I'm not a big fan of PFF because there are some things they do not account for but here are the season-ending QB rankings. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/final-nfl-qb-rankings-by-pff-player-grades-2017

It was in the Washington vs Washington St game. The guys he was throwing around were not small either.

When you are talking 1 tech and 3 tech both of them fit. Hurst is a 3 tech only in our defense. And honestly, this is where Aldophus Washington should play ONLY. When we traded Dareus the biggest issue and part of the reason we gave up a lot of yards IMO is because we did not have a true 1 tech who could anchor inside. So we got gashed. The playoff game was a gamble. We had our linebackers selling out every play because of this. The jags had so many guys open on play action. Bortles just either missed them or had bad throws. That game could have been ugly for us if Bortles was accurate.

All-22 of Bills-Jags from Cover1

I'll just say this: I'm not saying Dennison is good or bad. I've seen TT be better than he was in this offense. Where the disconnect is I do not know. All I know is from what I see. And I see guys open at times. I see guys not open at times. I see a QB who's body language has not exuded any confidence since preseason and who has been very timid at times. That's what I see. I don't know all of the stuff going on that is playing into that. I see a coordinator who's had previous dealings with this same guy using similar formations, route concepts. Don't know if the verbiage is exact, but not sure why it would be different if it's the same coordinator?? I see a guy struggling in something that from just putting the puzzle together in my head, he already has experience with. -

I'd think the concepts that TT picked up then are the same. I'm just guessing. Some of the formations are the same (not guessing). I'd think many of the checks are the same. Also would think the verbiage is very similar. But I'm just guessing. -

From my Ravens fans perspective, it's all on Tyrod. They said when he was there with Dennison his problem wasn't exactly the same problem that we experience in Buffalo where TT is timid but it is indicative of it. His problem in Baltimore was he took off too much. He made the one read and took off. Here, he just seems very timid at times. I'm not sure what that is or why that is. I'm not into bashing TT. I've seen him do better than this season. -

Hapless Bill I get what you are saying but I'd take a slightly different take. You ask why call a trap? You call a trap because when you looked on film you noticed that it was one of the running plays that the Jags struggled with tremendously. They don't struggle with much in this department, but they do struggle with the trap. So your run game coordinator looks at that and says he Rick, here is what I seen them struggle with. Your run game coordinator trusts that his guys can run that play. That's why the play is called. It's not just Dennison at play here. -
1Zay, Thanks for the heads up on Bryan. Hadn't seen any of him at all. But found some snaps vs UK

To me this is not completely accurate. Tyrod has played in this offense before. Dennison was his QB coach in Baltimore. This is what is so infuriating about it. The Dennison hire was actually good on the surface because this was a guy your QB that you brought back had already worked with. Why TT struggled in an offense he was supposed to already familiar be with I do not know. But it is what it is at this point. -
Still going to need a 3 tech too. Kyle is old in football years. Not sure I would want to have him at full time duty.
-
Hey I like Payne a lot even though his stats don't show much but I think he's being undersold in light of guys like Vita. I'm a Payne fan.
-
Even if Williams doesn't retire I still think we'll need 2.
-
If this is Hurst from Michigan then I'd say both of them. Hurst is incredibly light for a DT. Heaviest I've seen him listed is 282lbs. The lightest I've seen him listed is 269lbs. Aaron Donald gives me some positive vibes about Hurst's size and play, but you'll need a space eater next to him IMO. Hurst at the 3 tech and Vea at the Nose/1tech.

Breaking news. Rick Dennison

Was really disgusted when he was announced. I know a lot of Ravens fans and they were like get ready to take Blood Pressure medicine. Your OL will die. -

I'd say the OL with new talent and a new coach will be on the upswing if this happens. Castillo has been one of the largest issues. But I'll wait. -
Draft Lowell Lotulelei and sign Star Lotulelei in FA.
NewEraBills replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sign Star for sure. Read today that he's testing FA rather than being committed to the Panthers. I thought for sure he'd return and they'd make him a priority. They could still franchise. Not a big Lowell guy. I'd prefer a guy like Christian Wilkins next to Star. I see Vae like a Star Plus. Vae actually is more like Ngata, who was versatile in what he could bring to your front. -
WOW. Hurts is done. Transfer time.
-
Roquan Smith is the damn best downfield and sideline to sideline linebacker in the draft PERIOD.
-
Another thing that just sold me on Michel is the pass protection. Nice block in pass pro vs Da'Ron Payne.

Pursue Carolina's Andrew Norwell in Free Agency?
NewEraBills replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Butler might be the expendable one even though he's the cheapest. Butler was drafted in the event they couldn't get a deal done with Short. They got that deal done now Butler just sitting around doing nothing. But Butler is a 3 tech like Short. We'd still need a stout 1 technique. Vita Vae come on down. BTW, one guy I don't mention in there with Wilkins and Vae is D'Ron Payne. I like game alot. Strong, immovable. BEAST!! -

I have a friend that's a Panthers fan and he indicated that the team is definitely going to do their best to resign Norwell and Star. Especially Star since Short and Butler don't play 1 Technique. Star is their 1 Technique. Honestly, great 1 Technique tackles in a 4-3 are difficult to find. I'd bank on the Panthers inking Star. Norwell, we may have a better shot at.
