I'm talking potential and productivity. If they were to let Lawson go it would be due to what they see him failing to develop into down the road considering where he was drafted just as was the case with Sammy Watkins and Reggie Ragland. Of course cap figures will play a part, but it's what the players show on the field that will be the quick decider on how fast they move on from a player. Peterman is relevant in that he has potential just as Lawson, despite the difference in draft round selection, but especially when considering he plays at a position that's up in the air with a rookie and a vet with limited action as his competitors. Not an ill-conceived notion at all.
  8. Yeah I know, because one was drafted in the 1st rd. and one wasn't right?
  9. I'm pretty sure he would have to wow them for them to hand over the team to him this early in his NFL development. Having the physical tools and demeanor to work on his game and get better is what led them to draft him where they did, showing the ability to lead an offense against top tier NFL defenders is what they'll need to see to give him the nod over guys who have already experienced it this early on his career. Of course its a competition, they'll give Allen every opportunity to win the starting gig, but if things play out as they typically do with rookie QB's with that learning curve, they'll continue to bringing him along patiently until they feel he's all caught up.
  10. You could say the same thing about Shaq Lawson just as you could say the same for Austin Proehl. Peterman is in the same tier as Shaq Lawson in terms of relevance, so it is unlikely and would come as a surprise if he weren't on the team come week one.
  11. Lol. Where did I quote myself? Daboll and McDermott seem to have had a plan for bringing Allen along when they drafted himand it doesn't seem as though they will deviate from it simply due to where Allen was selected. That may be what some fans want, but this new regime isn't easily moved, are disciplined, and will remain steadfast in their approach unless something truly amazing takes place. I haven't gone as far as to say they are eliminating Josh Allen from the competition but he will have to wow them by doing more than ripping passes to have them reverse course and ditch their plan to bring him along slowly in order to give him the time necessary to work on the fundamentals necessary to play QB in the NFL.
  12. First day of mandatory minicamp. More and more it's looking and sounding like a two-man battle between McCarron and Peterman as I suggested with Allen being brought along slowly. Still there?
  13. Improving arm strength is one of those things that I think of as optional for NFL QB's and some don't even think it's attainable, you're either born with it or you're born without it being the thinking. It's awesome that Peterman cited it as something to improve on, because it shows that he's mapped out his flaws, with that said, outside of Peterman, it's more the fans who would suggest that he needs to improve his arm strength to make a significant jump as a QB whether true or not. I doubt we'd get any reports on a stronger armed Peterman even if he made good on his efforts.
  14. from NewyorkUpstate.com On Thursday's OTA's: Peterman on fire "Nathan Peterman took the bulk of the reps with the first-team offense on Thursday and thrived in doing so. He completed 17 of his 21 passes during team drills and looked particularly impressive during the two-minute drill portion of practice. Three of his completions went to Brandon Reilly on Thursday and another three went to Jeremy Kerley. Peterman seemed to be much more decisive with the football than we've seen him in the past".
  15. Is Shaw6ix6ix cool?
  16. When an outsider tries to speak as a diehard: "The defense has lots of holes...".
  17. There is nothing asinine about this thread. You feeling Josh Allen should start ASAP doesn't cancel out any idea that contradicts that or make it asinine. There will be hysteria in here if Peterman jumps ahead in the pecking order because there seems to be very little appreciation for slow and steady progress. There's a want for missiles being thrown all over the field. There's always the want for immediate gratification, always the want for what's considered "sexy". FTR, I'm in support of Josh Allen, I just don't think he'll be starter week one barring something calamitous.
  18. If Flacco looks like the Flacco of last year then stopping their passing game shouldn't be a difficult task at all. Don't know if Flacco was the problem or the OC, but that passing game was garbazh.
  19. According to this guy: Josh Allen (Third team) 12 of 18 "...mixed results". 1st two-min. drill; threw INT to Breon Borders. 2nd two-min. drill; led team for TD (scoring TD going to Robert Foster). _______________________________ AJ McCarron --- (First team) 15 of 19 "...nice first down throws". No TDs. Led drive that ended with a would-be FG attempt. _______________________________ Nathan Peterman (Second team) 13 of 15 "...pretty good day". Threw a TD early on to Brandon Reilly during redzone drills. Led Bills into redzone, ending on what would have been a FG attempt. The media reporting, day of the OTAs has been so unbalanced; seems like there's been an effort to trivialize the positive contributions of the less heralded QB's. Good for Peterman.
  20. Nope...I learned yesterday that disregarding context is very much encouraged in here. That is my offering. It really is too bad that the Ravens messed around and traded up for Flacco's replacement, because then you would've been right.
  21. Nonsense...five is the universally recognized unlucky number that spells certain career doom for NFL quarterbacks who throw INTs. Only a matter of time before NFL Films begins releasing a slew of slashers titled Friday the 5th, starring Nathan Peterman as maniac career killer, Nathan Voorhees.
  22. I just made your bold statement bolder. The Ravens expended draft picks trading up to grab Lamar Jackson.
  23. What on earth are you talking about??? Since the "agenda" has been made crystal clear, please explain to me what that agenda is, because I don't know what you are talking about. I never predicted that the Bills would draft Peterman, I suggested that the Bills should draft him and they ended up doing it. The McDermott hire was more so a prediction, because I narrowed the hires down to two choices, one being McDermott and then it happened. Agenda?
  24. Oh...just wait until Allen has his first multi-interception game, with no TDs, in a losing effort. The same using Allen's upside to throw shade at Peterman and this thread will be the same ones professing that the FO got the draft wrong with the first pick.
  25. Trent Edwards' rap alter ego.
