I agree with this but could we be one year away to risk the draft on one player? I think we need a little more talent before that big risk. I think FA QB and stock the roster this year with all those picks and go franchise rookie next. Unless something crazy falls in place.

This is the most negative post I have read in my life. Cheer up brah. The future hasn't been this bright in 2 decades.

It is not splitting hairs. It is a huge difference. Any coach kicks a FG there in a scoreless game. Stop arguing otherwise. Points were at a premium and you take the 3. Someone please end this thread. It's ridiculous.

We certainly would have played at home today with Smith and maybe beat NE at home in the regular season. This is a very good football team with Alex Smith at QB. He would be my vote with NP as the backup for 2018. Use the draft this year to sure up the lines and the LB position. The only caveat is if a QB they love falls to 21 for some crazy reason.

2nd rounder for anyone not named McDermott. 3rd rounder if it is.

It was clearly the right call.

This has nothing to do with Tyrods weopons. I don't know why the conversation always turns to his weopons or his coaches. It's about his talent and his abilities. He's not good enough and it doesn't matter who is playing WR.

If you think Tyrod Taylor can take the Bills deep into the playoffs, I recommend turning the channel to Fox and watch the QB play in the game currently airing on that channel. It will not take you long to realize that TT (or Bortles) for that matter can not and will never be able to do it. Anyone that thinks anything different has lost their minds. Keeping Taylor is the only thing that McD and Beane can do at this point that would make me question their abilities. No way they do it.

The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...
Bills Pimpin' replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was not immediately after the game. It was a week and a half later after the Chiefs game that Tyrod won. Do yourself a favor and don't talk **** you don't know about. Do some research. And I also listened this week and it was a typical pathetic take on the Bills by a national media douchebag. I'm sure you agreed with every word. You are so right, the Chargers game was a Peterman START in the Taylor ERA. It morphed into a TT discussion because the Tyrod maniacs are so disgusted that McD could possibly bench their wonderful QB so the pitchforks came out. Even if said benching could have possibly fired up the QB to lead the team to the playoffs over the past 6 weeks. -

The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...

You are not too bright. #1. I said I am not sure McD knew all of the good that would come of the decision to start the rookie, it just happened that way. IF he played some of it out in his mind then it is next level. It is not ridiculous at all to think McD thought it was a better idea to start the kid early so it wasn't too late to make up for it if it went badly which obviously it did. #2. I never said he lost the team on purpose or on accident. You just made that up for some unknown reason. Rallying around a player does not mean a team was lost. That cliche is a joke and I never said. #3. It makes no difference why NP had to play 3 weeks later and I never said McD wanted to play him. The fact of the matter is that he did play, he played well and the Bills won the game. This says a lot about the kid and he got rave reviews from all the coaches and the players including Tyrod. #3. Bringing up the punt in the snow game is ridiculous. The bills won the game. It makes no sense to bring up a decision that led to a Bills win if you want to discredit the coach more. SMH. #4. Yes, he was a good coach in May. Maybe not showing it to the folks at TBD, but yes he was coaching I'm sure. Do you think he wasn't working in May??? FFS. Don't be so simple minded. Think outside the box some. That's what successful people do. That's what McD does. He doesn't just sit around and hope things get better. He makes what seem to be crazy decisions that have so worked out and put the Bills in the playoffs. You believe the bills got in the playoffs in spite of the decisions. That's a bad look. You should probably wait and go off on the man and the decisions when those decisions lead to like 4-12, you would come off as a much smarter person. -

I'm not sure if McD knew all of the positives that would come out of the decision to bench Taylor for that game, but if he did that is next level coaching. Team came together, and from what I understand, rallied around Taylor AGAINST the coach and his decision making them a more cohesive bunch. Not to mention what he learned about his rookie 2 weeks after playing that dreadful half of football when he shook it off and played very good in that blizzard. The dude can flat out coach and has shown it for 8 months. -
The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...
Bills Pimpin' replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every decision McD has made this year has had an impact on the Bills making the playoffs including the decision to bench Tyrod for the Chargers game. I am assuming there had to be some discussions and disagreements among the coaches during the weeks surrounding that game. If McD decides to wait and not start Peterman in LA and the Bills lose with Tyrod, which seems to be very close to an absolute certainty, then Tyrod is not the unquestionable starter for the rest of the year. Peterman might start in KC, where they would most likely lose and the season is lost. Maybe Tyrod starts again in KC and plays terribly and the Bills lose and the season is lost. Regardless Peterman was starting a game in 2017 and the way it played out it couldn't have worked out better for the team. Now either McD is some kind of genius and played some of this out in his mind when he made the decision, or he is simply very lucky. But the fact is the Bills are 4-2 since that game with the only losses to those cocksuckers in New England and Tyrod has played fairly well. It turned out to be a the perfect time to make a risky call and now we get to watch a Bills football game in January, and I think Tyrod has his best game ever. -
I agree with this. As conservative as it seems McD is, I can't see him reaching for one of the QB's coming out. If one drops he likes, I definitely think he takes him but I don't think he trades up. Just doesn't seem like it is his style. And from what I have heard, (this is from a family member who lives in Buffalo who knows a higher up that works at OBD, so it's not really a "source") McD is most disappointed in how he handled the QB position and he is not sure there is a person on the current staff that can handle it. He said the hiring of a true QB coach before the draft would be a determining factor of whether he would even consider the possibility of trading up for one. I have no idea if that's true, but it sounds plausable. Maybe this is a knock on Dennison, maybe not. TBH, I think there is a better chance he trades up for #3 from UGA. That's a difference making position that he knows he can coach up.

Thank You Buffalo Bills!

Nice thread. And I agree completely. There is just a different feel about a must-win game that matters after Christmas. If that's not a step in the right direction then I don't know what is. Go bills. -
Watkins and Woods would have been better with Tyrod
Bills Pimpin' replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watkins and Woods would be terrible this year with Tyrod and would have cost them millions of dollars each if they stayed in Buffalo this year. Good for them for having a fantastic coach and a real QB talent to give them the opportunity to be successful. It's certainly a combination of an up and coming coach and a QB that will continue to improve their NFL status. -

In a few weeks you can ask "If it's all the WR's fault, why did Taylor get fired?" -

Trying to evaluate any wide receiver when Tyrod Taylor is the quarterback is a terrible idea. Even more so when it is a rookie. I actually feel bad for the kid because he has lost a year of his career and will basically be starting over next year with a real QB. If he is going to have trouble doing anything, it is going to be adjusting to a true NFL QB who can read a defense and can make the throws any NFL QB should be able to make. I hope he can overcome the damage Tyrod has done. -
Yep, the rookie QB should only get 1/2 of a football game to prove himself... But then again, maybe he should get another chance in a historic blizzard game, where he played well, had his team up by a TD in the 3rd quarter before getting hurt. I don't think the book has been written on Peterman, it certanly has on Taylor.
