  1. But we just hit on a 1st and a 3rd with White and Dawkins. The book is still out on Jones who had some really good moments. It's a new regime and I'm all for the idea of New GM, New Coach, New Franchise QB. I'm all for the idea but I think the price that you mentioned is exactly what Beane was talking about when asked about trading up. If you can get a deal that makes sense within what you are working with then you do it without hesitation. But if teams are trying to take advantage of you just because they know you need a QB, that's where IMO you just back off. I'll do a deal but I'm not going to get taken advantage of.
  2. That's suicide. And honestly, I would hate to give up a 1st round pick next year too. I hated it in the Watkins trade and I'd hate it now. I hate not having a 1st round pick. It just sucks. If we trade all of that prepare to take a few steps back before going forward again. Such a trade presupposes that we are only one player away and we are not. I can see giving up 21 and 22 but not 2019 1st and another future 3rd. If we give up all of that + Glenn then we've been had big time.
  3. LOL, I'm sure the Bills love Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Allen, Jackson, Rudolph and a host of other guys at this point. They love all the QBs, but not really. You probably won't know who the really love until late in the process. But for now, they love all of them.
  4. I liked Houston coming out of college. However, no 2nd round pick for an aging player.
  5. He's one of my favorites in the draft. I think he's a top 12 player honestly. But I know some guys will get inflated. Another player who I think will pick up steam although he's already high is Tremaine Edmunds. I think people will just fall in love with the measureables and athleticism. His instincts will need to be fine tuned and I think teams will feel comfortable if they can get him on the board and pick his brain to discover his coachability. He could go in the top 7.
  6. Except Beane didn't collect the picks. In any case, we'll see how it goes.
  7. I'm going to be so mad if we take Allen. Just mad. I trust Beane to not take him but you never know.
  8. Cousins and his agent will probably try to get a similar deal if not more. It's out of our price range. Looking more and more like Taylor is an option as the bridge QB after all..
  9. Everything is within context and reason my dude. You take the 8 point lead. Now trust your pass rushers to close it because with an 8 point lead rather than a 2 or 3 point lead, they are going to have to pass every play and now your pass rushers can pin their ears back and get the job done. That's exactly what happened.
  10. I'd also say a couple of things: 1) Stay AGGRESSIVE on offense. It's the only way. You must score EVERY time even if sometimes it is a FG. 2) Set your defense up at the end where they do not have to worry about two things. This is what did Brady in at the end. The Eagles went up by 8 and now those pass rushers didn't have to worry about the run and he was getting hit every snap.
  11. Patriots best offensive play this half = screens
  12. Agree. Let someone else correct them. We don't need to be that team that tries.
  13. Great analysis by Ware as well.
  14. From the way Beane talked earlier this year, it doesn't seem like we'll be looking to make big splashes in FA.
  15. I love Falk's game. This article actually highlights why I'm so high on him. His benching this year I'm not for sure if it was his wrist that he did have surgery on after the season. Or as Leach explained he wanted him to see the plays developing from the sideline, which would suggest he might be a bit too quick to get the football out? I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that 1) He can be as accurate as anyone in the class; 2) he's played A LOT of football; 3) He's a grinder with a humble attitude that just keeps his head in the playbook and works; 4) his head is always on a swivel once the football is snapped so he's a field progressions guy - especially when you watch 2015 and 2016; 5) He's a football guy and not a system guy. I'm very confident that Falk can make a transition to the NFL X's and O's wise. My biggest question mark with Falk is his frame. As Zerlein accurately said, "he took a beating this year". Of course, he may not be in systems with the lack of protection at WSU when in the NFL. Leach believed/believes in 5 receiving options on EVERY play. The Patriots run some of this, but not like Leach. I'm sure NFL coaches will do a better job of protecting their QB. In any case. I like the kid.
  16. This is exactly how I understand it. Rather than allowing Cousin and his Agent to dictate terms to them the Skins said see ya. We are trying to give you what we think is your market value and you are overvaluing yourself and services. Bye Bye.
  17. Dolphins had extensive meeting with Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen at the Senior bowl. The Jets did as well. The Saints and the Bills were also on the list of having extensive meeting with Mayfield.
  18. I don't think the Colts are a trade partner regardless of McDaniels. They will take the best defensive player in the draft in Chubb or Barkley at HB. I don't see them moving themselves out of the range of those two players. The Dolphins ARE in the QB market if their senior bowl discussions are to be taken seriously.
  19. I agree 2 1sts to move up 9 spots is absolutely terrible value and if Mayfield is the guy then we'll need to move up more than 9 spots. Same with Darnold/Rosen. Allen could be there unless people just get crazy. Yeah but Snyder is known to waste money LOLl
  20. It still might not be for sale. Smith might be their bridge QB and they may take a QB at 13. Just because they signed Smith that doesn't mean they are not going to draft a QB early. They could very well have Allen in the plans thinking he needs to sit for two years.
  21. I agree with that too. Actually just to be clear, when I talk about production I'm not simply talking about numbers. I'm talking about everything that I mentioned in a previous post, which requires watching the tape.
  22. I didn't say there weren't guys in the class better than Peterman. I just said outside of the top guys I'd have to ask some serious questions. And I think you have to compare their college production to his. Not the small sample size we have of him failing last season.
  23. No argument concerning Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield here. But the other two are where I'd have to answer some serious questions. Actually, as passers, I think Rudolph and Falk are well ahead of Allen and Jackson and it's not even close. I'm talking about a few things here: 1) Mechanics 2) Pocket Awareness 3) Reading the field 4) Accuracy and completion percentage. 5) Anticipation and throwing guys open 6) Creation of Scoring chances Granted Rudolph and Falk also have questions to answer. Are they mere system QB's. I think you have to get them on the board ask them to talk about their offense, then show them NFL concepts and see if they easily understand or do they struggle to understand. If they can easily translate then they are not mere system guys but guys with high general football IQ which is what you want. IF they cannot translate/struggle to understand then scratch them off the board. Rudolph has a better frame/build than Falk, so Falk would need to deal with that issue. People question both regarding arm strength. I think for Falk you have to ask whether the wrist played into that. Go back and look at the tape and see if his throws from 15 an 16 had more velocity than 17. So as you can see, even though I think Falk and Rudolph are better passers at this point than Jackson and Allen, even they have questions that must be answered. In any case we'll see how things start to shape up in the next month.
