  1. This is true. Eliminating one position with the exception of depth is good to do going into the draft. I hope we can also get Star here so that only one other starter is needed from the draft and after that, depth. Would also like Norwell on the OL.
  2. I'd definitely be all in. Great all around back who can do it all. You get a younger, faster, bigger body Shady actually. He's a receiver, runner. One thing I have tracked him on that I was really impressed with was his Pass Pro.
  3. I don't want to sell the farm for anyone but this morning I've finally converted. If we get any QB in this draft, I hope it is Baker Mayfield. That's ALL!!
  4. Probably right. I'd prefer Jackson over Gaines on the perimeter honestly. It's just a preference of mine. I can't get passed that presupposition. I view Gaines as a nickel back. But he has shown he can play on the perimeter. The reason why I prefer a drafted guy is that when you look at the CB position in NFL Free Agency it is equivalent to the QB position in the draft. Guys get overpaid and once the market is set it's just a nuisance.
  5. I love mocks. It's just fun to see what people think. I love debating them too. It has taken awhile for me but I'm all aboard the Baker Mayfield train. However, I wouldn't sell the farm for him. I really like him at QB because he's a QB with a linebacker mentality. HE wants to HURT defenses. Any QB with that mentality I have to be a fan of. I was resistant at first. I'm going to watch some tape today prior to East/West Shrine. Just watch some tape on Iowa CB Joshua Jackson this morning. My coffee got cold because to me this guy is special and fun to watch. Would really like him in a Bills uniform. In any case I'll do mock 1.0 after East/West.
  6. I'll be watching this guy today. He could be a mid round gem. Also, watched some tape on Iowa CB Joshua Jackson this morning. I'm a big fan. His ball skills are amazing and while others may be better athletes, I think he has the best coverage skills at the position in this class.
  7. Not a real fan. Ridley is also an older rookie. He'll be 24 this year.
  8. I wasn't. I always look at moves like that in terms of are we 1 player away. Most of the time the answer is hell no so I'd most likely never make those kind of moves because you are almost never going to be one player away. Now if a guy falls within range that I like I wouldn't mind pulling the trigger on him. But if I'm looking at a roster that has the holes that ours will, these are not the moves that I like.
  9. I haven't found a data source that would support those numbers. Not even close to those numbers. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/buffalo-bills/ Now, of course, there are some other contracts that might be coming off the books.
  10. If we are selling the farm then not really. And Beane has already hinted that the team, while it will be active in FA, don't expect a grand accumulation of signings. We are still not in the cap shape we want to be in just yet. So yeah!!
  11. If we will be losing (as you seem to suggest what will happen if we don't sell the farm) and not make the playoffs what would that hurt? You could build a strong roster and in 2019 everything will be set for a Franchise QB. But sure get a QB. Let him die behind a terrible right side, no HB Depth to take the pressure off, and then you'll be calling him a bust by week 5.
  12. Davenport is way too raw to take at 22 IMO.
  13. Depends on what the Browns do at 1. They could take Barkley at 1 knowing they are going to get either Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield at 4. I'd scratch the Browns off the list as a trade partner honestly.
  14. McD likes speed all around honestly.
  15. Smith is my favorite player in the draft and honestly, when it comes to best players in the draft I think he's better than all of the QB's but we have too many holes to fill to be thinking about using that many assets on one player.
  16. To me, if it takes that to trade up for Smith, it is just like doing it for a QB. Unless you have a better plan on filling out all of the holes on the roster you just don't throw that type of capital at one guy.
  17. I like his athleticism. I don't think he'll go as high as he could because he's light, unless a team is playing him at outside backer. He has shown some coverage ability so he may find a home at OLB in the Pros.
  18. Man if we could find a QB from somewhere I would love those first two rounds.
  19. Their offense was trash the entire first half mostly. Defense actually kept them in the game. Sure their defense gave up the play at the end but with them it's always been defense holds as long as it can, offense stinks it up early. Defense fades from fatigue late because offense couldn't sustain anything early. Plus since Pees took over their defense it hasn't had the killer instinct it had in the past. So you had a coordinator who played mostly bend/don't break + an offense who constantly went 3 and out the entire first half. That's a recipe for fatigue. Also I'd say check their passing stats on the year. One of the WORSE in the league. They ran the football well though.
  20. That thread got so big I didn't feel like searching through it and may have missed it in the earlier posts in the thread. Also I was looking for play diagrams and actually a playbook. You generally can find a playbook somewhere.
  21. Bowles and Jackson are not the ones making the decision. The GM is and the Browns GM is after a QB and I'm sure the Jets GM is too.
  22. He might not since someone will fall in love with the arm. The Ravens took Flacco at 18 the year they drafted him. I see something similar for Allen. Someone will take him in the teens.
  23. I'd rather just trade back and get another pick if Allen is on the board. If he's there at 21 I suspect he'd be there at 27. Of course the Steelers and Patriots are looking for guys to groom but I don't see Allen as a Patriots style guy. Steelers maybe.
  24. See Baltimore Ravens from 2000 forward. Their lack offense from all those years wasted their top defensive units. Then their latest SB was because the offense got better. But since then they are back in the same boat. Their offense cannot sustain drives, the defense gets gassed and they cannot finish games.
  25. As I said earlier, this is key and when you look at Davis and Yarborough they have that pass rush burst that you want out of a DE. We'll hang on to both of them for sure. Would like a blue chip player at the position now. Really love Bradly Chubb but he's going top 10-15 easily. I generally agree with this unless you can get a guy that's far superior. Since we have a QB need we most likely are not targeting a guy like Bradly Chubb who is actually the full package.
