IMO you can't ever use the word luck when analyzing QB play. Sure you can argue the talents of Siemian and his performance. You can certainly say his picks were simply bad plays by him and give no credit to the Bills defense. You can completely ignore the fact that in many football games a great defense forces even great QB's into bad decisions late in games due to desperation and fatigue. You can downplay the ball skills of the Bills DB's. You can imply that the scheme put in by the DC, who is a former head coach, had nothing to do with the picks. But you can not call it luck. Luck is flipping a coin. Luck is playing the lottery. The outcome of this game and the picks that secured it is plain and simply not luck.

You must not watch much NFL football. 1. Teams win every week by playing good defense and forcing the opposition into bad decisions and turnovers. 2. WR's are getting better and I could argue it was a great play by Holmes for paying attention and not giving up on the play on the deflection. 3. Tyrod Taylor had a 126 QB rating against the Broncos defense in 3 years. The next best is 111 by Drew Brees. 4. The Bills have a kicker that can make 50 yarders with ease and he made 3. Every great team has one. 5. The Bills won without a dominant run game for the first time in I don't know when. This is a positive. The run game will be fine against many teams, the passing game is improving. 6. Special teams were close to flawless. ST penalties are coming down every week as they are getting more disciplined. (Also see #4) 7. Coaching was solid all game including a fantastic successful challenge. Also team is playing together like I haven't seen, well, ever from a Buffalo Bills team. That is all coaching. All of the above proves the Bills played a great game. I'm not sure how there can be any argument against it. And if you try you will look foolish.

I'm not sure Denver is the third best team. I think the Raiders will have a tough time winning in Denver and their defense is crap. And No way Siemian handed us that game. The defense took it and Tyrod played great.

Denver was undefeated, just trounced the Cowboys, everyone was sucking off their QB and saying they had the best defense in the league. After the Bills beat them they aren't a tough team and probably won't make the playoffs? But of course if they beat the Bills they would still be undefeated, leading the division, a lock for the playoffs and one of the best teams in the AFC with an incredible rookie HC. Very few people thought the Bills would even compete this week and they handled them with relative ease and people downplay it. Crazy. Also, the Bills were a 3 point dog at home which every knows if they played at Denver they would have been 7 point dogs, about the same as they are to the Falcons. Denver is a good team and it was a great win, regardless what happens next week.

McCoy off the field on 3rd downs
Bills Pimpin' replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCoy busted his ass for this football team today. It was tough tough sledding out there on every down. -
Marrone and Mularkey

It prolly is, I need to let it go for sure. At least he got a fancy new job selling software or some **** like that. -

You are not suited to be a GM if you can't put a coherent sentence together or if you can't give an interview without contradicting yourself or throwing a co-worker under the bus. -
Marrone and Mularkey

By all accounts Whaley and Marrone didn't get along and he was involved with the Ryan hire. Plus Hue Jackson is terrible. -
And to think most talking heads wanted the Bills to take Lattimore from OSU at 11 in the draft and instead they traded down got an extra 1st and then got Tre at 27. Amazing. Gives me a lot of hope for the upcoming draft.

Marrone and Mularkey

Its looking more and more like a Whaley problem over the past 5-6 years. I believe it will become more evident as the year goes on... -
So... Isn't Cordy and Marcel...
Bills Pimpin' replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the reason McD and Beane are flushing the roster if financially possible. It was a losing culture built by a moronic GM. I remember an interview Whaley gave once when he said something to the effect "You need 7 elite players and a supporting cast". Darius was one of those elites and was treated like one for too many years. He will be gone as soon as possible. His type is the McD kryptonite. Sammy had a bit of this in him too. It's kinda like that that girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Veruca Salt. People suck you off for long enough, you get that big head, lose touch with reality and think you are bigger than the team. I blame Whaley for all this ****. I dont know the man, but to me it seems like Cordy just doesn't like to play the game. He`s got terrible body language and an "I don't give a ****" demeanor about him. I don't think McD likes that either. I believe he's gone too. Especially if Dion plays well. -
OK.

Sorry... Implying, Mentioning or Infering the coaching staff being fired after a good performance by a traded wide receiver is ridiculously stupid. We will just leave it at that.
-
Wow... you turned a good performance by a traded wide receiver against an 0-3 bottom 5 football team into a coaching staff getting fired in one paragraph. Ridiculously stupid, but very well done.
-
This thread went about how I figured. Kneejerk reactions from Couch GM's after three games. The decision to trade Sammy will take years to fully evaluate. Just like the decision to use two #1 picks to pick Sammy took 4 years to realize it was a very poor decision. After this year everyone can start to have a cordial (hopefully) conversation about how this first big decision McD and Beane made is playing out.

I think I'd rather have Hoyer than Sammy... lol
-
IMO Woods is not a better player than those on the field. Watkins is. Tyrod needs to be better with the guys on his team. The coach is giving him every opportunity to do so. He has a few weeks left.
-
Thats not a good look for Tyrod....
-
Looks like a writer at MMQB have been trolling TBD since he is joining the chorus of how good Sammy is gonna be. It's coming. It's always coming. Thursday night they say. But if not Thursday, next Sunday for sure. Just as soon as the generational talent Is "worked into the Rams system". I thought for sure he was so talented he could run any route and never be covered regardless of the system... I guess he's not THAT good. But I am very excited for all of the Watkins fanboys for the week he actually does something, maybe 115 yards and a touch. And when that happens I'm sure he will be one step from the HOF.

I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. I'm just saying the Jets are not good enough to start using the Bills running stats against them to prognosticate a pound the rock offense with inept QBing and this defense leading the team to the playoffs. Especially after witnessing the Panthers completely shutting the rush down.
-
Yes I was. And I still think he should start Sunday. What does that have to do with anything?
-
First off, I said almost. Secondly, if you are going to rest on the laurels of a win over the Jets in the home opener you have very low expectations.
-
I'll tell you another thing that is pissing me off about Tyrod... Quit saying "we will learn from this" and "we will keep working to get better" in every press conference. You ain't a coach brah and no one gives a **** about your work ethic at this point. Stop sucking every other game you play. Stop placing blame on the entire offense and take the blame yourself. You are the quarterback of a team that scored 3 points in a professional football game.
-
Almost EVERY team can stop the run if the threat of a passing game is nonexistent.

Zay Jones drops huge catch. <radio edit>
Bills Pimpin' replied to r00tabaga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure there is, they are consoling him because he didn't make a great catch to win the game. They are probably consoling Tyrod as well on his poorly thrown ball. I'm sure Zay feels like he should have made the catch and feels bad about it. He's a rook. It's great they are rallying behind him.
