He'll be at least as good as he was here under Lynn, Roman because he will more than likely be asked to be THAT guy and not what Dennison tried to make him into.

I certainly think the Browns take Allen now. T-Mobile is not the long-term answer for them but he can give them two years, which allows Allen time to digest the playbook.

Tyrod will flourish. Hue won't be dumb. They will no doubt take Barkely at 1. You get Tyrod and Barkley in the same backfield in a read option style offense and it's a lot of stress for a defense.

Hmmmm, are we taking Cousins or we are selling the farm?

Just saw this. Wonder what we got in return. Mid round pick.

Because Tannehill is unreliable, often injured and is not that good and when you see an upgrade you need to take it. Isn't that what everyone around here preaches. TT isn't good so we need a franchise QB. Tannehill is NOT a franchise QB AND he's not that good, so why wouldn't the Phins be looking at QB. They met with Mayfield at the Senior Bowl as well. If anything, maybe they think the Bills will sell the farm and draft Mayfield and they are just interviewing him for intel purposes. Who knows, but it's clear the Dolphins need a signal caller. I don't think they are manipulating anything. Tannehill is not Gase's QB. Maybe Gase wants his own QB?

Richard Sherman - 3ry deal with 49ers

I think the Falcons and Panthers could be in play for him. I don't see it. He's too outspoken for BB. -
Beane: "I have no intent to move up or down"
NewEraBills replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ohh I have no doubts they'll move around IF they can get partners to agree on things. The issue is WHERE they will move. I have my doubts about them moving where some people think they are going to. I don't see that. They'll move, but I highly doubt it'll be a top 5 move. If they do that I'll be completely shocked. -
Bills signings & TT trade point to trade up

There are teams that cannot offer the quantity of picks we have, but there are teams that can offer better value to teams at the top. -
Bills signings & TT trade point to trade up

LOL. I don 't read it this way. The signings are the signings. Anyone who thinks Odigyy is projected as a starter out of the gate isn't really analyzing this very well. We don't even know what we have in Vontae Davis. He's about to be 30. Not really good for CB's. Ivory I can see, but the other two right now are bodies. The only thing that these signings point to for me is the Bills are not looking to mess up their chances for comp picks and they are trying to get people who can compete in spots where they really want to upgrade. Right now nothing has been upgraded except for HB2. Davis should be ready to go by camp but we'll see. If he can play he's an upgrade. We'll just have to wait to see how things play out. -
Gettleman won't pass on Barkley if he's there at 2. You might think it's insane but there is a consensus starting to line up that Barkley is the best player in the draft. Add in the Giants need someone to run the rock. The other thing counting against all of this is the Broncos. You have to hope they land a QB in FA because they could be a potential blocker. They have the #5 pick which could actually keep Gettleman close to his top-ranked prospects. Plus they can offer their 2nd, two thirds, three 4ths and any future picks. They can match anything we can provide and the deal would be better for Gettleman if he has highly rated players in mind and still wants them.
-
If Denver does not land a QB in FA it's probably going to have to be more than that if Denver wants to move up to 2. They have the ammo to do it. They have #5, two 3rds, three 4ths, plus the 2nd rounder. Plus they can add future picks if they want. The price is going to get driven up. Plus, if the Browns do not take Barkley at #1 it's going to be difficult to convince someone to just I dunno, pass on the best player in the draft.

What people don't realize is that it's going to cost a fortune. Let's think about this for a second. Let's say Indy wants either Chubb or Nelson and they see them as a sure fire prospect and the #1 player on their board. You have two things to fight against here. First, you have to convince Indy to give up the #1 player on their board. 2nd you have to convince Indy that what you offer them will be better than what a team in the top 7 will offer them, which keeps them closer to the #1 player on their board. It's a lot to fight against even if you have a lot to give up. You try and see what can be done but I really don't see it for us.

Well, the Bills are well underway in free agency
NewEraBills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think we'll be all that aggressive. I think they are signing guys at this point because it doesn't count against the comp pick formula. Once FA actually opens, I'm predicting conservative. -
Rumor: L.Jackson 2nd QB on Bills Board
NewEraBills replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it's all speculation but if we do that for Rudolph I'd be ill and just wouldn't feel any way good about it. That sounds like let's just take a QB because we have too language. And we overeshot for him. YUK! -
Rumor: L.Jackson 2nd QB on Bills Board

In other words, probably an agent trying to increase Jackson's draft stock lol. -
Rumor: L.Jackson 2nd QB on Bills Board
NewEraBills replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure he could be #2 on their board IF they stay at 21. There are just too many caveats, arrangements at this point to know anything for sure. Prime Time doesn't like Lamar for Buffalo but he doesn't get to decide. I kinda agree with Prime on this actually. I like Mayfield as #1 for Buffalo and Jackson could be a #2 as I'm thinking about Daboll. But again, as Beane said, they are not going to try to look at Daboll and say ok which guy fits that. Rather, they are going to draft the best guy and Brian will have his work cut out for him. To me, at this point, if we cannot get into the top 5 which I just feel like is an impossibility one question I'd have to ask is, can Daboll give us at least one good year out of TT. And by good, I'm not talking about anything Brady-esque. I'm talking about can Daboll at least give us the Tyrod that Lynn and Roman gave us with just a little more passing? I feel like if we had that offense we score more. How much more I don't know, but certainly more than the wreck that we had this past season. If we can land Mayfield we can move on from TT rather quickly IMO. If we land a QB like Jackson then TT most likely will start all season unless he gets hurt and then Peterman would step in as next in line. There are worse situations to be in. I for one would rather have Rosen or Mayfield, but if we cannot get up there to get them for whatever reason, I'd be fine with taking Jackson but NOT trading up into the top 10 for him. He needs to sit a full season because he's just not ready. Now one thing I would do if we did take Jackson is have one or two packages with him and the other QB in the game at the same time, but nothing extensive and nothing to run every week. You just put it out there and see how other teams respond to it. In any case, we'll see how things turn out. -
Not only that, this is not about doing the Bills favors. The Giants like every other team have several targets in mind and they may still value a top 10 player and would be more willing to trade with the Jets, Tampa, or Denver so that they don't lose that player. While the person you quoted noted the previous relationship between Gettleman and Beane/McDermott, what they did not take into account is that Gettleman has NEVER traded back AND he's more of a I'd rather have a dime than two nickels kind of guy. Given that, I know we wish for it but it might just be wishful thinking.

I just think GM's grade guys more closely than fans do. Secondly, Barkley has made a strong case for being the BEST PLAYER in the draft. If you can get the best player in the draft AND one of the QB's you do it. I don't even see how this is a debate. You get the best player in the draft, especially for a team that is starving for playmakers on offense and you get one of the top QB's. There is just no way to beat that combo for the Browns.
