  1. Agreed. We need to cover him the way other teams cover Evans -- because like Evans, he's the 90% favorite to get the ball in passing situations.
  2. 3rd and 10. Why? Why can't we run?
  3. Yeah. We line them up in the backfield.
  4. All right. Establish the run, and let's have a nice, long, punishing drive. Or not.
  5. Uh-oh. One can only imagine the melodramatic phone call from the locker room to Jerry Jones's box: TO: Jerry?? JJ: Yes, Terrell? TO: Mr. Parcells is being mean to me again!! <sob>
  6. Quoted for truth. The Bills should beat Detroit in 7 or 8 out of any 10 games. As long as they can get their heads screwed on straight, and make the appropriate adjustments, we can and should winn this game.
  7. Bobby April for President, or Head Coach, or something. Special Teams is all that's keeping us alive here -- between Moorman pinning the Lions, McGee's big return, and Lindell's clutch kick, they've been pretty impressive in an otherwise atrocious performance.
  8. I can't get too down on the D, as they did look good in the previous three drives, and in light of the fact that time-of-possession is about 2:1 in Detroit's favor.
  9. McGee! Way to give us a shot to regain a little momentum.
  10. And if he does have Memento-style amnesia, why doesn't he hire a tattoo artist to ink "RUN THE DAMN BALL" on his hands?
  11. Martz is a friggin idiot. Keep trying to pass, guy.
  12. It feels good to run into the occasional team that's even less mentally prepped than we are.
  13. Need to get some more stunts going . . . there's no reason that we can't overload this papier-mache line.
  14. The bils are better than the Lions - I think they were lacking confidence after the Chicago debacle, and that translated into tentative, sloppy play. Hopefully the big TD will allow them to start believing in themselves and to start playing heady ball.
  15. Heh. At least RJ didn't throw that many picks, and had a decent completion percentage. This is more reminiscent of Todd Collins.
  16. Well, the Willis-bashers might get to see just what A-Train can do . . .
  17. Somehow I doubt that many of the NYT-bashers here dislike the paper for the reasons set forth in Manufacturing Consent.
  18. Quoted for truth. I think that the blame can be apportioned in equal parts to the Red Sox chowds (have fun watching Minnesota and Detroit this fall, guys!) and the Raider subhumans, both of whom are reprehensible in their own special way.
  19. You have to learn to walk before you can run -- quite literally. JP may well be capable of making plays happen with his feet, just as he may be capable of throwing for 300 yards, 3 TDs and no INTs. But Fairchild and Jauron are bringing him along slowly -- they clearly want him to become comfortable and confident running the offense before they ask him to be a playmaker. And so far, the strategy has borne fruit, with no turnovers in two games on the road against tough division opponents. I'm certain that we'll see them use JP's mobility more in the future, but for now, it's good to see him becoming a confident leader of the offense. The other stuff will come with time.
  20. Bumped, as I'm sharing in the Love.
  21. Right. Why pass a lot against the Jets if we don't have to do so? I like what Fairchild is doing here -- letting JP get comfortable in running the offense, without putting undue pressure on him to win games singlehandedly. The result, thus far, has been a JP who hasn't made mistakes -- in fact, we've seen a JP who actively avoids them. No reason to disturb the steady progression now. That said, I doe expect that JP is going to get a few more chances at home against an inferior opponent. A 200+ yard game isn't out of the question. Then again, I assume that Willis is easily going to gain more than 100 yards.
