Offers nothing in the pass rush game...frees up the linebackers to make easy tackles.

Where Did That Pass Rush Come From?!
BurpleBull replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned before Sunday's game in the 'Shaq Lawson' to a poster who suggested that Harrison Phillips was making no more of an impact than Lawson, that Phillips offers the Bills' an actual 4-man rush when he steps in for Star Lotulelei; the coaches scaled back Star Lotulelei's involvement, especially, in the pass rush. I worried that the coaches would try to force-feed us Lotulelei because of his contract, instead of addressing his obvious weakness as a pass rusher. Reducing Lotulelei's snap count says a lot about this new regime: shows that they are about winning and are willing to cut bait with whatever that isn't working. Trent Murphy, believe it or not, showed flashes in place of Shaq Lawson, as a pass rushing difference maker in Week 1 against Baltimore, but too many people were too busy clowning him and saying he didn't show up due to his preseason-long injury situation that limited his presence. Lorenzo Alexander's rushing of the passer from the DT position from week 2 carried over and again proved effective. They brought pressure with Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano. Pretty much through everything that they could at Kirk Cousins by way of the front seven. Another player that I think has made a subtle difference, that may begin to get some shine, is Robert Thomas. He's pretty quick and demands attention from a second blocker from time to time. The front seven played with intensity from start to finish, but I think the move away from Star Lotulelei was a huge deal. No injuries and keep bringing it! -

Is shaq lawson a bust?

When Harrison Phillips is in you see the potential for an actual 4-man rush, versus the 3-man rush the Bills' D-line is relegated to with Star Lotulelei in the lineup. -
What would make you feel good about this game today at 4:00pm

"Pegulas and Beane Discussing Shady Contract Extension" would be an even better, less confusing thread title. I'm only talkin' 'bout McCoy! -

Bills' Twitter Doesn't Know Where Minnesota Is

Things getting worse by the minute. Tomorrow Leslie Frazier crosses back over as Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator during the halftime performance. The laughs get louder... -
You're right, my "Peterman to Meet With Kim Jong-un" thread on the Politics, Polls, and Pundits board is pretty outlandish. But my mention here, in a QB related thread...now that just takes the cake.

"In no real order" still means, in no real order. Without an identity you're pretty much doing whatever from one week to the next. Players might not know what exactly it is that they're trying to accomplish, outside of the obvious 'trying to win games' because nothing's been established...no philosophy, no identity. The QB situation actually did crack the list. It's the last point concerning the Bills' possibly already conceding to the idea of not making the playoffs. That's based on the super-early switch at QB. Way too early to say that the Bills don't have a QB in Allen, if that's what you're implying, considering he played well as a rookie making his first start.
-
In no real order...but here is what I hold to be contributors to the Bills' issues. 1.Play designs or playcalls. 2.Offensive line...decent to good minus Groy. 3.No clear No. 1 WR. 4.Star Lotulelei/lack of pass rush and pass rush depth. 5.Cornerback opposite side of White. 6.Tremaine Edmunds' inexperience. 7.Lack of defensive creativity. 8. Okay special teams play. 9. Zero identity. 10.Seemingly conceding to the idea of not making the playoffs this season.

Vlad Ducasse...NFLs best pass blocker?
BurpleBull replied to CDogg20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What do you mean by "new" Mills' fans? Not every fan trashes its players straightaway or has a hard time seeing what they offer simply because they aren't elite-level talent. Mills held up pretty well against Terrell Suggs, so who can say? How would you rank the starting linemen? I'm going 1. Mills 1a. Dawkins 2. Miller 3. Ducasse 9. Groy -
Vlad Ducasse...NFLs best pass blocker?
BurpleBull replied to CDogg20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That surprises me only because I expected Dawkins to display significant growth from his rookie season, which he hasn't thus far, but outside of that it doesn't surprise me. I think it was with 3rd and 12 that I was having a discussion with during the offseason concerning Jordan Mills. I was saying how Mills was solid, underrated, not nearly as bad as many fans hold him to be. Many of the opinions formed on Mills seem to be due to lazy analysis based on seasons past. -

You won't acknowledge Mills' value until media tells you it's okay to...but that's okay. -

Jordan Mills is still the most underrated Bills' linemen. -

Next time try using Fitz's government name, middle name included. It may help in throwing off the faulty RTDS (Repeat Thread Detection System). Also use your exclamations with caution. The Aggressive Language Detection System may issue you a posts restriction with or without warning.

Allen outperformed him this week so I can't claim that. The team could have suffered to keep Peterman in as starter if its goal was to have Allen sit and learn versus getting him actual game reps. I don't believe Peterman has a wretched repeat performance in Week 2 if he starts. He just has to wait his opportunity to get a shot to prove that he's better than what he showed Week 1. He will, if given the opportunity.
