Got it. Rob is a bud of mine who is a huge Bills fan, but I didn't know if he was on here. Lots of folks call him Nucci, so I figured it was worth a shot.
-
@nucci I always thought it was cats and porn, but whose counting? P.S. Are you Rob Antonucci? Hey, if this iteration thereof begets some Super Bowl teams, I'm all in!

Bills sign DT Treyvon Hester

Correct, but he is a little light in the pants, as they say, for 1-Tech. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Harrison as a good dude, hard worker, great attitude, lots of community outreach, team player, but he doesn't have 1-Tech measurables. So, yeah: too many 3's and not enough 1's. I think it was "Vanderdoes", and I think he also got released, but I may be wrong on that. Haven't checked the most current Bills official depth chart. -

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. They need other people in there, and I'm speculating that, even though someone like Hester isn't a prototypical 1-Tech, they'll throw him some snaps in camp. -

Camp body. They'll probably line him up as a 1-Tech, just to put someone there. Plus, Star shouldn't have to take all the 1-Tech reps! -

Sad, but true. Look at how far we've come, though! -
Christian Wade [Mod edited] has a groupie

Brieda is on a 1 year, prove-it deal. Wade has another "stash" year, with the IPP, and it's difficult to argue that he couldn't benefit from another season of NFL training, practice, film study, and learning. Next year we will see Wade take over the "Brieda" / speed back role; not this year. -
Between this, and his interview on One Bills Live, Groot just seems like one of the most genuinely happy and positive people around. He's always saying "Awesome" about nearly everything. Kid just seems so happy to be a Bill. I think back to Grumpy McGilmore, and his long face and dead eyes on draft night. Granted: he was going to a Bills team mired in a deep playoff drought, but in comparison, seeing Groot's positivity is a great sign. Now let's see what he can do on the field!
-
I must have read it wrong, then. Thanks for clarifying.
-
That part is true, but I had read that the IPP was extended for a 3rd year. I guess it was previously a 2-year program, and Wade had done 2 years, so this was going to be his "make or break" season, but that extension allows him to be a 91st player. I guess I'm not sure how that works if we aren't allowed 90 players, but that's a horse of a different color.
-
Three words: International Player Program. And an Addendum: Got extended so that CWade can play on it an extra year. With Beane candidly admitting that we haven't announced our UDFA signings YET because we don't know how many spots will be available, AND that he suspects it may be less than 90, you gotta think he's going to keep Wade in the IPP another year.
-
@Hapless Bills Fan If people look at Beane like he'd done something wrong after every draft, I will be elated!
-
This... This... And this times a zillion! If you're going to take instant draft grades seriously--which, bless your heart, if you do--and the draft graders give teams who did well the previous year, and consequently earned lower picks, bad grades off the bat... Well... then silly is precisely what I would label the entire endeavor! Not to mention that we don't know jack diddly squat about these players, and we won't for at least one year, if not three. Good post, @Thurman#1!
