10 receptions last season is a dead giveaway to anybody that Roberts isn't much of a receiving threat. He's a return man, it's well known. Duke Williams has a shot obviously, but have you heard anything on Williams through OTAs, that leads you to believe that his dominant, play in the CFL has carried over?
-
I edited the line about Roberts and changed returner to receiver by mistake, but I mention him because he counts toward the average size. He made the Pro Bowl as a returner and he's likely sticking around because of it. I don't believe you even recalled that Roberts was an addition to the roster, if you forgot about John Brown. I'm just curious as to who you feel has the best chance at making the opening day roster between Williams and Sills.
-
They're both 6'3, but I get your point. Williams has a chance if he looks impressive and I could easily see Sills being sent to the practice squad to continue his development; I'm not sure either is a lock to be on the opening day roster though. Of the smaller players, only Victor Bolden Jr. strikes me as being in jeopardy of missing out on a roster spot as things stand. Roberts made the Pro Bowl as a receiver last season, Ray-Ray McCloud seems to be coming on based on OTAs, Isaiah McKenzie was productive last season and is arguably the Bills' most explosive receiver, and then you have Cole Beasley and John Brown. I feel like Daboll wants to incorporate more gadget plays into the offense and may have more regard for the smaller, quick receiver, than you may think.

Who is your roster “dark horse”?
BurpleBull replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike Love. He can do what Shaq Lawson can do versus the run and I think he has more pass rush potential; I could see Shaq Lawson being part of a trade. Love was one of my picks to survive roster cuts in 'GunnerBill's Roster Thread' for 2018...I choose him as a "long shot", only because he's likely an afterthought to most fans. -
At one point the Bills' WRs average height was 5'11.

I think Dawkins could easily be very good at LG, but I also feel like the O-line wouldn't be getting the best overall value playing him so close to Williams with the right side lacking in talent in comparison to the left, and the inexperience of Cody Ford; I'd like the talent to be dispersed along the O-line, to start things off in this scenario. Nsekhe is great depth, but he's not bringing what Dawkins brings as an overall blocker and Spencer Long was pretty good at LG for the Jets; I watched Long in his blocking assignment versus Kyle Williams and he did a pretty good job, and by 'pretty good job', I don't mean 'decent'. He seems to hold up well at the point of attack. I don't believe my eyes were deceived, because I listened to a Jets' fan speak on Long's departure, to gauge his value in the fans' eyes, and he pretty much stated that the Jets' O-line production improved when he was moved from the center position---where he struggled---to left guard.

This is where I'm at, exactly.

Obviously. To enter the conversation of league's best, you'd have to at the very least, work your way into that top tier of CB's first; I don't think Tre'D' is in that group just yet.
-
Nice way to merge two separate ideas, for the sake of venting about being wrong on Peterman starting the 2018 season. You seem to have gotten it all out of your system, good for you. Lol
-
He did. I like Tre'D' a lot, think he's very good, and feel like he could be on the cusp of becoming one of the elites; I just think he's off by a little currently, based on his sophomore season. I think next season could be the year where he's emerges as an undoubted, premier corner.
-
Poor assumption considering it's your infatuation with Kay Adams, that led to her assessment of Tre'D'---which is founded on a Week 6 performance---being a topic of discussion. Even Tre'D' knows that there's more that he has to show, if he's to be considered the 'league's best'.
-
That'll happen when you only watch a quarter of the season, and cling to Kay Adams' breakdown of the parts you missed.
-
No it isn't. Lol!
-
Revis was well-established and made the Pro Bowl in each of those seasons.
-
IJS, Tre'D' needs to rectify that if he gets his chance again because it was a shockingly, horrible game. He just couldn't stop the bleeding. There was also the game against the Jets, where he defended Robby Anderson and gave up the big gain late that allowed the go-ahead TD, in the Jets/Darnold comeback win. He has to take his game to a higher level, otherwise he will continue to be thought of as being a Tier 2 CB.
-
I don't see the connection.
-
Kenny Golloday says otherwise. Tre 'D' gotta get Golloday back before he can be mentioned as being the best.

Damn. I thought Kroft would prove to be the most important acquisition at receiver. Hopefully Knox can step in right away.
