Fully cover the sideline seats, leave the end zones open, and you've probably got a winner that meets the most expectations.
-
There's more diversity to the anti-dome contingent than you're recognizing. To be sure, there are folks who like things just as they are, with 90% of the fans exposed to the full elements. But there's a decent number of folks who opposed a full dome due to cost concerns who still wanted seat coverage. Moreover, there are "domers" who were convinced that a full dome wouldn't be necessary by the team's hints about covering the seats. IOW, there's a substantial number of fans who wanted/expected coverage. How many? I don't know. The team probably has a pretty good idea, tho, from the surveys - and I imagine that the final decision on the percentage of seats covered will be somewhat determined by the marketing data. If they think they can sell the place out at significantly increased prices without covering seats, they will.
-
Not at all. There has been substantial speculation, and some implication from the team and its partners, that we would bee looking at an open-air stadium with a canopy over most, if not all, seats - not unlike old Texas Stadium or a host of soccer stadiums. Still hope that's the case, but agreed with the poster who's beginning to doubt it.

While the NFL Doesn't want One to Enjoy - 1 the games 4 on your phone 1 without paying, 0 and WGR follows - orders to not stream, - There are unusual, new-to-most establishments Ignoring the NFL. -
Step right up. Don't be afraid! Go on record right here!

Hoping for 2-14 or thereabouts, but 6-10 is probably where they end up. The Jets are going to be two unavoidable wins, and the defensive core is strong enough that an extra four wins seem likely. -
Watkins: injured or just trying to leave the Bills?

Overdrafting Chad Kelly would be a next-level Bills move. -
Watkins: injured or just trying to leave the Bills?

The best part is that the Sammy injury could well give Whaley/Rex/Roman the excuse they need to BS Terry and Kim into another year after going 3-13 or 5-11. Yay! -
Not going to stan for Tyrod, but I'm pretty sure that Roman would micromanage and put the handcuffs on Carr, Bortles, or any other non-proven QB. It's who he is.

The inability to grasp the proper use of the replay challenge system, like the well-demonstrated inability to manage the game clock, speaks volumes about the general inadequacy of Rex and his staff. In a league which is designed, through the salary cap and the draft, to tend toward personnel parity, it's essential to maximize non-personnel-related opportunities. Those are the margins on which most games are won and lost. By and large, Rex and his staff have failed in this regard. While initial game plans on offense and defense have generally seemed sound, any advantages that the Bills have won through early game tactics have dissipated later on; there's no arguing that they routinely find themselves outmanoeuvred by opposing coaches' in-game's adjustments. And the below-average performance in clock management and taking advantage of replay further compounds the problem. In short, we're usually outcoached in most aspects of gameday management. And while I think that the player personnel is pretty good - probably above-average - it's not so superlative as to overcome Rex's staff's inability to win along the margins. The worst part is that Rex has been doing this long enough that there's no reason to believe that he's going to learn and evolve. He is what he is. And I sincerely doubt that what he is can lead a team to a Super Bowl in today's game, or even to sustained winning seasons. The REAL worst part is there's no way the Pegulas move on from him until the end of next season, at the earliest.

Bills radio (Mike Schopp is awful)

Funny - I was just wondering this morning whether the roof guy writes his own loopy copy. I imagine that he does. Went to school with a Thomann. Not sure if that's why I like their ads, but I do. My initial reaction to the VW of OP ads was strongly negative, but they're grown on me to the point where I genuinely enjoy the jingle. I think I've got GR Stockholm Syndrome. -
OSU's Cardale Jones considering NFL jump

I'd like to see him come out, if only to increase the chance that Garrett Grayson is there when we draft in the 2nd. -
NEW HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan! It's Official!
Maguire's Beer replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Short term, this might not work as well as promoting Schwartz, or hiring Jackson or Bevell and retaining Schwartz. But it's not a move for the short term. The Pegula family clearly is looking at the next ten years, and picked the best coach for the long run. Package Deal? (Mike & Kyle Shanahan)
Maguire's Beer replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not crazy about Mike Shanahan as HC, for the reasons already stated by so many on this thread. As for Kyle - he did work some magic with RGIII in DC, and did a reasonable job in Cleveland this year. But even if I loved both the Shanahii, I'd be against this idea. Why would anyone EVER hire a father and son team as GM/HC or HC/Coordinator? Why would you put yourself in a position where you have one decision-maker who will not fire his subordinate under any circumstances? You wouldn't, and you shouldn't. It's a terrible position in which to put your organization. If you want a Shanahan, hire Kyle - but don't put Mike in a position where to get rid of Kyle, you have to blow up the whole team. -

[please fix subject]Tim Graham

For my money, TG is a good reporter (he owned the sale-of-the-team beat) who chose to leave ESPN for the Buffalo News, and who has been a huge asset during a year of transition. Does he mess around with antagonistic people on Twitter more than makes sense? Sure. But that's his way of dealing with them, and far be it from me to say he should just ignore them. YMMV -
TBD Thoughts on Coaches Yes! Eh. Or Heck NO!
Maguire's Beer replied to Lord_MacDonald's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dabo is really good at identifying qualified assistants and recruiting. I'm not sure that he, himself, is a offensive mastermind. As a Clemson fan, I respect the hell out of his strengths, but I'm not certain that he'd translate all that well to the NFL. -
Head Coach Candidate: Darrell Bevell
Maguire's Beer replied to LA Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. He can go to the Hill Cumorah pageant every night for two weeks during camp. While I'd like to see Malzahn or Briles, Bevell would be my favorite NFL coordinator candidate. He's innovative, gets the most out of his OL through his blocking schemes, and I love the idea of him and Schwartz together. He's much more appealing than Gase or Reich. -
Whaley will head coaching search
Maguire's Beer replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because they need to dispel the Sexton/Marrone-created picture of Buffalo as a chaotic sh*tshow. It's good that they've leaked to TG that Whaley's in charge, but it would be even better were someone to go on the record with a vote of confidence for the GM. -
Minority coaching interview
Maguire's Beer replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see that argument with a defensive candidate like Bowles, but Jackson's an offensive guy. Frankly, I imagine Schwartz would be less offended by him than by a relative neophyte like Reich or Gase (though I imagine Schwartz will in actuality resent them hiring anyone other than Cowher or Jim Schwartz). -
Minority coaching interview
Maguire's Beer replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd interview Jackson, and I'd consider him a real candidate. No need to go through a charade with Pepper when there's a bona fide candidate who satisfies the rule.
