    @hondo in seattle This is, perhaps, my favorite post of the preseason, thus far. Many of us are a bunch of dumbstruck puppy-eye-spellbound ninnies, fawning over the top of the scrapheap. So accurate.

    I would say there's a slim chance they keep Hamler, because he fills the McKenzie (backup) role. Essentially, he would be the Samuel backup. I fear you're right, though: We keep five, one or two get plucked in waivers, two starters go down in the first three weeks, then Beane is left scrambling and scrapheap-picking... That's my nightmare scenario.

    The Good: -I went for free. -Got to spend time with my Dad. -Went to Bar Bill East, afterwards, and watched the USA defeat France for the gold medal in basketball. -Beef on Weck there is still legendary. -No injuries to major players. -The weather. The Bad: -Everything else.

    @NakedSquid I have to agree with the general sentiment that nicknames are given by teammates / coaches, and we can't really toss them out there in the internet and hope they stick like strands of spaghetti; however, I WILL say that a Hellhound is one scary MFer! See below:

    The best part about this highlight reel is that in the 1:47 or so that I watched, the announcers twice... TWICE mistook Hollins for Gesicki. The second time, they even flashed a cartoon likeness of Gesicki up on the screen. Hollins gets no love, but he actually caught some tuddys.

    Yep... Blocked, yet again. Flippin' sucks. And I bet 1/4 of the people who got tix won't even end up going... They should return it to how it was: Go to Tops for one date, Safelite for another date, Dunn Tire for another... THAT put real, area humans in the seat, instead of keyboard warriors living in Guam or Uzbekistan...
