Next man up is not good enough
Bills Pimpin' replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure I agree about the lack of depth. Every Team in the NFL lacks depth. There are only 46 players active on game day. How many teams have a quality backup at every position? In fact, I believe this is why McD constantly preaches versatility. I think Oleary was a great backup. The team handled the dareus injury and the Glenn injury admirably. Worthy was out for a month and they still had the #1 D. Milano played OK with Humbar out and the bills only have up 20 without him and EJ. We roll out 7 players on the Dline constantly with solid play almost every down so there must be depth there. The WR position and the QB position is where there is no depth. In fact with Matthews out there is a solid argument there isn't a bonafide starter amongst both groups. If somehow they fix the WR slot with improvement from current players or a newcomer, they might be able to deal with the QB for a playoff run. -
Woods and Gilli would be great in this offense. AsHogan, Watkins and Goodwin need a Brady/Rodgers to be great. Which brings me to my greatest nightmare....Belichek gets Watkins on the cheap and Brady-Garrapolo/Watkins/Hogan/Gilli torture us for 5 more years.

SAL M: Bills WRs have no business being starters.
Bills Pimpin' replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I lean towards this. The receivers may not good enough to make elite catches time and again but they can effing catch or they wouldn't be in the NFL. And I swear TT rarely makes it easy on them. The WR`s are always reaching up, reaching down, diving, slowing down. He just can't throw it perfect...ever. So there is always a doubt in his mind and he simply can't pull the trigger. Its painful to watch. I must have screamed "Throw the mother !@#$er!" 15 times at the TV today. -
Your takes are awful. Bills are 3-2 with all of the wins against division leading teams. One loss is against the NFC leading team by 3 points. The other against a very solid team on the second of a back to back road game without their 2 best receiving targets. Maybe you think the Bills should be 5-0 but that is as outrageously ignorant as this post. You need to look around the league brah, settle down and see how this plays out.

I agree with all of this but I can't help to think this game is won with just slightly above average QB play. 1 or 2 good plays was all that was needed.

I have to say, I think much of this loss is on Tyrod. Missing semi-open receivers on 6-7 yard pass plays for incompletions can't happen in this offense. It's absolutely necessary for moving the sticks. It seems to happen once every drive of more than 6-7 plays. It also seems demoralizing to the players. His accuracy is so poor some games it is tough to overcome.

Watkins admits he was selfish, upset after wins.
Bills Pimpin' replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not ahead of myself at all. Sure it's optimistic, but not blind. Tell me one move they have made that doesn't look fantastic other than Zay Jones who gets open, but is arguably in his own head with catching the ball. I think the optimism is warranted. What makes you think otherwise? Not sure what this means. You disagree? -

It's a ways away, but if The Bils make the playoffs this year and have all of those draft picks in 2018, those boys pulling the trigger will be dubbed geniuses. The Darby and Watkins trades could go down as monumental for the Bills for the next decade. The most diehard Sammy fan can't deny that. Any fan who isn't excited about the next 10 years is being negative just to be negative. -

Could be true. Every team is different and every coaching style is different. All of the folks that hate the Sammy trade based on talent let go and talent/picks received are right on. I would guess that McD and Beane in a talent vacuum would agree with those people. But all you have to do is listen to any McD press conference where he talks about team and loving each other and building a culture basically every sentence to realize why Sammy was traded, especially after hearing these comments from the player. -

I'm not sure you should be comparing Sammy Watkins to Andre Reed, the hall of famer. But if you do you also have to realize that this team and head coach is in its infantile stages that can't handle the diva personality of a Watkins or a Gilmore for that matter. It is becoming more and more evident that the player was traded for locker room behavior and not for talent. Maybe the culture and locker room will be strong enough next year or the year after that to sign a player with Sammy's talents and not so great personality traits that many elite players come with. -
I've been waiting all week for this... start munching brah. Eat that crow and post it. Be a man.

I'm starting to feel bad for that kid. -
Too bad. The Rams need one. They had a good one, but they traded him. Along with a 2nd round pick.

Yep and the Rams gave up a 39 burger to San Fran.

We have #1 ranked Defense!!! [confirmed!]

If watching his teammates dominate on the field while he is sitting on the sidelines doesn't motivate him then I don't think anything will. -
You are not too bright bro. Every team we beat makes them less likely to be a playoff team, and if we beat the majority of them we could be a playoff team themselves. Also, Its not all about making the playoffs or winning the Superbowl. The Bills get 8 home games a year, only 8 weeks out of 52. They have already played 25% of them and they won both. That means fans go home happy. Many of them are happy all week because their team won at home. It's a big effing deal when they win at home. And to have a "fan" like yourself **** on that win and degrade others who are excited about it, and the hope of further success sucks. It's very, very sad.

It doesn't matter if the Bills win or not. If Ryan throws 2 picks it's because he had a bad game. If Shady has 120 yards it's because Atlanta's run defense sucks. If they win 12-7 their offense still sucks. If Atlanta misses a game winning field goal then it doesn't count as a good win. You will find something to defend your negative prognosis. If they lose you can say you were right. And they are 8 point dogs so you can crow next Monday. It's really pathetic.
